Domaine de Montaigu

Lovely place and lovely people. Magnificent former farm beautifully converted to luxurious accommodation in quiet village location, but just a few miles from town of Soissons. Lovely gardens (decorative and vegetable) and charming friendly Jack Russells. Phillipe drove out to buy fresh bread/croissants for included breakfast - delicious!

Limited English spoken (not a criticism - we should speak better French!) and out TomTom initially took us along 'wrong' end of the lane, which was blocked - not a problem to re-route by going 'round the block'.

The setting was spectacular. The room was very "classy". The breakfast was excellent. the people were wonderful and most helpful - they even booked a dinner for us a local restaurant that was incredible.

It is a little out of the way and a bit hard to find BUT the search was most worthwhile.

Extremely good, incredible location (France meets Jane Austen). Town's a bit dead, but if you look for a quiet remote ambiance, look no further. Breakfast is not elaborate but so incredibly tasty.

The host and hostess speak little to no english, so brush up on your french! ("checking-out" for instance is not part of their vocabulairy). But then again, you won't find anyone nicer than this charming couple running their fairytale-like B&B in their fabulous mansion.

We were rather suprised that our bed was never made during the three days we stayed there.

relaxed but somewhat remote location. friendly owner (only french). clean facilities and nice atmosphere, no complaints and very good value overall.

Very pleasant surroundings and comfortable room. The proprietors were very welcoming and friendly.

Price was a bit high compared to much more plush hotels we had stayed in on our trip (which were about 10% cheaper, with much more upmarket facilities and fantastic breakfast fare). The breakfast was very basic...bread and jam.

Although as anticipated, slightly remote location with nearest worthwhile evening meal facilities at least quarter of an hour distant.

I wanted somewhere to stay for the night after a trip with my 4 year old daughter to Disneyland and just loved the pictures of this building, and then was grabbed by the price. The location is secluded but accessible, grounds are beautiful, room was quaint and very comfortable. The owners were lovely and couldn't have been more friendly, polite and hospitable. The Monsieur didn't speak English while his wife could. The breakfast in the hall was lovely and we felt no pressure to hurry and leave. I can't recommend the Domaine enough. I felt so relaxed that I would definately consider returing and using the location and a base for a longer stay in the region (very close to some beautiful areas and castles).

Our room had a smaller single bed with a curtain divider. Unfortunately the dorma window didn't have any curtains/blinds so the room was far too bright to get my daughter to sleep in the evening. If I was being pedantic the bath had a tap-shower with no curtain/enclosure so was only good for a rinse-down rather than a relaxing shower.

Beautiful. Totally unexpected with very warm welcome. Even opened up the swimming pool for us. They recommended a very good restaurant for us. We were only there for one day but could have stayed for much longer.

l'accueil des propriétaires et de leur fils, la chambre joliment décorée. J'aurai beaucoup aimé aller à la piscine mais temps pluvieux et très froid, pas de chance pour moi...

les réseaux de téléphone ne passent pas, parfais pour un weekend romantique mais plus délicat pour un déplacement professionnel. Par contre, accès wifi gratuit et efficace.

Lage - Romantik - Stille - Geschichte

Tout était parfait ! L'accueil chaleureux des propriétaires qui vous reçoivent en amis, la chambre impeccable au décor soigné, le petit déjeuner dans la grande salle à manger baignée de lumière dans une ambiance campagne luxueuse/château. Nous avons rencontré un couple passionné de vieilles pierres qui ont sû redonner une âme à ces beaux bâtiments dignes d'un "relais-château". Bravo et merci pour ces instants de plaisir !

De kamer was helemaal in oude engelse stijl met uitzicht op de tuin, rustige ligging, geweldig oud pand helemaal in stijl.

Tout nous a plu : la campagne environnante, le calme, le confort de la chambre et en particulier de la literie, le très beau jardin et la maison de caractère, l'accueil authentique et l'excellent petit-déjeuner.

Le décor de la chambre, le petit parc, le petit-déjeuner dans une très belle salle commune; l'accueil et la simplicité des propriétaires.
