Completely renovated in May 2008, the hotel offers elegantly modern and luxurious rooms, some of which have their own private terrace.
Score from 83 reviews Very good
The hotel and the restaurant, Les Terrasses, were entirely renovated and they welcome you in resolutely modern and sober interior design.

In the heart of Colmar’s Old Town, close to the Petite Venise district and the famous Rue des Marchands, Saint-Martin features peaceful rooms decorated in traditional Alsatian style.

Surrounded by greenery, The Saint Barnabé & Spa is located in the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges, just a 20-minute drive from Colmar and Mulhouse.

The words 'guests' and 'hospitality' would not be euphemisms here - staying here really was like being welcomed into a family home, albeit on a rather magnificent scale. Very spacious and airy and tasteful - both the public areas and our family suite. A range of quirky and entertaining artwork throughout the hotel. There was an art exhibition (we were given a private view as soon as we expressed an interest), and a free jazz concert in the garden (a weekly event), during our stay. Superb buffet breakfast every morning. Our hosts were very welcoming in an entirely natural and unfussy way. As far removed from a hotel chain as it is possible to imagine.
Our son would have liked a swimming pool in the hotel grounds. There is a public pool nearby.
Being a former estate, one has the opportunity to enjoy historic grandeur while viewing contemporary artwork displayed within the property. There’s an enclosed attached porch for breakfast, and a well stocked bar with leather sofas to relax. The entire staff notice details that make your stay special, such as a huge selection of French teas, quality linens, etc. My room also had a large balcony. The entrance stairway is impressive, and honestly, the photo of the exterior on the website should be updated as the old tree in front was removed to expand the parking. You can walk to town, and there’s a bus stop a block away if you’re traveling to Mulhouse. The hotel has cultural events once a month, if you want to enquire on what’s scheduled. Overall, a most pleasant stay! You MUST stop at Domaines Schlumberger Winery to taste local wines, and walk up the mountain side where the vines grow to smell the fragrance if it’s summer!
The decoration and style of the residence was very attractive and the staff welcoming.
The only downside was the breakfast. While many options were available the coffee was airline quality and overpriced for a continental breakfast.
fantastic people/owners and very individuel service
well, the coffee was a little waterie.....
The fantastic setting, I took some clients there who absolutely loved the place. The bedrooms are beautiful and the whole place is wonderfully renovated with a lot of care.
Beautiful park around the premises, wonderful welcome and all necessary facilities while you felt like going back to the old times. Could have stayed longer!
Room price far to expensive for this hotel & service
Large room Art works
Town Breakfast a bit disorganized
WOW! What a wonderful place! If they had a restaurant, we might never have left the premises.
A beautiful, peaceful place. A romantic environment in which to stay. Breakfast was good.
Nice hotel and nice staff; beautiful spacious rooms.
Internet didn't work; hotel has no restaurant (although advertised) and breakfast is somewhat overpriced.
The mansion is gorgeous, the grounds are wonderful, the decor is beautiful. The food was great and the owners were terrific.
Our room was very very small and the bathroom could have been renovated to a bit higher level to equal the beauty of the place.
The place is charming and furnished creatively with lots of art and nice touches. The room was comfortable and I would stay there again.
I thought the breakfast was not worth 13 euros. I would skip breakfast next time.
Unusual spacious art-filled hotel. The old town is lovely.
Odd atmosphere, distant proprietors. Wi-Fi would not work.
Very surprising. We arrived on a Tuesday and they have regular Jazz and buffet evenings on a Tuesday so that was a nice surprise. They have other themed evenings too. We had booked table DHote but when we arrived found out it was to be a buffet with the jazz. Not sure where else to eat - I suspect you would have to walk into town or drive? When you are in the chateau however you forget that you are near a large town. You are in a world of charm and it is definitely worth a sop over on a Tuesday would be good. Lovely room but bathroom could do with an update. Lovely interesting lounges and art to look at. There is an art gallery in the basement. Full of surprise. Internet okay downstairs. Breakfast was okay but not the best we had experienced and it was 13 euros per person. For a nights stop it made a pleasant change and nice evening with the jazz and buffet. Parking good. Would recommend the chateau but not the town.
The location. It is on the outskirts of a largish town - shame but inside the chateau you forget about the town. Breakfast could have been better for the price.
Excellent room in a very imposing Chateau.
When booking I requested a table in the restaurant for dinner. On arrival I was advised they had a Jazz Concert with a buffet that was fully booked. The manager was quite disdainful about the matter and gave us a recommendation for another hotel restaurant, which was poor.
The beautiful 19th century castle like building. The park, the art. the room with a large terrace.
Beautiful building and gardens
No decent restaurants within walking distance, as far as we were made aware
