Experience truly comfortable accommodations and sample delicious cuisine at the Hôtel Restaurant du Lac de l'Ailette, located in an exceptional green setting on the edge of a lake.

Located in a 1.5-hectare park in the village of Clermont-les-Fermes, this B&B is set in an 18th-century building. It features a heated indoor pool, a games room and provides free Wi-Fi access.
Score from 141 reviews Excellent
I arrived at short notice and was warmly greater. Their restaurant is an easy 300m walk away from the hotel, and was very good . The breakfast was at the hotel and had great croissants and home made jams.
Excellent breakfast and the food in the restaurant was of a good standard.
We asked for a double bed and were given two small singles pushed together in a very small room. The shower room was thei most spacious area. The wifi didn't work and the restaurant was almost out of the village on the very busy main road.
Hotel was fine but wifi was terrible hotels must stop advertising wifi when it is bad
Wifi not available in rooms and not available at all in the morning.
The hotel really should have told us about the fair, we would have gone elsewhere
The typically French quality of the well kept, quiet hotel located in the centre of the village. It is personally run and has none of the features of chain hotels. Comfortable, clean rooms and discreetly helpful service. The restaurant is a short way up the road and serves excellent food - amazing value. My husband had snails in parsley butter and I had coquilles St Jacques in cheese sauce - delicious; then we both had trout with excellent vegetables. There was also a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and cheese and anchovy toasts. the cheese trolley followed, then puddings. All this with wine came to 55 euros, or 44 pounds at current rates. Of course if you don't like French food this type of restaurant would not please you.
Room too small for comfort; breakfast with burned buns; difficult to park in case of too many cars; we didn't make use of restaurant because of poor reviews
Room was very clean, had AC and very pretty. Staff was very friendly. A nice surprise and not really that far from Laon in beautifull countryside with a lot of history. Loved the old pictures throughout the hotel.
Breakfast was basic. No restaurant closeby (pizza was offered which was very forthcoming).
Breakfast v poor Not very clean Not very welcoming Room v cramped Very dated decor & furnishings. Try the gittes
Comfortable room, super King-Size bed, recently refurbished bathroom, everything works properly. Wi-fi access easy and reliable.
Poor breakfast!!! Almost anything to eat, just few cheap jams and no staff to assist you! No cappuccino. No fully english breakfast!
The food in the restaurant was good and the service also.
We had no hot water in the bathroom.
The lady behind the bar was very friendly even though she spoke no English & we speak no French. Do buy a pizza from her or try the salad over the road, but just not on a Sunday. Nothing is open in the village not even the hotel bar. The WIFI was good.
Firstly the so called breakfast, only cakes, bread, 1 jam, no fruit, yogurts, cheese, no plates, we used our saucer from our cups, ervery poor. No one there to serve you just get it yourself! Flies everywhere, €8 each joke! There is no access for tea or coffee in your room, the main light in room was on all night, when I told the housemaid in morning she jestered to us to unscrew the light blubs & then in French, not 5 star", well that she did get right. Do not eat at the restaurant associated with hotel, it's up the road about 400 mts. When they ask if you are from the hotel you are put out the back in a poor excuse for a sunroom. None of the conversation is in English only french. Then the menu arrives! All we could understand was soup, omelette & what my husband thought to be chicken salad. It turned out to be chicken livers on lettuce with a lot of oil, not nice. Then the soup I think they scraped the bottom of the saucepan from last month for this yuk! Too isolated, nothing around or open on a Sunday. Reims about 20 ks south.
Location quiet although close to main road. Good off-road parking. Excellent meal at restaurant up road owned by same family. Room small but well planned and very clean. The best French breakfast we have had in a long time. Friendly staff.
The welcome. In good location for our travels. Enjoyable food. WiFi access.
Good location for walkers undertaking the Via Francengina. A good restaurant 300m away run by the same family with good value for money meals.
This was a real last minute booking but they were more than ready for us. We drove to the restaurant (lazy) and enjoyed our meal. This hotel looked very wheelchair friendly.
Not the Hotels fault but we booked on the basis that the APP (on the phone) said it was close and we were a bit desperate to stop. The APP seems to work as the crow flies so although it was only 7Km from our position it took 35 minutes to get there - if we'd pulled over and checked one stop earlier on the A26 this would have been different though.
Access from the motorway. Reception by the patronne was very friendly and precise. Room was large, clean, comfortable. Bathroom was refurbed, basic but very clean. Comfortable bed
Breakfast was not good value at 8 Euros as there was not enough choice. However it was far better than the evening meal. Highly unrecommended. The 300metre walk was ok but the meal was awful, even though we chose from a 29 Euros and 23 Euros menu respectively. In particular, the vegetables reminded us of the worst kind of school-overcooked mush. Room at 60 Euros was good value, but the additional 96 Euros for eve meal, wine, drinks and breakfast was very poor, sadly.
We arrived late and yet a note was left out for us with our keys. The restaurant was good too.
Friendly staff very clean and modern food good, but restaurant 300 yards from hotel quiet and peaceful
