Location of the hotel is excellent. The entry to the tube and RER are at the door. Just a few stops from Notre Dame. Cafe's at the square busy till late evening, a lot of places to eat nearby. Fiendly staff. Clean rooms. Stairs to the reception - if you have troubles with your legs - it could be hard to climb. The room was quite small and the furnishment is a bit old. If you can't stand the noise of the city - think twice - it's a busy crossroad out of the window.

Excellent English speaking staff and the hotel is very centrally located. As is typical of Parisian hotels in this category, the rooms are small and the breakfasts are overpriced. Don't despair, some of the best bakeries in Paris are all within a two block radius of the hotel and McDonald, if you can handle it, is right next door. We likely will stay here again and I recommend this accomodation.

The facilities were standard for a Euro hotel. Rooms were reasonably quiet. Breakfast was good and price was appropriate for what you received. Staff were helpful. Excellent location near Denfert-Rochereau station. Many restaurants, bakeries and shops nearby. Excellent frommagerie nearby. Wifi access worked well. Quick response when asked to modify reservation. Bath tub with spray handle only-- no showers.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Denfert-Rochereau is one of the stations of rer b which connects to the airport. And it is a station of two metro lines which connects to the many attractions in Paris easily. Our room has a balcony which could view the Eiffel Tower. This is definitely a bonus of our trip! The staff including the hotel maids are all cheeful and helpful. Thank you for the staff who offered to carry my baggage down to the ground floor. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our family and friends :d It would be nicer if our room price includes breakfast. But it is ok as there are many restaurants and a supermarket downstairs. And it took us to walk few stairs before arriving to the reception floor. It is fine to us.

When I arrived the receptionist was extremely rude to me. I travel a lot for work and stay in many hotels and I have never been spokem to like this on arrival before. When I got to my room it seemed the internet was not working and I did not want to talk to the receptionist again. Next morning I asked about the internet and it seems its just the information provided is completely wrong, but they do not bother to give the correct information unless you go and ask. This time the (different) receptionist was extremely patronising, as if it was obvious the information was wrong and I should have known what to do. I did not request a wake up call but received one shortly before 6am, after which I could not get back to sleep. It seemed this was just a mistake by the staff. The room was small and the bed clothes were dirty. The tv had pornographic channels with no parental control. This used to be quite a nice hotel many years ago.

I stayed in the Hotel du Lion for 2 nights mainly as a transit point. I specifically chose the hotel for its location near Denfert-Rocheraeu RER station for the train to the airport and Gare Montparnasse. The location is very convenient - literally outside metro station, nearby supermarket. You have to climb a flight of stairs to reach reception. The room: ask for a room with a city view - at night I looked out my window to see the Montparnasse and Eiffel Towers all lit up! Air conditioning, safe, wardrobe area, free wifi, Room was actually quiet and bed comfortable. The toilet is separate to the bathroom and plenty of storage space for toiletries around the sink. I also advised them about my late arrival (after 10pm) so the front receptionist was all aware of my plans and was waiting for me. I would definitely stay here again - wish I had been able to stay longer! Shower is hand-held - I find these difficult to use!

Location! So close to Denfert-Rochereau station from where can get anywhere in Paris. Turning in key when leaving. Checking in late at night and searching for staff.

The location of the Hotel du Lion near the Denfert-Rochereau station was perfect for my purposes, with easy access via RER B, first from Orly, then to Charles DeGaulle. The room was small, but had a desk, which I appreciated, a good fan, and windows that opened. Plenty of choices for eating within a few blocks from cafes and American (not my style) to specialty shops along the Rue Daguerrre. The hotel is near a busy roundabout, and it seems road and cafe noise in Paris goes on all night. My room was the lowest price and on the street side. There may be quieter options.

Location is perfect!! Arrived late in the evening from London - only need to take one train and less than 2mins walk and I arrived at the hotel. Staffs are polite and informative. Room and bathroom are clean. Althought no A.C, they provide a fan. To get to the city - it was easy as the hotel is locate next to 3 metro train lines. All of those line will lead you to most of the tourist attractions in the city. A.C would be great but other than that the hotel is great

A very simple hotel, unpretentious, clean, good value for Paris and with friendly and helpful personnel. Getting to the reception involves climbing a long and steep staircase, which can be unpleasant with luggage.

The hotel staff was very friendly. We don't speak French and they really did their best to speak English. We stayed in room 35, it was clean and quite big. We had a comfy boxspring bed. There was no airconditioning in the room, but with both windows open it was just cool. But there was quite a lot of traffic noise with the windows open, when closed it was quiet but very warm at night. The Mont Pernasse neighberhood isn't the most beautifull in Paris, therefore the hotel is in the lower price range. But the metro entrance is in front of the hotel and for just €1,27 you can travel to every place in Paris. The metro lines are just exelent and easy to use. The hotel is highly recommended!

Friendly staff, nice little room with windows opening on two streets, well-working shower....Don't need much more! Didn't try the breakfast, since it sounded pretty minimal for the price, and there was a MacDonald's two doors down.... The staircase to the premiere etage was a bit of a challenge for the elderly (us), but we had help from the friendly staff with the luggage both going and coming, and the exercise was good for us!

Everything. Hotel Du Lion is next to the train station Denfert Raucherau , thus makes it very handy , we could hop on the train and get to central Paris and to CDG airport easily. Across from the hotel is a little suburban shopping area where we could find anything from restaurants, chemist to supermarkets. The hotel price is reasonable and the staffs are friendly and helpful. There is a set of stairs leading up from the street level to the hotel reception, and I had a big luggage; however , a big thank you to Ismael from the reception who carried the luggage up for me, and then proceeded to provide me with a very detailed must see Paris sights with a map and how to get there.

Excellent location, good places to eat nearby. I have been in France a few times, both at hotel or in a rental apartment and I can say: I never saw a place so clean, outstanding at this point ! Staff always available, no complains. Magnificent city view at top floor, took some nice photos there ! Had some problems with wifi but since I stayed just one night, can't say that hotel was responsible. If you have mobility problems, you should avoid this hotel, since there are stairs at entrance - reception at first floor !

The location by Denfert-Rochereau is phenomenal. The people at the reception desk were very nice and the room, albeit small, was clean and comfortable. The sound-proofing is excellent - there is no noise coming from the street, despite the hotel being above a central artery. There's free internet - although reception of the wireless signal may vary. Skip the breakfast - it's lousy and there are many good choices just outside the hotel. The elevator is noisy (not too much, though) if your room is next to the elevator shaft.
