WiFi a bit weak

Nice location overlooking the river, comfortable room with bath, good wifi, and OK breakfast. Very friendly English speaking proprietor and equally friendly dog, Elliott.

Nothing, but one tip - find a better restaurant for dinner than the one immediately opposite the hotel. Menu uninspiring and amateurish service. Worth the 5 minute trip into Sancerre town.

Breakfast expensive for what was on offer,

Beautiful old hotel run by a very friendly family, complete with Elliot the Labradour. We were upgraded to a fabulous room, Louis XV. Not far from Sancerre and even closer to some great wineries. Bruno, the owner arranged for us to visit a local winery and we were lucky enough to get a personal tour. My husband was quite ill during our stay and our hosts were most generous with their care and service to our room. Nothing was too much trouble. Elliot "the wonder-dog" took me for a lovely walk while he was resting. Great quirky bar next door, Little Ship, we met some locals and the host Stefan was very nice. We would have stayed longer but had to push on. Highly recommend.

Nothing to dislike, would like a tea tray in room, although the proprietor was happy to oblige with tea whan requested.

Location, excellent room, very comfortable stay

The hotel wa quirky yet comfortable. the hosts were very friendly and the themed rooms were charming. Good brakfast although a toaster would be good as would a kettle as the hot water wasn't really hot enough for tea. There were several restaurants within walking distance and i would recommend carls's just next dorr, lovely ambience, good food and wine and a friendly owner. Very well placed for Sancerre and the surrounding countryside.

Elegant quiet spot close to the town of Sancerre, with a good restaurant literally opposite.

The situation on the riverside is perfect with the river views and the convenience of two restaurants just a few steps away. Parking is easy. The rooms are quirkily decorated and furnished on different themes with comfortable beds and chairs. The bathrooms are well equipped. Breakfasts are very good - especially the eggs from their own hens.

It was closer to adequate than excellent - but the view from the room was closer to excellent than adequate.

The hotel was handy for touring Sancerre. The family that run it were very friendly and helpful and the decor was great.

The manager was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was situated on the edge of the River Loire and well placed for visiting Sancerre and many other local wine villages. The bedroom was spotless and each room had a different theme. It was very comfortable. Mine was the Indes room and was suitably furnished. This made a nice change to the other bland hotel rooms I have stayed in. The breakfast was excellent and included home made jam, yogurt, cereal, cold meat, cheese, fruit salad, eggs to boil, baguette and croissants. Although the hotel does not serve an evening meal there are plenty of places to eat in easy walking distance. I ate at Carla's restaurant across the road. I had a lovely meal sitting in a outdoor wooden dining area at the edge of the river. The staff couldn't have been more helpful trying to meet my dietary requirements.

Helpful staff, great location on the bank of the Loire, very close to the world renowned wine village of Sancerre. Very comfortable room in a typically French style. Really enjoyed our stay.

Our stay (six nights) at Hotel de la Loire was efficient, friendly, clean and comfortable. Mdm. Isabelle and her staff (family) were very helpful and pleasant. The cleaning staff were very thoughtful and thorough and non-invasive. We were able to park our vehicle securely. The guest rooms, though new and sparkling are very comfortable and spacious. We stayed in the Chambre Coloniale which had views of the Loire River. Elliot the family and hotel mascot - golden retriever- was a comforting element for guests who love sensible and well-behaved dogs. The traffic noise from the nearby bridge - the main route out of town - was a little disturbing, but with the windows closed it was no real concern. Do take your mosquito repellent to avoid being attacked at sunset. A great hotel for travelers - highly recommend.

A relaxing stop over in a beautiful room with a good breakfast.

We loved this hotel situated right next to the Loire River near Sancerre. We had the Victorian room which was delightfully furnished and very comfortable. The hotel is in the traditional style and has interesting features. Parking was very easy outside the hotel. Access to rooms could be problem for anyone with a disability as the staircases were quite steep. We had a nice breakfast the following morning which could be taken outside weather permitting. There are four restaurants very close and we ate in the one opposite on the terrace overlooking the river. It was a perfect overnight stay and we will be back!

It was very hot during our stay and the air conditioning unit leeked water through the night. I forgot to mention it the following morning but I hope that by now it has been fixed.
