Location and commercial, pedestrian neighborhood: lots of affordable restaurants, little grocery stores, enjoyable streets to walk through. Breakfast was fine, although after a week, it felt a bit stale and I missed the buffet style of more affluent hotels I usually drop by during business trips.
Not surprisingly, the room was VERY small, requiring to disconnect the TV and putting it on the ground to be able to use the desk (and inversely). Beds might feel small to an oversized individual and be advised that the elevator doesn't reach down to the entrance floor, so there is a steep flight of stairs to negotiate.
The hotel has an excellent location, it is close to the metro station and the connection with both airports is very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are many cafes, restaurants and stores nearby.
To access the hotel reception you have to go upstairs right in the entrance. It would be a problem for elder people and disabled.
Staff were very helpful and the hotel was well connected to other areas on the metro. Room was small which was to be expected bit clean and awesome view of the Eiffel Tower from our corner room Balcony - thanks Hotel Du Lion!
The location is really good as you are by the RER B at Denfert to get straight to Charles de Gaulle airport and also the Orlybus stops at Denfert too. It is a great area and a brilliant base to explore from. I paid more for a room with a view and it was really worth it, I could see the Eiffel Tower clearly. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was clean.
You have to walk up a small flight of stairs to get to reception, which with a lot of luggage was a bit of a hassle. There weren't any tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
The hotel was relatively expensive for what it is. More like a B&B than a hotel. But the staff was nice.
One day the elevator didn't work, I lived on 7th floor, and I wasn't offered any compensation at the end of my stay.
We like the location as it is very close to the Metro stations and the Train Station to CDG Airport.
We can hear other people talking in rooms beside our room as well as people walking on the floor above our room. As well, we can hear lots of traffic noise from the streets.
hard with two young children, as the maximum number in any room is 3 people..
beautiful room for the money, with a good view. good breakfast friendly and helpful staff
Two out of three receptionist were very friendly and professional. My husband can speak French so we had no issue communicating. Stayed in room 073 with the beautiful view of Paris. Metro is right in front of the hotel. Clean room, comfortable bed. Good size in Europe. We had two nice balcony
Bed is located too close to the balcony door.
- very good location - very practical and convenient room even small one - kind stuff
the door/walls are very thin there isn't any sound isolation between the rooms, in the morning I could hear other rooms' doors open and close, it was quite disturbing.
Location is the best. However be prepared to take stairs for one level. Also if you are arriving into Denfert station via a metro, be prepared to take two flights of stairs (i.e., if you are carrying heavy lugguage). Plus point is Denfert Rochereau station is well connected via Metro and to CDG airport via RER line B so very convenient location. I wish breakfast was included in the price I paid. Room is neat however tiny (Well typical of Paris, but dont get deceived by the pictures posted on the website). Best part is change of bath towels everyday.
Location was great for what we needed & the staff were very helpful
Would have liked to have had tea & coffee making facilities available in the room
Convenient location, just next to Metro station. Very clean bathroom and friendly staff. A/C worked very well.
Although there's a lift, you need to take staircases to the reception, and a few stairs to the lift.
Staff are very helpful and friendly, and everytime they are pleased to talk to us and helped us. Very good location. There is a excellent organic boulangerie just in front of the hotel. Good quality! Will come here again!
Nothing special. very minor point but there are steps to get to reception.
We were thrilled with the location, easy to get the Metro and neighborhood markets. Concierge Ismael was friendly, helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Our view of the city from our window was perfect with the Eiffle Tower visible. Great value. We highly recommend Hotel du Lion to any travelers.
staffs are so friendly and helpful!!!!love them
neer to bus Orly
It was a neat hotel. Good views. Location was my main factor in choosing this hotel and I was not disappointed with this regard. For persons wanting a reasonable hotel near to Orly Airport I would recommend this hotel or any other within this region. Its close to the Denfert-Rochereau Station and Orly Bus stop. Close to food, markets etc. I would recommend.
Did not appreciate the +25 steps one has to climb to reach the reception. With luggage, this is not acceptable. There is no elevator from the ground to the reception, even at reception the elevator is 3steps higher. Also, entrance to the hotel was not clearly marked. there is a standard hotel sign on the building, which is shared between Hotel du Midi and several eateries but not on the door to the hotel itself.
Good location wrt Orly bus. Very good selection of different restaurants close by. Decent room and very friendly staff. I recommend!
Location, great service and excellent value for money. Keep in mind how much you pay for staying in a very convenient location. If you are mostly going to drop your bags and stay out all day like me this place is a no brainer.
we had a late flight into Paris. Upon booking the room, we notified the hotel that we would anticipate checking in between 2300 and 2400 and we prepaid for our room. Our flight was delayed due to weather from London. We arrived at the hotel at 1am. As we walked up to the front desk, the gentleman asked us if we had phoned ahead to notify him that we would be late. We said no and that we had stated so when we made the booking. He then asked what would we have done if he had given away our room. This went on for a few minutes, with us explaining that we stated we had a late flight when making the booking and that our flight was delayed due to weather. eventually, he gave us the keys to the room that we had already paid for. With all that said, I would not recommend this hotel except for the location. and with that, it is located on a major road. You can hear the road noise below at night, even with the windows shut.
Very good location Good service
Quite small breakfast compared to price.
Good location, nice neighbourhood, subway near the hotel, free wi-fi (very slow though).
Expensive for what you get- guess the hotel was renovated a long time ago-it has this smell of old carpets. Tiny room, ugly old shower curtain in the bathroom. One can find a much nicer and cheaper hotel near a subway station in Paris. My guess this one is expensive because it is located in 14th-15th arr. Having tried other hotels afterwards we would not stay at this one again.
The breakfast was good! The value for money-absolutely, also the hotel is only a short walk to both the train and a busy street that leads you right to the city center. The staff was also so charming and kind. I'm starting to find that the smaller hotels with the cheaper prices have nicer and more personable staff that those in the chain hotels. This was a good stay-I'd go to the same hotel again if in Nice.
I got a room where the shower head was very low to the ground and would need to be held to lift over your head, which I never succeed at doing sooo...I Ended up kneeling down to take a shower..not the easiest way to shower-but not all rooms have the same bathroom set-up!
