The area of Vicennes was recommended to us by a family friend who used to live in Paris. It is far enough away from the center that the prices are reasonable for Paris yet the Metro and rer connections to the city center are quick, easy and reasonable. Getting close to the hotel was easy with a navigator (gps) but managing the 1-way streets was (as one reviewer already said) a bit confusing. Parking was on the street but was possible for me just in front of the hotel. The staff were happy to advise me that they would put the money in the parking machines and renew them every few hours. They will need your car key in order to put the parking vouchers inside and viewable through the front window. Parking was 6 Euro per day as a result and my car was literally at the front door. One man on the staff was very helpful for us, Xavier. Xavier was friendly, able to help us with any question we had and spoke English well enough for us all to communicate with no problem. Breakfast at the hotel was a good European breakfast with yogurt and cereal in addition to the usual breads, jam, butter, coffee, tea, chocolate and at less than 9 Euro was comparable to what one would pay outside the hotel. The room was clean as were the bed linens and although "Paris small" there was enough sleeping room for 3 (me, wife and adult son) together with a small armoire and a bath with shower. Water was hot and had good pressure for a nice shower. Towels were good and pillows and extra blanket were in the armoire. We only stayed two nights and one of these was on 1 Jan when almost all businesses around the area were closed. We didn't see the local area, but were I to return, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel and would love to explore the local shops and restaurants. Since the hotel is vertical, there is a spiral staircase to the sleeping room floors. It is narrow and there is no lift/elevator. People who are physically unable to climb stairs would not enjoy this. As we three are fit and athletic we didn't have a problem with carrying bags up 4 flights of stairs to the top floor. Large bags present a problem and would be compounded if they were heavy.

Nice small hotel located in a pretty area ideal for a shorter trip. Very easy connection to center of Paris (about 100 meters to terminus station of Metro - can be an advantage in crowded capital, you always get a seat). Lovely decorated room, smaller but spacious enough, with a very nice view at the Chateau de Vincennes. Nice staff. Very good price/performance ratio. Absence of elevator is not a problem - after walking the whole day in the city you are in shape! :-) Will try to make there a booking for a future trip to Paris! Even though the room was very clean there was surprisingly a lot of mold in the shower - but I am sure that the attentive staff of Hotel du Chateau will clean it soon! :-)

We got a very nice room for a great price. It's cheaper than what we could find right in Paris, but very close to the subway, so it's easy to get into the city. Our room had a view of the beautiful Château, which is also worthwhile to visit. The room had a lot of atmosphere to it. It came with a fan, so it was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's a small room...not fancy. The shower is quite small, so you have to be a little careful. Also, it's a little tricky to open the old- fashioned door with the key, so you have to hold the keys carefully so they don't drop. The bathroom has no opaque shade, although we found that it was light enough without turning on the light, so that was a good solution.

Location, Locatiom, Location. The Nottingham Hill of Paris. Superb cafe,s and restaurants, shops galore and amazing bakers and confectioners. Line 1 of the Paris metro system terminates at Vincennes and is a 1 minute walk away, seating never a problem obviously ! Journey time into Paris central Concorde is 18 minutes on brand new state of the art driverless trains. The hotel though there was no air con, had placed a huge standing fan in our room which was much appreciated and well used, what was also well used was the super fast wi-fi. As we had toured Europe by car, parking had been the highest of our priorities when selecting this hotel unfortuneately there was none at the hotel on our arrival. It took a little time finding the hotel but this was down to the work being carried out nearby hence some roads were blocked off. We did find street parking nearby which turned out to be free at week ends on bank holidays plus the whole of August which turned out perfect after all.

A friendly hotel with a sharming Manager which is a luxury in Paris as most of French employees in general don't present any smile. In this hotel, you got the smile, the good service, clean and it's very close to the metro station and Chateau de Vincennes. It is family friendly. I certainly recommend it to anybody. Rahal

Very close to where our daughter and her family live. Very easy to get into the city on the metro. Very close to a very convenient Metro line. Staff were helpful and friendly but did not speak much English. Free wifi in our romm. Nice view overlooking the castle. Good value for the price. The room and bathroom were small but well appointed so we did not mind that too much. The rooms are on the second and third floors with a rather steep staircase and no elevator. Be prepared for a workout!

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the location for the event we were attending. We requested a quiet room and they gave us one. I liked the quirkiness of the interior and the stairs gave it a pleasant atomosphere. The room was very dark but it did not really matter as we were not in it much and we had requsted a quiet room so it was at the back, hence bein dark.
