the very poor breakfast the manager was not helpful understood english when he wanted cash if we needed anything he did not choose to understand the weather turned very cold and he was very reluctant to put the heating on he is a very strange man

!F you want to sleep in a cold scenery with few confort, this is the place, The only positive aspect I can say is that this trap is located in Carcassone, which has a beautifull medieval fortified village.

Reading comments conclude Bernard did not like us specifically, unpolite, unkind, unhelpfull,almost swept us off the place, and pretended not understand english, made more questions about our trip than an imigration, authority, and repeated it the other day! Awfull !prejudice I guess. Rotten fruits at the breakfast, only cash, bathtube no shower, noisy place, we hated I do not recommendo ever at all.

Bernard was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a quiet location and a wonderfully decorated room.

The weather - it rained!

It was very well located and the hotel was quiet and very luxury. The free parking in the garden's area, very close to everything, I liked everything and the stuff was great.

Wonderful experience. Grand old house beautifully restored by Bernard the owner. Very comfortable and stylish. Bernard was an excellent host and helped plan our break. Stunning breakfast.

The hotel has been painstakingly restored to its historic grandeur. Everything is top quality and beautiful including the lovely back garden with fish pond. The host was very helpful and accommodating.

Excellent location. Extremely comfortable rooms, lovely fresh breakfast. Owner very friendly, helpful and interesting. Spoke English and gave lots of advice for visits.

Outstanding welcome and service

Location was good. The owner was very helpful.

I had not noted that payment was solely by cash, no credit cards accepted. Had I noted this prior to my visit, I would have cancelled. As a principal I avoid cash businesses. Handing over 1050 Euro in cash for a hand-written receipt is unacceptable in today's world. It also begs the ? of why provide credit card details at time of booking.

The rooms were very nice, the owner friendly and the breakfast was very nice.

Our host Bernard was excellent and his recently renovated estate (5 guest rooms) is immaculate and charming. A great location to reach both the old cite and the centre ville. Highly recommend it!

The breakfast was good.

The hotel is not situated in an attractive part of town on a busy main road. It is an old residence on three floors and my wife found the stairs very challenging. The host was over attentive and even entered our room while we were out to turn out the small light we had left on to light our return! Tea and coffee making in the room but he would not supply any milk. At 150 Euros per night (cash only) we thought it over expensive.

Quirky and quaint. Very well presented antique house. Busy noisy road just outside, but ameliorated mostly by double glazing. One room- no telly due period pieces, like mirror on wall. A small salon was provided to share with other rooms, that had a tv in it. Suits people looking for something other than the usual modern, bland style of hotel. Owner charming and helpful.

Personal service and attention provided by the owner. Situation was very suitable for a visit to the old city of Carcassonne and also to the more modern part of the town.

Excellent host. Room had fridge and tea and coffee. Old world charm.

Nothing everything was excellent

It was superb in all respects. The room was magnificent and the service truly excellent. Great location for exploring the castle.

Beautifully renovated typical old French house. Secure parking. Free use of delightful enclosed garden. Kind and helpful host who could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable.

Mr Bernard was very helpful to us. he arranged to be in for our early check-in and was very helpful in recommending a couple of restaurants in the city. we stayed in the appartment room which was beautifully appointed and i can strongly recommend to any groups of 3 or 4. it was spacious and comfortable. the AC was very efficient. breakfast was typical continental

Bernard, the manager, was one of the nicest people we have met in France. That's saying a lot since it was our 3rd trip there. Even though we had a language barrier ( my French is terrible!), Bernard made the efforts to convey answers to anything we might have needed. Which, by the hotel set up, was not much of anything else needed. It was convieniently located, super clean and with the most charming southern French country decor. I liked everything about Hotel Demeure Saint Louis. The house itself is lovely, very French in style in the best way - large, gracious rooms with some nice furniture and a lovely garden. My room and bathroom were large, with linen sheets, and Bernard, the owner, was very helpful. He gave recommendations for restaurants and for viewing Carcassonne which proved to be excellent.
