Hôtel du Lion d'Or Louvre5 Rue De La Sourdière, 01. Louvre - Châtelet, 75001 Paris (Show map) Good, Score from 344 reviews“The location is excellent, less than 10 min walk to Louvre Museum. It's clean and comfort. The room I stayed at is an apartment for 4, there's enough room for the 4 of us and I'm happy with that.”

The room was really spacious and great for the kids. The shower pressure was great too! The room had a very "French" feel to it! No lift! Had to carry luggage up 2 flights of narrow stairs.

For Paris the studio apartment was great for a family. The kid's had their own loft space and a bed each. It was good to have facilities to make breakfast or hot drinks and a fridge. If you are travelling with a lot of luggage and book a studio you could find yourself on the 4th floor with no lift. We had someone help us up to the room but no one available for our departure.

I loved the staff, having free internet available, and the location so close to the things I wanted to see in Paris. This was my first time to Paris. This hotel is quiet, charming, and oh the rooms are so lovely. I didn't like that my sister and friend could not find the hotel. It is on a quiet street which means the street does not have a lot of activities and is not well known. But I loved the atmosphere, the sound of the birds in the morning, and the funny little gay club at night.

The location was fantastic and within walking distance of shopping and booking tours. The sheets and towels were clean. Fresh towels everyday. We had breakfast everyday in the hotel (across the street). The ease of getting to & from the hotel was great. Restraunts were across the street, plus a little grocery store at the end of the street. Loved the coffee machine, cheese, baked offerings. The picture of the room was not what the room turned out to be. I appeared there were two double beds in the room - mirrors appeared to make it larger. There was one bed in the room, with a loft with a mattress only on the floor; we had a 4th bed that appeared to be a fold away chair/bed. Only 2 showers could be taken at a time - it took at least 45 minutes to re heat. We were 4 ladies in our sixties and going up and down to/from the 1st floor was difficult. We had no help with luggage on the day of departure and had to take our own down to the ground floor. But I would use again, but would book in the hotel and not use the studio room option.

Fantastic location and great studio apartment. Could sleep five people though it would be very tight. Nice to have a fridge, microwave, small stove and coffee pot available. Great shower! Be aware that the steps are steep to the hotel room. Also, the upper sleeping loft was very shallow - not good for claustrophobics :) There was a very loud trash pickup both mornings. It began at around 630 am and continued for about a half hour.

Great location - easy to walk to anywhere! Rooms were not the cleanest we've come across - particularly the linen. Staff were not at all helpful in any situation - from showing us to our room (she obviously didn't want to walk up all the stairs to the Loft), to ordering us a taxi to the airport (they didn't, basically!). Also, no lift in the building across the road from reception made it very difficult for those with suitcases to get themselves to the top floor.

Location, Free wifi, helpful staff who appreciated feedback, it was small and intimate, close to a good supermarket, good cafes, transport, boulangerie. Within easy walking distance of Paris' most famous landmarks. The bathroom was a little small. We are quite small, large people might have difficulty. But it was well equipped and laid out. The lift is very small, and fit two small people or one small person with one suitcase

The location is unbeatable - the Louvre and Tuileries gardens just around the corner. The 4 flights of stairs are difficult with suitcases. The family room is in desperate need of a refurb. The kitchenette is badly stocked. The street is full of activity late at night from local families and early in the morning from very noisy street cleaners - you have to keep the windows open because no air con and the attic is very hot indeed so its difficult to sleep. the photo on the web makes the room look big because two walls are completely mirrored but it is very pokey.

My family felt as if they had stepped into an episode of hgtv House Hunters International when they walked into the loft efficiency room. The loft rooms are more shabby than chic but they are bright, clean and comfortable. The location is excellent. While there are non-smoking signs posted everywhere, the loft building is not monitored by hotel staff. As a result, the guests in the loft next to our room felt free to smoke marijuana day and night. They filled the building with the scent of marijuana. We had to close our bathroom window in order to avoid a contact high.

The location was outstanding! 2 blocks from a Metro station and a short walk to the Louvre and Opera! Our studio room was a bit small for 2 adults and 2 older teens. It had a fridge and microwave but no air conditioning. We also had to go up 4 flights of stairs with luggage as there was no elevator for the studio room building across the street from the main hotel...

Location is very convenient The photos from the web is misleading. The room is totally different - not like a hotel standard. Also the hotel is undergoing renovation - I thought our room was old due to not renovated yet - however the staff said our room was already the new one - omg.

The hotel is in a great spot - off the main track, so not a lot of traffic noise. Only a 5 minute walk to Rivoli - subway stop, shopping, Louvre. Stayed in the "Studio" - a little small, but perfect for 4 sisters who wanted time to visit with each other. Beds really comfortable, kitchen well stocked with everything we needed. Be aware - every Wednesday night there is a get-together for "Les Jeunes Univers" (young boys who like boys)in a "house" across the street. We found it quite entertaining to watch the comings and goings, but it may not be suitable for a family with children

the hotel room is totally different from the pictures they were shown!!! The hotel is under construction & actually it's not ready for accommodation. Floor was uneven; carpet was full of staining; the switches were out of order; there's a lamp without any plug-in; the shower tub was broken & told to the front desk, but no one could help... The only pros is the location where 10 mins walk to Lourve.

Polite personal, some of them even speak russian, excellent location, 3 minutes to go to two metro stations, good breakfast, tv & fan in room. small elevator. restaurant opposite the entrance and food store in 30 meters (good and cheap place to buy meal and drinks for all-day-long excursions). If your are not demanding you should try it! Small room, narrow bathroom. High price rate for a double room but quite normal for the studio.

The location is excellent, very near the Louvre and the boats on the Seine. The studio we stayed in was quite comfortable and fine for parents with two kids. Facilities are fine for quick snacks in the room to keep the kids happy. The room was cleaned every day with clean towels. Staff were friendly. Just a mild warning about the hot water which comes out literally boiling - watch out for the kids!

We spent 1 night in double room and that was good. The room was tiny, but clean, compared to the family studio room we moved after. Location is the best thing about this hotel. There are 2 metro stations near, so you can get around the city easily. In the studio room they provide all necessary to cook, if you wish. There is still construction work ongoing, although it was said on the web-site that it should be finished till the time we arrived (end of May). Studio room was far from being clean, especially the floor.

Convenient location, hassle free stay Very, very cramped. To the extent you would struggle to get 2 people into the lift. Having said that it is good value for the centre of Paris.

A well located hotel that provided a small but inviting room for my family. The receptionist was very helpful upon check in and very helpful when asked to give directions (via the Metro) to the Eiffel Tower. The only problem with the room was the presence of a 4cm high discontinuity of the floor about halfway across the room. This problem almost caused my wife to stumble on a couple of occasions. The hotel was in the process of being renovated at the time of our visit and hopefully this problem will be rectified after renovations are completed.

The hotel size was small and intimate and Metro was close by. The shower hose in our room didn't work function properly and the elevator wasn't working on our second day. Hotel staff were moderately friendly at best.

“Met all expectations for a small hotel in the center of town. Friendly and helpful staff. Very small elevator, but it worked. Low power lighting made it difficult to read in the room at night. Good little TV. Helpful to have free access to computer/email.” Gordon, Lafayette, In |
