The room was very cold when we arrived because the radiator was off, and it did not warm up sufficiently until the middle of the night. We went to bed with our socks on! There was no room to open our suitcases on the floor and no comfortable seating (2 hard chairs).
The hotel is difficult to find in the dark, and I strongly recommend arriving in Riquewihr during daylight hours. It is in the old walled city, where driving is restricted, and it may be easier to park outside that area and find the hotel on foot. The hotel staff were helpful in providing instructions on how to drive into the walled area, and the hotel does have a parking lot adjacent to it.
In spite of these difficulties, we enjoyed our visit and highly recommend staying in Riquewihr.
This picturesque hotel is in the heart of the old walled and very scenic (medieval) village of Riquewihr. It is in an old but restored building that maintains the old beams and half-timbered walls and an old circular stairway to the second floor.Overall it gave us a feeling of being there in another century. The room furnishings were attractive, but the room was very small. The bathroom was well-lit and modern. We enjoyed a generous breakfast buffet in an attractively decorated breakfast room.
