Wonderful hotel, highly recommended. Charming and very helpful staff.
The owners were wonderful, the violin played at breakfast by the owner was a real treat. The history of the house is great, a must see.
Parking is off site and inconvenient in the rain but the owners helped with the bags.
The room has an atmosphere fitting to old town of Chambery, just in front of cathedral. We could sleep well.
This hotel is on the third floor, and yet has no elevator.
Excellent welcome by the owner. Beautiful and spacious room and bathroom - full of character . In centre of old city .
breakfast was expensive &€12 although I was offered a reduced rate .
Philippe and Edith were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. We would thoroughly recommend staying here if you wish to explore this interesting area.
Large space, high ceilings, traditional French design
It was noisy being in the centre.
- A stately "home" in a period building in the pedestrian zone of Chambery. - Comfortable, generously sized, well decorated bedroom - Shared sitting room - Beautifully decorated breakfast room - Just a couple of steps from the next public parking (€6.50 for the night with the ticket from the hotel)
- there is no elevator in this protected period building but the owners/staff were keen to help with the luggage on arrival and departure.
The owner greeted us - having already emailed to say where to park as hotel is in a pedestrian area (although you can drop off luggage). He gave us background information about the area and a terrific suggestion for dinner
Not a problem for us but there is no lift and the rooms are on the 2nd floor.
Great family suite with a fab central location. Beautifully appointed and helpful staff.
Hard to find. You have to park in central car park and walk, which is not far, but not expected with 3 kids trailing behind after a 7hr drive. Expensive breakfast at 12 euros per head. Fabulous bakery opposite the car park
old building with modern utilities, central location, excellent service, enjoyable breakfast, very good wi-fi connection
nothing major to report
the owner has impecable taste. the quality of the fixtures and fittings was of a really high standard and the design of all the rooms is first class. Beautiful 18th century antiques mixed with quirky modern pieces. There's a real sense of history and style.
there wasn't anything i disliked.
Ivan was most helpful and very pleasant person. He really tried his best sort out any issues we had
Smell emanating from the bath room. At night people urinate in the passage leading to the hotel. Quite unpleasant.
We liked all the people we met there ie the owners and the owner's friend who covered for them whilst away, all of them could not have been more charming or considerate. The position was excellent and the building was intriguing and quietly impressive.
There was nothing we didn't like it was a truly French experience. We did not find the parking a problem there is a secure under ground car park nearby.
Beautiful home, lovely rooms. The owners are lovely. Breakfast very good and plentiful, although I still found it too expensive.
I didn't love the town. If we hadn't been on our way somewhere else I don't think I would have stopped there. The stay at this hotel made it worth it however.
The staff was very welcoming and helpfull Size of room Great shower Great location in the old town
No parking in the hotel
Wonderful apartment and location. Great breakfast
Located in the center of the old town. A very warm and helpful welcome from the owner. Big room and very fresh in a house from the 18th century. A very interesting history of the old city center told by the host. Breakfast included everything we could expect. Warm and friendly. We really recommend this hotel.
As others have noted, it is not a hotel, but 5 excellent rooms in an exquisite old building in the centre of the historic centre. Not to be missed.
The owners where lovely and helpful, and having the violin played for us the first morning at breakfast was a treat. The layout and size of the suite was excellent for our family for four with two adults and two older teens. The real treat was the age of the building and the quality of the fit out of the suite. Lovely. The location was excellent, right in the middle of town.
The loft where the kids slept wasn't as well ventilated as the rest of the suite and the kids were hot at night even with air conditioning on. The first night was after a very hot July day, but the other three nights where also hot for the kids, even after relatively cool/wet days. We probably didn't get value for what we spent on breakfast, but it was convenient to not to have to go out for breakfast. We wouldn't take it again with hindsight. The suites are on the third story with no lifts, not a problem for us as we are fit and healthy with older teens, but something to be aware of. Also, no easy access to drop off luggage, parking is 300m or so away. You can get access with the car, but not at all times and only after talking to the owners.
Excellent staff, great location and a room with the wow factor. Very pleased with the suite, and Phillipe and Edith were both great, even talking us through the history of the building and Chambery, the town. Would recommend to anyone, a rare find.
Beautiful accommodation in the middle of the city & walk to all parts of city.
Very hard to find with owners that do not live on site & had to arrange meeting @ hotel & they were 1 hour late. Parking very inconvenient more suited to train travellers
Staff(owner) very friendly and helpful. Fantastic apartment and lot of space.
Very late check in - only after 5PM. Parking facilities a bit far away.
Lovely hotel dead centre of town parked my bike outside everything I needed and more it is a b and b that's all but what a b and b
Loved the old stone building, previously the local presbytery, located in an old area of town among lanes and shops. The room was very spacious, full of traditional character as well as well-equipped and comfortable. Philippe was an excellent host and gave us a wonderful breakfast complete with his home-made jam. Made a great overnight stop on our way from Milan to London.
Interesting historic building, perfect location, very quiet, charming host, very good breakfast
