Exellent location in the middle of the city. Very good parking facilities. The room was charming, but the leaning floor disturbed me. The bathroom was very nice. Very good breakfast, better than average french

The hotel De La Couronne is well located in the heart of Riquewhir. It has plenty of parking, but once you arrive you will not need your car. The only time you need the car is when you want to explore the other wonderful wineries along the Vin De Alsace. The hotel is located in an old and rustic building, but it is much nicer and better maintained than many other old and rustic buildings that I have been in. They have a nice little bar downstairs in which to enjoy a beer, wine, or a sticky. The breakfast is typical for a french country town, fresh pastries, assorted cold cuts, yogurt, juices, cheeses - Do not expect eggs or other typical American or Asian selections. As other people have commented the main staircase is a vintage spiral cement staircase. It scores big points from an eye candy standpoint, but it will be daunting for anyone that is NOT in good health. We rented a 3 person larger room. It was simply appointed with lots of space by European standards. To remind us of the old and rustic nature of the hotel the floor to our room was on a noticable slant sloping towards the doorway. Though it was noticable it was viewed as a source of humor rather than something we complained about. On the down side the bath room had been updated, but they didn't use the best materials and we saw a lot of black mold in those hard to clean spots. I don't care how nice/rustic a hotel is, no one wants to sit in the tub and see black mold staring them in the face! They need to either really clean the grout or tear it out and re-do it correctly the next time.

This was my second stay there and each time I am pleased. The staff and the quaintness of the hotel are main reasons for the return. Great location for wine tasting! During the first visit there were three of us and we were given a room on the top floor with beams and a pretty large bath. However, on the second visit, again with three guests, we were given a room on the second floor (room 21) with extremely slanted floors! This made the beds extremely slanted as well! Had a very difficult time sleeping...long night. Felt like we needed to sleep on an angle, strange. Also the bath in room 21 was very small. Both rooms were large.

It was very convenient to main part of town but definitely a climb up the steep road. Having the kitchen area, though small, was very beneficial. Having a washer and dryer for free for the hotel guests is a real bonus. Very helpful staff! Just remind anyone staying here there is tram noise outside if you stay in the front.

Right in the centre of the town, but with plenty of parking for guests - a real bonus in Riquewihr. Wonderful old building. Superior room was a good size, with pleasant view from front of hotel. Nice breakfast. Staff generally very helpful and friendly. Bathroom disappointing for a superior room - room 18. Our previous visit confirms that not all bathrooms are this poor.

Even is a very old building, was renovated and kept the original atmosphere. Excellent location just in the middle of the town and has a huge parking for such a small and crowded place.

Of all the hotels we stayed in on our trip, this was the oddest. It's an old building in the middle of a tourist-trap medieval town and I guess you could say it has character. Rooms are accessed via spiral stone staircase and are basic, though the bed was surprisingly comfortable and the curtains keep the light out. I probably wouldn't stay there again but it did the job at a reasonable price. The bathroom wasn't great - shower over bath, but the bracket was about four feet up and nowhere near the screen so I had to squat in the shower to use it while using towels to stop the room flooding. Getting to the car park is tricky, as the town centre is pedestrianised and full of tourists but there's no other route to take. Not a nightmare on a motorcycle but I wouldn't want to do it in a car. Riquewihr itself is charming for five minutes or so, more if you like Riesling and saurkraut (I don't).

I stayed at Hotel de la Couronne last year. We had an excellant stay and decided to return and spend a little more time looking around Riquiwhr. We normally stay in Logis whilst touring France but a friend organised this hotel last year. They have stayed there over 10 years ago and enjoyed the experience. So thanks to my friend Paul we found Hotel de la Couronne. I would not normally have found such a hotel as I mentioned we normally stay in Logis but I am so glad that we did. The receiption staff are excellant very welcoming and helpfull. It really is the perfect hotel. We usually travel in sports cars and we appreciate secure parking which the hotel is able to offer.

The hotel is in the center of the old medieval walled city of Riquewihr and has a lot of charm. It is definitely not like a chain restaurant. I enjoyed the experience. There is a long staircase to get to the top floors.

Great location right in the heart of Riquewihr. Bonus for this hotel is they have their own parking right next to the hotel and parking is a challenge in Riquewihr. Easy strolling to every place in old town. Friendly staff.
