We didn't arrive until very late after a long day travelling and all places were closed so Emanuel made us a dish of cheese and terrine with a bottle of estate wine. Domonique ? Was so so nice and gave us the back Gite when we requested to stay for a second night, it was a self contained apartment so we made our own delicious meal on the second night so just like home away from home but in country France, fantastic !! Two very happy 60+ travellers from Australia
The pleasant hosts provided useful information about places to visit in the area. The room was luxurious and quiet with views overlooking the vineyard. Parking is no problem. We enjoyed a dinner there with other guests.
Nothing. But do drive there from the Venterol side to avoid long drive on single lane road.
Superior suite was very spacious Nature surrounding us was beautifull and so silent. Very friendly staff.
Price is too high for what you get, it said free toiletteries but there was only a used bottle of shower gel and a tiny piece of soap. Breakfast was only bread (which was not always fresh) butter and jam.
What a beautiful property, and lovely owners. The rooms are so thoughtfully decorated, and dinner with the family was such a treat. Agree with all the great reviews!
Not a thing!!
lovely owners, excellent location, super delicious breakfast, extra nice dinners and wine-tasting:-)
Gorgeous and beautifully restored chateau, located within a vibrant family owned vineyard surrounded by magnificent mountain views. Lovely, fragrant, friendly, healthy, comfortable, delicious, creative, and fun! At the top of our favorite experiences in southern France! The owners are an absolute delight. We also enjoyed a wonderful tour of the impressive, state-of-the-art Domaine de Provensol winery operations given by the delightful son of the owners. Domaine de Provensol wine is delicious and organically produced "from only the handpicked grapes that are ripe enough to eat." Dinner with the owners and guests included tasting several vintages and types of their wines.
The trip was amazing. The owners were so gracious. I arrived completely exhausted and after a nap and a shower I found they had set up a chair on the terrace for me to read. Later they brought out glasses of wine and maps and helped me plan my next days adventures. Then we wandered down to the cherry trees to eat cherry right off of the trees with their charming dog (he likes cherries). They pointed me to a fantastic bistro in Nyons which is 5 km away. The next day I followed their suggested route and had a great time enjoying markets, the olive road and roman ruins. When I got home they had invited a British friend and her husband over for wine so I would have someone to converse with. Their friends were so darling and fun to be with. The inn is an addition to a historic farm house and they have done a beautiful job tying it together. They took such steps to make the addition environmentally friendly that they even lined with walls between the plaster with lavendar straw as insulation. The breakfasts were great with jam, juice and honey they produce on the farm, the rooms were spotlessly clean and I joined them for dinner one night which was excellent and was accompanied by wine from their vineyard. I speak no French and their English is limited but very sufficient (the British friend is actually their English teacher and they are both practicing very hard). I appreciated how willing they were to muddle through with me. Each morning I went for a run in the vineyard which was beautiful. It was a magical trip that felt like I was with family friends instead of in a hotel. I am grateful for their gracious hospitality. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel and the beatiful family that owns it! I can't wait to go back. Thank you my new friends for a fantastic time!
The room I stayed in wasn't air conditioned and it was a bit warm. I don't run very hot so I was fine and the 2nd night they offered to move me to a room that was air conditioned but I didn't need to because it had cooled down a bit. If you run hot, you may just want to send an email and double check on the room if you are there in the hot months (July and August). Also, some of the rooms aren't handicapped accesible. The owners replied to all of my emails quickly before my visit so I know they would be happy answer any questions to ensure you had a perfect stay!
location, quietness, wine & food, friendliness of the family
The setting was stunning. The service was personal and attentive. The decor was tasteful with nice antiques and lovely paintings.
