Hotel has a lovely garden and wonderful restaurant, a welcome respite from the dreadful room. Hotel is very tired. Furniture is very dated and carpet was stained. Windows in "sea view" rooms were so high you could not see anything while seated. Overall feeling of hotel was shabby and in great need of renovation. Bathroom was very small, but clean.

Exceptionally helpful front desk who made us very welcome. Great location on the seafront, beautiful garden, nice heated pool and only 15 minutes from the ferry. Didn't have chance to try the restaurant but the breakfast was good, if a little pricey. Surly barman more interested in closing up than serving customers - even at 9:30pm!

The hotel was booked primarily for its convenience to the ferry port at Ouistreham, having parking facilities and facilitating late evening and early morning check-ins/outs. It is on the promenade providing excellent sea-views. Our room was functional but very basic.

Parking was easy, the view from the balcony overlooking the sea nice and the food in the restaurant was the best we had on the Normandy coast. No Aircon so the balcony door needed to be open for fresh air, which meant the early morning noise of roadsweeper and delivery lorries meant no alarm was necessary.

The Walls had no sound proofing so you were continually disturbed by noisy guests Paid extra for a sea view but it’s on the mainroad so is very noisy from cars and a group of kids outside We ordered a double bed and were given two singles put together it was very uncomfortable Wifi access was with in a small bar area so could be overlooked No Tea making facilities

We stayed overnight at this hotel in order to catch the early ferry from Caen, the location was ideal only 20 minutes drive to the ferry port, the small town has plenty of character and history , The hotel was ideally situated on the promonade, to the rear is a very lovely garden which has a covered swimming pool. The hotel has good sized pubic areas, including restaurant and small bar area. Bedrooms where basic and clean and of a reasonable size. staff where very pleasant and helpful, a big plus pont for us was the large private parking area. I would definetly stay at this hotel if we travelled this route again. I feel that the hotel would possibly benefit from a refurbishment as it does look tired in areas, but no other complaints.

The restaurant and the quality of food was closer to 5* The service and staff made our stay there very comfortable and relaxing. Garden view rooms would benefit from airconditioning.

The sea view, closeness to the beach, cafes and the town centre with its beautiful hotel de ville park. In the hotel, the wonderful fast flow shower, comfortable bed and that view of the beach/sea. The micro size of 'luc sur Mer was terrific and wonderful for a short break. The only down side was the height of the toilet in our room - was it designed for a giraffe?!! The height of the toilet in our bathroom - far far too high - as mentioned above, we are not giraffes!

The staff were unfailingly friendly. The view directly onto the sea delightful. The food in the restaurant is truly world class, with a multitude of subtleties. I can honestly say that I haven't eaten so well in years. The hotel is perhaps in need of a refurb. But it's faded glamour is also a part of it's charm. So this is perhaps not a criticism.

Staff were nice, swimming pool terrific, nice courtyard. If the advertised fitness centre has anything to do with your choice do not stay here!!! It is a joke. None of the equipment works properly, the exercise bike had no batteries, and the running machine is dangerous in several ways. It is false advertising to say this hotel has a fitness centre and the owner ought to be ashamed. The gym also opens at 9 A.M., which is too late for anyone I know who works out in the morning, and they would only change it to 8:30 rather than my request of 7-730.
