We stayed at Domaine De Beaupre over the Christmas holiday and were delighted by our choice. The owners were very attentive to our needs, even helping with our daughter's surprise gift from Santa. The family suite was huge and extremely comfortable for our family of 5. The grounds are lovely and the breakfast extremely nice. The staff provided much help in finding everything we needed for a lovely stay in the French countryside -- from quaint cities to tour to a restaurant that was open on Christmas day for us. Very high praise for Domaine De Beaupre!
The Hotel has a very friendly atmosphere and offers a spacious public area
The rooms are somewhat small. There is no room for a second chair
The entrance when you drive up is amazing. Not at all what we expected. The lobby was so beautiful with a grand staircase. Our room was very clean ,our own balcony with large glass doors and such beautiful furniture. The bed & linens were great.Such a lovely place to stay. Our stay was short so did not get to visit the little gift shop.
Staff did not tell us that most restaurants closed on Wednesday @ 6.00 pm,no place to have dinner & the hotel offered no food not ,even a small snack.
Much like spending the weekend in your ( very rich ) grandmothers mansion . This hotel has all the facilities but none of the usual uniform modernity. things like the bath tub have proabably seen better days but this is what makes this hotel very charming and differnt. The owners are in fact art dealers and the whole mansion is used as an exhibition hall. They are extremely nice and welcome you like family. A great hotel in fact .
I am young ( at heart ) and I didn't mind, but for those who would need disabled access, this hotel is not for them. There is , for instance, no lift.
Domaine de Beaupre is an enchanting place. The owners are wonderful people with a great love of whimisical but wonderful art and also lovers of jazz. The décor is lovely and the rooms are spacious, clean and enchanting. Breakfast was excellent and we also enjoyed having a glass of wine in the bar in the evening soaking in the sounds and sights of this lovely chateau. Easy walk into the center of Guebwiller and to hillside vineyards which offer some great opportunities for walking. Close to the Le Grand Ballon and to many excellent hiking trails.
Nobody spoke English or German. Staff did not even make an attempt to try to answer our questions
Building has lots of character Artwork on display Friendly and helpful staff Comfortable, clean and spacious room
Sadly, Guebwiller itself. Couldn't find much in the way of attractions. Best stay at the hotel and luxuriate.
The words 'guests' and 'hospitality' would not be euphemisms here - staying here really was like being welcomed into a family home, albeit on a rather magnificent scale. Very spacious and airy and tasteful - both the public areas and our family suite. A range of quirky and entertaining artwork throughout the hotel. There was an art exhibition (we were given a private view as soon as we expressed an interest), and a free jazz concert in the garden (a weekly event), during our stay. Superb buffet breakfast every morning. Our hosts were very welcoming in an entirely natural and unfussy way. As far removed from a hotel chain as it is possible to imagine.
Our son would have liked a swimming pool in the hotel grounds. There is a public pool nearby.
Domaine de Beaupre is a gorgeous, carefully restored chateau from the 19th century that doubles as an art museum. After a busy day touring crowded Alsatian wine towns, we were delighted to retreat to this quiet and extremely comfortable hotel. The second-floor room had French doors that opened to a large terrace with a great view of a hillside vineyard nearby. The bed was large with high-thread-count sheets and a great mattress. It rained that night and we loved the sound and the freshness of the air. Morning breakfast was excellent, and we enjoyed the art that is all over the hotel. Merbach, with its beautiful abbey, is just up the road. Overall this was a delightful place and we look forward to returning.
We were unclear that breakfast was not included in the room price.
Being a former estate, one has the opportunity to enjoy historic grandeur while viewing contemporary artwork displayed within the property. There’s an enclosed attached porch for breakfast, and a well stocked bar with leather sofas to relax. The entire staff notice details that make your stay special, such as a huge selection of French teas, quality linens, etc. My room also had a large balcony. The entrance stairway is impressive, and honestly, the photo of the exterior on the website should be updated as the old tree in front was removed to expand the parking. You can walk to town, and there’s a bus stop a block away if you’re traveling to Mulhouse. The hotel has cultural events once a month, if you want to enquire on what’s scheduled. Overall, a most pleasant stay! You MUST stop at Domaines Schlumberger Winery to taste local wines, and walk up the mountain side where the vines grow to smell the fragrance if it’s summer!
The decoration and style of the residence was very attractive and the staff welcoming.
The only downside was the breakfast. While many options were available the coffee was airline quality and overpriced for a continental breakfast.
fantastic people/owners and very individuel service
well, the coffee was a little waterie.....
The fantastic setting, I took some clients there who absolutely loved the place. The bedrooms are beautiful and the whole place is wonderfully renovated with a lot of care.
Beautiful park around the premises, wonderful welcome and all necessary facilities while you felt like going back to the old times. Could have stayed longer!
Room price far to expensive for this hotel & service
