Score from 201 reviews Very good
Very close to Montsegur - set in a quiet cul-de-sac. Beautiful grounds. Rooms very spacious and quiet. Very clean, good quality linen. Very comfortable. The owners went out of their way to make it an exceptional stay. Spoke very good English. (Which was a bonus for me learning French) . Would highly recommend this property for a relaxing getaway. Close to all major historical towns.
Excellent welcoming as if friends into hosts quality home. Superb continental breakfast. Beautiful grounds and safe secure parking even for our cloth top BMW. High quality british bed, best nights' sleep in 6 weeks of travelling around France. If the sole criteria for hotels obtaining stars was based on quality of mattress thus sleep, quality of food, and quality of conversation this is five star. They even chat in english for those not conversant in french!
Neither the property nor the hosts could be faulted! They deserve to succeed at this new venture.
We stayed in several places in the region and Hameau Baylesse really stood head and shoulders above the rest, mostly because the hosts Pascale & Jean-Jacques were incredibly welcoming, kind and helpful. Each day started with a delicious copious breakfast, our room was clean, very comfortable and spacious. They had a wealth of books, walking guides and helpful suggestions for where to eat out in the evenings. They also do amazing table d'hôte at home in the evening. The house is set in large gardens and looks onto the hillside. There is parking onsite and it was a great spot to be based for a few days to explore the many beauty spots of the region
This brilliant chambre d'hote is a great place to stay with wonderful views of the Pyrenees. The building has a lovely atmosphere and is filled with antiques and the rooms are beautifully done out. It has a pool and also jacuzzi which was a real treat after our long journey. The garden is also lovely especially on a summer evening. The owners are really friendly and lovely people. They know a lot about the local area and are very helpful. Breakfast was excellent with lovely fresh bread, criossants, local cheeses, fruits etc. We wished we could stay for longer!
There was nothing to 'not like' about this place but if you would like dinner you need to book in advance or drive to some local restaurants. We went to Mirepoix which was a lovely town.
