Staff very friendly. A very neat, pretty and clean hotel, very good experience there.

It is a little bit away from Vernon centre, and public transport in Vernon is not that convinient so probably someone seeking for easy access to public transport should consider its location. But anyway, very satified with all the other conditions of the hotel!

Room is clean. Washing room is big. Free private parking. The staff is very nice. My friend left his iphone in the reception and the owner of the hotel found it, giving it back to us.

It is not so close to the Giverny. But if you drive a car, it won't be a problem.

The people we had dealings with,which I think were a family and their staff could not have been nicer.they were very helpfull to us as we do not speak french. Any thing we asked was not a problem. Compared with our first experience in France it was a pleasure and we will be going back there...... Many thanks to them all. Angela & David Hogan.

Cleanliness and friendliness

The host/hostess were friendly and knew enough English to help with my queries. I brought cheese and wanted this kept chilled until I left they were more than happy enough to accommodate me with this gesture.

It was a little noisy when a lot of people were moving around upstairs but I think this was due to the fact that the floors are not carpeted.. I would like to see the making of tea or coffee facilities in the rooms or placed somewhere, although the hosts were more than happy to do this when they were around. As a person who does not speak french I would like to be presented with an itemised account instead of just being given the amount owing I do not know what I paid for. Do not know if I was over charged.

Only €60 and nor far (6 miles) from Monet's garden at Giverny. Nothing special, ticked all the boxes. Absolutely fine for what we wanted.

The owners were friendly and helpful, the location and price provide an alternative to more expensive stays closer to Giverny, which was my destination. This is a utilitarian sort of stay, not beautiful, but clean and well run. Those with automobiles will find ample parking, and it's doable using the train. There is a local bus line that goes right past the hotel, but it has a limited schedule.

The Hotel du Haut Marais is in a business-industrial area, outside Vernon where the train station is located. It's a fairly long walk from the train, and not a very pretty walk.

Friendly staff

The location was so close to Giverny- I got to the gardens early. It was wonderful. The tub in the room was huge! Tv was good. Staff was onsite which was hepful as I got lost on the way so was late arriving. Very warm welcome in spite of the late hour. Breakfast was pretty good. Would have enjoyed some eggs. The only protien was yogurt and cheese. The small gardens out back were very pretty and fragrant in the late evening.

Very warm in room. A small fan would have been perfect. I opened the widows, but too many bugs came in so had to close them.

We didn't stay long. We got there late in the evening, and left late in the morning, but the receptionist (who knew limited English), was extremely pleasant to deal with, and very nice. The room we got was pretty spacious, and was very simply furnished (minimalistic). Breakfast was also basic (croissants, breads, jams, spreads etc) but they were nice enough to make us tea and coffee. It's not a place you write home about, but it was clean, secure, comfy and friendly. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

We didn't have much luggage, but if you are traveling with large bags, make sure you ask for a room downstairs, they don't have elevators.

We stayd at the hotel for nine nights. It is bad situated in an industrial area. I you are intending to visit Vernon it can be useful to check up other alternativs.

Location.

It is comfortable and friendly, especially with a dog as you can walk it along the river easily. Breakfast coffee was very good. The cafe / Bistro in front was excellent and the food very good and excellent value.

Voilà un hôtel pour amoureux du kitch, grosses fleurs plastiques poussiéreuses. Odeur insupportable de déodorants de toilettes, déco triste à mourir, aucune sympathie ni sourire du personnel
