We stayed here a few years ago. The hotel appears to have been refurbished throughout since then. Great location. Good stopping off point when travelling further or good as a base to explore the area. Great restaurant. Great views from room. Attractive town.
Good location and wifi
Seemed under staffed and hard to get parked
Room Resturant Location
Poor access to room
The location was good with plenty of places to eat, the Hotel was ok, however the staff did not speak any English.
The Beds were extremely hard and we did not sleep well. Also the Credit Card machine did not work and we had to go to a cashpoint. Because of this we did not feel we had value for money.
Great location for hotel. Even our 4 person room on the top floor rear had an (oblique) view of the estuary.
Paying VAT twice on the bill: it was included in the price booking.com quoted. But the hotel added it onto the VAT inclusive price despite us pointing it out.
Lovely family room with a very beautiful view. It was right in the heart of a very picturesque little town which was lovely to stroll around.
Dated rooms, no A/C, disinterested hotel staff, overpriced, wouldn't stay again
Obviously he view over the Somme estuary. Vast amounts of birds. In the evening it is impossible to take a bad photograph....... the sunsets are breathtaking.
Jockeying for a parking space near the hotel.
It is a pleasant, though fairly basic hotel. Rooms comfortable and clean, with fabulous views of sunrise over the Somme estuary. We had an excellent meal in the hotel restaurant. This was our second time here, we will probably come again.
Thought breakfast was a bit over-priced.
We like the location of the hotel in relation to the town and it's many bars and restaurants. The town and the whole area is stunning and should be visited.
The room(14) was tiny and basic. It stunk of tobacco and the carpets were marked which gave the overall impression that the room was unclean...although this is probably just supposition as the rest of the hotel appeared clean. Parking is a nightmare and an expensive consideration if when staying and the hotel could not supply change for the meters. There appeared to be few hotels that do supply parking. We were informed by other guests that the food was extremely substandard but we had already chosen to eat elsewhere (Nicols 10/10!) so can't properly confirm that. Breakfast was nothing special and expensive but this appears to be common throughout france. The traffic noise on the cobbles is intrusive but that is the price of it's location so is not a downside rather than something you should be prepared for. It is unlikely that I will be staying at this hotel again.
The restaurant was newly re-furbished and the dinner excellent.
Room was quite small and a little smelly. The walls were thin and you could hear your neighbours. Breakfast was poor. No parking.
Poor service. On phone when we arrived. No offer to help with cases although we were on the second floor(no lift) Crazy decor.
We have been to St Valery many times but have never stayed overnight so the location, overlooking the bay was the reason. The breakfast was excellent.
The room décor was tired. The welcome could have been slightly warmer.
Typical hotel of its type. Good location with splendid view of the Somme bay and the river. Charming town
Very noisy in early morning. Lack of parking facilities, which were also very costly. Lavatory in room 20 smelt.
Location, close to restaurants and amenities. Room was clean
The "Family" room was small and not very good value. Despite a sign on reception proudly proclaiming "English Spoken" Not one member of staff I met spoke a single word of English. I booked the hotel SPECIFICALLY because it stated complimentary WiFi on the Booking.com website because I needed to log onto the internet to download some information for the return trip but the WiFi was not working when I stayed
Very good location with views of the river.
Staff verged from not particularly friendly/welcoming to downright unfriendly. Made no effort to make us feel welcome. Service was poor and inefficient. Vehicles passing under our window on cobble street - very noisy from early in morning.
Excellent view from the room across the estuary and good facilities.
The half mile walk to park the car with suitcases and 8 euros per day car parking charge. With luck one may find a nearer car space but at similar charge.
