The location overlooking Lake Geneva is stunning, and whilst the weather wasn't kind to us, the pool and sport facilities looked fabulous. The staff were invariably courteous and helpful, and this family run hotel really understands customer service.

The steep hill between the main reception and the annex for the rooms means that guests with limited mobility should be aware that they will need help. But this is in the foothills of the Alps!

Beautiful hotel, excellent location overlooking Lake Geneva, close enough to the center of Evian but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Great for relaxing or for a romantic getaway. We went there in summer, and the hotel and surroundings were covered by beautiful flowers.

Taking into account that the rooms are already pricey, we found that 18 euro per person for what looked like a normal breakfast buffet was a bit too much. We walked about 5 minutes to a bakery in Neuvecelle and had coffee and croissants for a fraction of that.

We have got what we paid.

International hotel, good restaurant, but the menu was ONLY in French. Nobody speaks German, Italian, nobody wanted to translate it to english. So we did not know what we ordered.

Wow, I so enjoyed my stay at La Verniaz that it ranks near the top of my favorite lodging experiences. It's perched on top of a hill overlooking Lake Geneva and is a quaint and intimate place to simply relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the property. The staff makes you feel like part of their family -- and it is no wonder that this establishment has been owned by the same family for decades. Frank, the bartender, is a creative mixologist and entertaining conversationalist, so if you go, definitely stop at the bar and indulge in one of his lovely cocktails! Also, do not miss out on having dinner at the restaurant -- it is a real treat. The grounds are covered in roses and flowering trees which were all in full bloom at the end of May. It was absolutely spectacular. I hope to visit La Verniaz again soon.

    The atmosphere. Room service. Breakfast.

Wifi is getting disconnected and asks for Id and password every time.

The location, on the hill, just opposite Evian tennis club, where u can play tennis. Quiet and beautiful part of Evian. Nearby is free funiculer to downtown. Atmosphere at the location is great. Restaurant for lunch and dinner is very good, the service there and at the recepcion is perfect. Good breakfast.

The walls are not soundprof, I could hear every word of my neibours, who came home every morning at 3-4 am. The service at breakfast was very slow. On sunday I spend half an hour standing there and waiting for a clean table. The swimming pool is a bit old fashiond and needs a renovation. But that is all. It is the exellent choise for the hotel at Evian.

Phenomenal setting and building. Roses everywhere - immaculate and charming. Dining in the restaurant is essential, especially in good weather where there is a beautiful garden.

My wife and I visited this hotel with our (then) young son 17 years ago, and we had such fond memories that we returned with two lady friends for a visit in May, 2014, for 3 nights. La Verniaz is a country-style hotel perched on the hillside above the center of Evian, offering great views of Lac Léman. It has a very comfortable communal living room, gourmet restaurant, beautiful patio and gardens, a lot of flowers everywhere, a very nice pool area and next-door tennis court, an area with cabins, and a separate building just above the gardens offering rooms with windows and small balconies overlooking the lake. Breakfast is served in that building, while you may reserve a table for an elegant dinner in the dining room of the main hotel building. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive. I would recommend a room with a lake view, well worth the extra charge. Rooms are spacious and charming, beds are large and comfortable, bathrooms are modern and convenient, and the views are breathtaking. Breakfast is a buffet offering a small selection of breads, cereals, cheeses, fruit, yogurt and eggs (with or without ham) made to order. They also bring a basket of croissants and pastries to each table. Very nice. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant, and it was very gourmet, but we felt that the flavors were not quite up to the level of the very best meals we ate in similar establishments in France. Nonetheless, the food is quite good, and service is excellent.

The restaurant was quite expensive, and the food was ok but not spectacular.

Location is superb, in a green and peaceful area; big garden, with tables where you can enjoy a meal; there is also a tennis court (hardcourt, not in a good shape, but if you want to have some fun it's OK). Very quiet room, great bed, nice furniture; restaurant is cozy, but after 11 PM you can only order drinks.

The rooms were spacious and clean. The food was delicious. The staff are wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. An Edwardian paradise! We planned an overnight stay, wish we could have stayed all week!

Room was excellent. Staff Very Good.

Dinner was poor. Breakfast, after visiting hotels in Laon, Dijon and Calais on this holiday was the worst, lack of choice, no Orange or any other juice.

Classical Hotel, 3km from the center of Evian, you need a car to go down town. Swimming pool and tennis courts for relaxation. Gourmet restaurant at high prices, haven't try it though. Worth it to visit Montreux (40'), Bern (1:40 h).

Everything. This was one of our two favorite hotels during our three week stay. This is a former Relais et Chateaux property and the quality of service and facilities still shines through. Excellent value for the money. Fabulous restaurant. Excellent wine list. Great choices. Nice menu for the children. Attentive staff. Beautiful grounds. Stunning. Very attentive staff. Everyone was wonderful. Free parking - roomy too. No worries about door dings. Dog friendly. The children were thrilled to see a couple with their dog at dinner. Very nice bathroom in our room. Well done!!

It rained while we were there and they shut the pool while we were there. The children were quite disappointed. We would have stayed another night but due to the pool closure we moved onto Aix where the sun was out. No AC in our room but it wasn't too warm. Not easy to find. Our GPS had major issues and it took us quite a while to find them. I think that the website needs better instructions on how to find the property. Breakfast wasn't included. :(
