I liked how the hotel was very central to the train lines and shops etc etc.... There were no irons in the rooms or ironing board, I had to purchase my own iron which I left in the room I stayed in.

It was impossible to find anything nice with this hotel. The rooms are very small, the plaster was hanging off the wall, the toilet seat was broken, the top of the cistern was broken and hanging off. Tiles were missing from wall of bathroom. Behind the door of bathroom was very dirty. The room was very bare, not recommended for anyone with claustraphobia. There was no tea or coffee facilities in the room. Vending machine in lobby not working. The hotel staff were not friendly. The room was not soundproof as advertised and the rooms do not look anything like the pictures advertised. As you get out of the lift one floor there was a sheet of plastic on the ground and a ladder in your way, a safety hazard. Bed lamps in room broken. The area does not seem safe. Very intimidating.

L'Avalon provided exactly the facilities that it advertised. Rooms were spotless and exactly as indicated. Bathroom facilities were good. Breakfast was self-service, copious and of a reasonable standard. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The situation of the hotel is very good - near Gare du Nord. The hotel was priced very well at 80 euros twin room. I would recommend for those seeking an hotel that provides a high standard for a small budget.

Family run, attentive staff, clean, well presented and 2-3 min walk to Gare du Nord. It is a budget hotel, so not for romantic weekends, but for the price it is excellent quality. I would stay again for short business or shopping/sightseeing trips to Paris.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and took care of a major problem (see below) very quickly and gave me a room upgrade without any hesitation. The breakfast was terrific and the food provided definitely better than other hotels I have stayed in in France. The lighting was terrible in both rooms that I stayed in--don't you realize people read in bed and/or need some room light to see what they are doing in the evening? I woke up to a scratching, chewing sound coming from the air vent beside the toilet--it was a rat. When I told the front desk staff they upgraded me to a larger room two floors up. Yeah rat!

Great location for travellers through Gard du Nord, really 5' walking distance, centrally situated, felt safe at all times. Room adequate, clean, modern, all necessary facilities, incl. Kitchenette fully equipped. Coffee/tea making facilities. Nice, clean bathroom, hair dryer, shower gel/shampoo available. Good breakfast in a busy-busy breakfast room, which is quite small given the number of people. Rooms are in two parts in this hotel: normal ones and 'studio' ones. We stayed in the 'studio' part which is the better one according to receptionist. Room as per description, no more-no less, great value for money, recommended for short stays. Also, next to reception there is a laptop and a printer for the guests, handy for printing out maps or tickets etc. Receptionist committed the ultimate error: gave our room to another couple of people who arrived shortly after us! So we had them entering while we were going out (fortunately we were still there and it was afternoon so we were not asleep or whatever) This was shortly corrected but one must wonder.. Also, wi-fi so weak, practically non existent, but one can use aforementioned laptop, so it's fine.

All the staff were very professional and helpful, also knowledgable about transport. Breakfast was adequate and set us up for the day. Rooms were clean, and beds comfortable. View from window, and ambience of stairs and lift very Parisienne. Struggled with Euopean keyboard on pc

The location is excellent – close to Gare du Nord and Metro, making it easy to get to anywhere in the city. The staff members were friendly and helpful, from the front desk to housekeeping. The rooms are a little small, but offer excellent value for money compared to other Paris properties.

Excellent location, especially with children. We did not have to walk far from the Gar du nord station. Plenty of eating places around. Good breakfast. Clean room, clean linen, clean toilet and enough space inside the room. Friendly and helpful staff at the reception. The staff at the breakfast area could be bit more friendlhy, atleast a smile would help. The location is a bit ceedy at night. This, however, is well known for this area. Nothing happened to us and we were there for thre days.

Price and location.... The hotel is very convenient... Less than 5 minutes walk from gare nord. Its just perfect. Shower curtain should be abit longer, preventing water splash on bathroom floors... But everything is fine really!

Honestly hotel was as good as you can get for 99e per double room with breakfast. We were lucky we got 3 bed room for some reason. Otherwise I can hardly imagine to stay in such a small room with all the beggage for 5 nights. Hotel staff was friendly and speaks english sufficient. The breakfast was rich enough even without ham, eggs or salami. Nice cheese, jam and fresh croisants, coffee, 2 kinds of juice, hot milk, Lipton tea, cornflakes. All the premises were clean. The street was noisy mainly during the day so when you need the room only for nights, it's just fine. Also positive near distance to Gere du Nord station. Thank you Avalon for bergain staying. We really enjoyed the Paris. Good luck in your business.
