Location and helpful staff
very helpful friendly staff and great food.
Great central location in Roscoff. Small bedroom but nicely presented.
Warm welcome from very helpful and courteous staff. Pleasant and uniquely decorated rooms. A very good and reasonably priced restaurant.
Having to leave!!!!
The bedroom was comfortable. Evening meal was quite good and not too expensive. Good location for centre of town and harbour. good free parking nearby.
The room had a musty smell. Opening the window did little to help as the smell of sewage drifted in . Avoid room 25 if you book. Lucky it was for one night only otherwise we would have moved on .
Location Cleanliness Value
Language difficulty Very main road - Noise
Although our room was at the front, we were on the third floor and found it quiet enough to sleep with windows open. Situated well for a good choice of restaurants.
Chez Janie Hotel du Centre is a comfortable hotel in central location, close to restaurants. Recommend The Creperier La Post which was opposite the Hotel, staff very friendly also The Boulangerie across the road for breakfast. We were in room 26 on 2nd floor which was comfortable and clean, with small balcony overlooking the harbour, recommend harbour view. Recommend the walk round ile de baz. 15 minute ferry ride from pier which is a 10 minute walk from hotel.
No lift recommend light suitcase if on second floor .
The room was very small, noisy, without lift and conditioning and the view from the window was on th roof
very noisy in morning no lifts , reception unsatisfactory
The excellent location at the port and in the middle of the old town.
Very goog loction
checked in at 1900 hrs and checked out at 0800 hrs so not much time there. All very pleasant and efficient. Would stay there again.
Our room was newly decorated and very clean, we would come again as the price and the location were ideal.
Noise - from the back there was a party of youngsters shouting until 3.30 am - hopefully a one off but obviously no gendames patrolling or locals would tell them to shut up, at the front the bins were emptied at 5.30am which were very noisy - great place but take the ear plugs.
The hotel is so central the staff are great very helpful great as a stopover on our way home we have stayed there every year for the past ten years on our way back home and have never been disappointed yes
Lovely sea view from the breakfast room.
Broken towel heater. No hair drier. No tea making facilities in room for Brits!
Very chic decor; rooms pleasantly large with views over Roscoff. Breakfast very attractive in dining room overlooking old harbour.
Shower head in our bathroom was broken and the bulb over the mirror had gone. We were on the 3rd floor and it was easy to knock your head walking upstairs - no warning sign.
Good clean rooms, attentive staff, nice ambience
Would have liked a cooler duvet or blanket. Room could have been aired a little better.
Stayed here overnight before catching the ferry to UK. Great location and nice room with sea view. Didnt have time for breakfast.
evening menu wasnt vegetarian friendly but plenty of places nearby to eat
Lots of stairs.
Charming little hotel
Rooms on 3 floors and no lift. We were not informed of this. 53 large steps to top floor! No help offered with baggage. Our room, No 34, on the top floor, was very small and had an extremely small double bed under slopping beams - making it dangerous for the person on the right to get up at night. When told of my wife's painful recently operated knee (ref. Tavistock Abbey Surgery), I was told no other rooms were available. I tried to change to hotels after the first night (was offered a far superior room with sea view and balcony at Hotel Talabardon - for the same price!) but the Chez Janie management insisted on payment for the entire booking. Now offered room on first floor! This in fact had been available the day before, ie we were lied to by the receptionist. We took this room. WC (totally unventilated) remote from bathroom. No simple tea /coffee making facilities in any rooms. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The rooms look like a bit of bad DIY. Possibly suitable as |Youth Hostel but prices on a par with properly appointed hotels. After all the room problems they even had the nerve to charge 130E (ie more than your quoted price 357/3 = 119E) for the first night. Also we noted that the tariff displayed at reception was 69E per night plus 25E (= 99E) for a sea view Security terrible - reception very rarely staffed and all room keys clearly on display just inside entrance door. I think you would be wise to remove this 'hotel' from your listings
Good as a stop over in Roscoff for the night. Motel like room that was clean and basic
This is more a stop over place, lacks the charm of boutique B&B's
Location is great, right on the Port and near everything. There are some great restaurants nearby and the buildings are very impressive. A small town feel in a thriving port !!
The lack of tea/coffee making facilities which, although it's common in France, would have been a noice touch. Surprising how much you miss a cup of coffee first thing in the morning or a cup of tea last thing at night when you haven't got immediate acces to make one.
Chez Janie-Hotel du Centre is very central to restaurants, the ferry across to L'ile de Batz, within walking distance of the main Roscoff to Plymouth ferry and provides rooms exactly like their advertised pictures, which many places don't. It was clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The bed was comfy and the view out across the harbour was delightful. The staff were extremely helpful, which was important, as my French is not that good.
I would have liked a restaurant menu to view instead of being directed to a blackboard outside, but this was a minor irritation. I didn't try the restaurant, as a result, but the bar staff seemed friendly enough and they may have misinterpreted my request.
