A 'typically french' family owned and run hotel located in a beautiful walled town in central France. Ideally located minutes from the motorway, approximately halfway between Calais and the French Alps. When we stayed, December 2011, the decor was being upgraded. The restaurant was adequate, but nothing to write home about..Overall I would recommend the hotel.

The staff is so kindly. When we failed to book a taxi to our destination. The boss take us up from the hotel to our destination without additional charge. Even there is some language barriars between us, we could feel the kindness of the staff of the hotel deeply. It's an excellent experience living in this hotel!

Good sized bedroom, recently redecorated with excellent bathroom. Hotel in process of renovation, tastefully done in traditional French style. Particularly liked the interior corridor colour scheme, the individual floral paintings on doors and the atmospheric main staircase. Plenty of secure parking and well located for centre of town. Breakfast in the stylish dining room was varied and pleasing. The casket of jewel coloured bon-bons at reception provides an original welcoming touch. Good selection of wines from the Burgundy region but some cheaper options for the casual drinker at the bar would be beneficial.

Breakfast! The bedroom was very clean. We stayed in a so-called re-furbished room. The deep red walls and general decor were not up-lifting! Some doors did not close and part of the wardrobe did not open. The shutters were in a very poor state.

Central location, en route while on a journey. Staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel decor was delightful, hand painted flowers on the ourtside of the room doors. Tasteful colour scheme in the rooms. Hadn't taken into account the request for Gluten Free food, although staff helpful re choosing appropriate menu..

We had a very good overnight stay in Langres in this centrally located hotel. The double room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were really excellent.

Convenient location in the heart of Langres. Parking available (small additional charge). Stayed one night in one room (2 adults and 2 small children), in the main building. There is an annex but we didn't explore it so can't make any comment about those rooms. We had a large room, high ceiling, clean, well-appointed, comfortable and recently re-decorated. Warm welcome. It's in a beautiful old building in the centre of Langres with plenty of character. Didn't eat or have breakfast in hotel as it seemed a little expensive and there are plenty of other options within easy walking distance. The swimming pool looked excellent but we didn't have time to use it. The shared areas (lounge, bar etc) are lovely.

We liked the hotel which is nicely situated in the center of the town Langres. The room was somewhat small for 3 people but OK. The breakfast was very nice and more than just a croissant and coffee. The swimming pool is nice after a long day in the car, not big but enough for a refreshing dip.

A traditional French Hotel in a fascinating walled city. The room we had was recently renovated , but entirely in keeping with the former surroundings. There was a pool, an excellent car park, and a restaurant serving good, reasonably priced traditional food. The staff were friendly and helpful. We shall certainly come again when passing through this part of France. n/a

Location was excellent - dead centre of town. Close to all amenities. Good facilities including a good swimming pool and friendly staff. Being on a major square meant the hotel was very noisy at night if you kept the windows open. However, if you shut the wndows it was unbearably hot as there was no airconditioning. Poor nights sleep either way!

We used this hotel as an overnight stopover it was easy to find and there was ample secure parking.the bedroom was very spacious and the bathroom had a huge new shower. The style was very much traditional French with antique furniture. The evening meal was superb and excellent value for money and the breakfast was also good. The staff were friendly but spoke little English The hotel is in the process of being re furbished and some parts are very tatty although they have placed signs of apology up around the hotel with this regard. There are signs of its previous grandeur as it is a large building with an impressive sweeping staircase leading up to the rooms[please note there is no lift]but I fear the new decor will not be up to much but this is a matter of personal taste. There is no air conditioning and at the time we were there it was extremely hot which meant we had to sleep with the windows open unfortunately the traffic noise was unbearable and we had no sleep at all [the windows are double glazed and shut out most of the street noise if its not hot] The traffic was a surprise as at first the location seemed very quiet but at night cars were screeching round corners and the old square seemed to echo every sound. The bathroom hairdryer was broken but the owner lent me another. Also the owners have several small dogs which run around the ground floor they are friendly but this may be a problem for some people I did not like the fact other guests could take their dogs into the dining room.
