Hôtel De Vendôme  

I thought the hotel staff was very nice. The location is quite excellent, walking distance from the Louvre and Champs Elysee. The area is quite nice. The restaurant at the hotel is also very good with good reviews from Yelp. We had 2 breakfasts there. Very good service at the restaurant. We recommend eating there for breakfast based on our experience. The prices are roughly the cost of breakfast in the neighborhood, but the quality is much better.

Its a bit old style though. Those looking for a sleek modern design, should go elswhere. And last but not least, the restuarant is NOT a gastronomic restaurant anymore. It serves a bistro lunch menu at night: club sandwich... without informing us when making the reservation.

The location of the hotel was ideal for our plans in Paris. Combined with the metro pass we could get anywhere very easily. The market was close by as well, which was convenient and beautiful shopping all around us. The Louvre and Tulleries were a few blocks away and plenty of bistro's and places to grab a drink. Very quiet and rooms were nicely furnished. The Junior suite our teens had did have a funny odor, even with windows opened all day.

The staff at the front desk was ambiguous about being friendly or helpful. They did satisfy our needs, but never went out of their way to make us feel like guests. It was somewhat like we were troubling them when asking for directions or advice. Several times didn't bother to even look up from the phone as we came and went.

The Kingsize bed allowed us to sleep easily. The room was peaceful & soundproof so very little outside & no inside hotel room noise. The drapes excluded the Christmas lights out in the street & to our delight we could play our own music on the sound system. We had two separate toilets, a walk-in robe, comfortable sized bathroom and great service. The location is superb and the staff attentive, happy and always polite.. We found the whole experience delightful.

The "main guy" at the desk is excellent: friendly and superior service, very helpful!

The room was on the small size, although very luxurious.

The location was great, we were greated well by the reception staff & given helpfull advise.

We went to have a celebratory champagne up stairs in the lounge. The young man clearly thought we shouldnt be there. Not very welcoming at all. He could have made this very uncomfortable if we allowed it. The restaurant had a very good menu however it was fully booked out for the 4 days of our stay so we were dissapointed with that but found many other great restaurants nearby. The breakfast was very over priced for what you got. You wonder why the hotel bothers.
