We were touring the Great War battlefields again and the hotel is supremely well located. It is full of character, the restaurant which offers evening dinner is simply outstanding. Owner very friendly and helpful. We liked it a lot. the only slight criticism is that the en suite bathroom was very cramped. That said, this did not cause a problem and it would certainly not stop us returning.

Since 1996 we have stayed at the hotel on seventeen occasions, particularly when it was managed by Isabelle and Freddie. The hotel is now better than ever. The breakfast room and the buffet breakfast was excellent, and so was the food for the evening meal, both in content, cooking and price. We stayed for two nights on the 29th and 30th April 2013, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There were four of us, the service in the bar was excellent, and the service we received from the proprietor and his staff could not be faulted. Certainly we will be back next year. The food was outstanding the snails and cheese were a meal on their own and the Fillet steak is one of the best I have ever eaten. The staff were friendly and accomodating and the location is a 2 minute walk to the centre of Albert. It couldnt be a better location for touring the Battlefields.

The staff were reluctant to offer a basic level of service, the breakfast was poor the ham was off. We were given dirty towels, the kettle in the room was filthy and when I complained I was told I should clean it. The shower leaked, there was frequently no hot water for showers. There was poor lighting to get to your room on a night. The owner did not welcome guests, he didn't want to provide an evening meal and turned the lights out at 20.45 while we were still finishing our deserts. The owner stood and watched over you at breakfast. On a morning he took his car outside the garage and parked it outside the hotel to prevent guests from doing so. I have never been felt less welcome in any hotel I have stayed in.

Location. High-speed WiFi. Friendly people. I was told they renovated... But the same 1920's "s**t machine" as toilet. Restaurant was better in the past, service also. Without giving names, the "other" hotel downtown is better for the money.

Family of 4 could stay in one room. Breakfast was included. Tea and coffee making facilities. Strange room lay out with a plastic moulded bathroom unit similar to something you would find in a caravan. Toilet has a very loud 'masher' unit and shower is minute!
