Lots of restaurants nearby. Close to Gare Montparnasse.
The room we stayed in had a very dark brown carpet. Hard to tell if it was clean. Bathroom not clean enough, has mold in the shower. Toilet also has brownish stains in the bowl. Elevator super small.
We felt ourselves and our possesions were secure, the beds very comfortable, facilities clean and tidy, the staff were all friendly and accommodated any of our requests. We would definitely stay again. Happy customers :)
We only had a small annoyance of the noise of bin truck coming past each morning but it didnt last long.
Staff was great. Breakfast was pretty good for price. location was fairly close to center of Paris.
rooms were small & musty, not much space to move around the beds. Seemed a bit run down inside.
Room very small with very tiny show Bed sheet not changed every day
the hotel's location is very good. (beside the Paris Gare Montparnasse ) This is the only reason I will recommend it.
the room is very cold
the room is too small.
Room was adequate for me - since I was alone. Price probably wasn't too bad for Paris. Staff was patient with my French; they could generally help when I needed to speak in English.
The tiny street isn't even on many Paris maps. The nearest Metro stop is a 10-minute walk away.
We were very close to Montparnasse tower, restaurants, bakeries, bus and train and subway. Room was small but clean, we opted for twin beds to give us more sleeping room. Shower is TINY, but plenty of hot water. Breakfast was too expensive, we thought, so we went to bakeries or market nearby, but bought coffee in the hotel at a price of 2 Euros each and drank it at the tables in the lobby. There also was a small refrige in room stocked with goodies that we did not buy. Desk clerk nicely gave us 2 cups of steaming water to make our own instant coffee or tea. No air cond or fans and when windows open very noisy at night. No problem with language, clerks spoke English. Polite. We took a taxi to the next hotel near the airport. The clerk arranged that for us. We would stay at Hotel du Maine again.
Elevator is about 4 feet by 4 feet square, can't change that tho. Wish the WIFI was better. Very weak signal.
Very nice, polite, friendly and helpful staff. Good location - near to metro, restaurants and all sort of shops, museums, famous Montparnasse Cemetery, Montparnasse skyscraper and Catacombes de Paris. The hotel was clean and cosy. We had pleasant stay, would recommend as excellent value for money. Thank you.
Location near two main stations, montparnasse and denfert rocherer, which has direct link to airports by rer. Staff were very friendly and helpful
Very small room and bathroom.
5 min walk to Gaite metro station.10-12 min walk to Monparnas, 35-40 minutes walk to Eiffel tower, 15 minutes walk to RER station Denfert-Rochereau (line to the CDG airport) - it took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to reach the airport terminal 1 (RER goes to Terminal 2, then free of charge train to terminal 1)
Minibar didnt work, 2 times complained to reception, but minibar wasnt fixed. Hair-dryer is old-fashioned and it took me 10 minutes to dry my short hair (instead of 4-5 minutes with normal hair-dryer). Room is small and there is no place for a trunk, if there are 2 persons in the room it will be more difficultling. Walls of the rooms are very thin, you can hear your neighbourghs rather good. The hotel is situated in a quite place, close to police station. Breakfast is poor and expensive. Its more cheap to buy some cheese, juice, yougurt in the nearest supermarket and put it to the minibar. Next time I would prefer to book another hotel.
1. The room is tidy and clean. 2. Custom service is good.
The only thing I can think of is that the Wifi in the room is a little bit weak.
I needed a reasonably priced hotel close to Gare Montparnasse. Was clean and staff friendly.
I can't possibly imagine who wouldn't like to stay in this Hotel, the staff is very polite, always available to help. The location, although far from the main attractions, it has a near metro station and the Gare of Montparnasse which allow you to go to Versailles directly. Additionally, the Air France shuttle stops near by which is wonderful if you don't know how to get from CGD airport to the Hotel. As for the room, regarding other Paris hotels it has plenty space and a lift(elevator) which although small is very helpful. The fact that the hotel has wi-fi free with a great coverage,, a private bathroom, tv and mini-bar makes life easier. As for the Hotel location, the local is wonderful, lot of restaurants, bars and shops, please check up the Carrefour supermarket near Duroc for less expensive meals. One last suggestion, always try to speak some terms in french people will be much more warm and helpful, and will give you priceless advices.
Some people might find the fact that the cable TV has only french channels but even though I don't speak french didn't bother me. The only situation that I dislike is the fact that the room uses in the floor a carpet and in the bathroom it does not had any protection for the bathtube as a consequence the bathroom would be all wet, still it didn't represent a special problem for us. Some people may be shocked by the fact that near by are some homeless living in the street but we hadn't any problem.
Helpful staff that arranged a 4 AM transfer to the airport for us. Rooms were plain, but clean and comfortable. Hotel located 5-10 minutes walk from the Gare de Montparnasse train station.
Hotel is definitely no frills... Hallways were dark and cramped, elevator was one of the smallest that I have ever been in. Hotel lacked decor or atmosphere.
The flatscreen tv and ensuite were nice additions. The mini bar fridge was also spacious (so I used it as a little fridge for things I bought)
The shower had a lot of rot. The roof in the bathroom looked unfinished. The bed was rock solid and my view was on an alleyway and someone else's bedroom... Nearly reaching distance away.
There is a fridge and a tv with good channels... Umbrellas are available at reception
Sound proofing is non existent ... Shower is too small... Room has a window but no view... You could hear everything people in other rooms say if you leave the window open... Fire alarm went off at 5 am for no apparent reason... Bar too expensive... Breakfast is too expensive...
The location is really good, next to a police station and not far away from the metro.Staff are very nice.
staffs are nice. easy access to metro and SNCF. the shower and the tap give hot water right away.
the room has no air-condition, a little bit too warm and stuffy inside on coming back from outside in the evening.
1. It was, relatively speaking, a cheap place to stay in in Paris. (Not too cheap, either, and I've heard of much cheaper places, but I did not manage to find them.) 2. The staff were quite helpful and nice. 3. Overall it was what one would hope for from a low-budget place--clean, nice, secure, with not too many comforts.
1. The facilities were rather basic, but so was the price, so it was a fair deal.
Staff is extremely friendly, Rooms are cleaned every day, location is amazing and the wi-fi is fast. Next time in Paris I will come back, perfect choice for young couple. You get more than you expect.
Location, the street where the hotel is located is full of excellent restaurants and close to a metro station.
The internet connection was quite slow
It was not at all expensive and I felt relatively safe there. It's also fairly clean and you get your own bathroom.
It can get a little hot without AC and It's a little hard to find the first couple of times.
Wonderful staff and very cousy small hotel in calm street nex to busy city centre. One of the last year the very best hotel experience!
Close to Gaite Metro station. Plenty of shops and restaurants within a short walking distance. Easy to find. Friendly staff.
Breakfast was a little pricey - almost €10 per person.
