A 10-minute walk from the center of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, a town made world-famous by Van Gogh, L’Amandière offers a verdant and relaxing setting.
Score from 626 reviews Very good
This hotel is ideally located for visiting the sites of Provence, Luberon ans St.Remy. Les Baux-de-Provence is just 3 miles away. It offers an outdoor swimming pool with sun terrace.

Short walk to the town. Easy parking, lovely apartment, lovely pool area.
The hotel has been beautifully renovated and is a visionary delight. Parking is quite good although the access road can be made a little narrow through parked cars. There is a pleasant breakfast room with outside facilities. Bed was comfortable and we slept well.
Unfortunately the room did not have enough storage space. It all looked very pleasant, but there were no drawers of suitable size for clothes. The table in the room was along a wall big enough to take 2 sets of drawers and a minibar and the wardrobe needed to have enough space to hang clothes instead of having 2 safes (1 is surely sufficient) and a bed cover. The breakfast was overpriced compared with those we had even in an Ibis hotel we has just come from - not as good quality either.
5 min. Walk to the Vielle Ville, and around the corner from the pedestrian path to van Gogh's asile and the Roman ruins at Glanum.
What not to like... No children bring loud, very small and quaint, great location, rooms are lovely, the spa is an added bonus! It's exactly where you want to be as it's 2minure walk to the centre on the one way system so no noise, adequate parking. Stay!
Location Privacy Car parking Lovely clean pool Staff friendly
Internal stairs Poor bedroom air conditioner
Most of the staff very friendly Nice breakfast Excellent beds Secured parking Very clean swimming pool
Great place, very stylish and excellent location.
Nowhere to unpack into - no shelves or drawers: As we were there 5 days it was annoying.
I liked the breakfast, swimming in the pool to relax in the lovely courtyard after a day of touring towns in Provence. Place has breed lovingly renovated in simple, but soothing contemporary style inside which compliments the very old stone farm house it resides in. Plenty of space to hang laundry & free parking. No problem with parking! Very central. Definitely recommend & would love to stay in again.
Staff not very friendly.m seems to be common way in France!! Not too disturbing though. Need to put soap in bathrooms rather than have us request these teensy bars each time from reception.
Great location for access to the town. Great restaurants and bars. Large comfy bed. beautifully decorated. Lovely big shower. We had a room at the back with a window out onto a road but was very quiet once shutters were closed. Very quiet location. Small pool but very nice and clean.
In all the hotel was very quiet. But we unfortunately had a young french couple in the room next to ours, who came back after midnight having a huge row. She was screaming and crying out in the corridor with lights on. Corridor noise is not good. But I guess we were just unlucky. Second night was quiet as a mouse!!
Hotel du Soleil is perfectly located in lovely Saint Remy de Provence and is an excellent base for exploring this region. We stayed five nights. Our room was very spacious, airy and clean; linen was new and crisp and the bed comfortable. There is a pool and outdoor eating area in a pleasant garden and importantly there is ample parking. Breakfasts were one of the best we have had in our travels.
Staff were efficient but not necessarily friendly or welcoming.
The hotel is situated very close to the shops and restaurants in St. Remy, and is driving distance to many other sites in Provence.
My stay at Hotel du Soleil was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. I felt unwelcome and ultimately insulted during my stay there. First, the facilities: I agree with other reviewers that the rooms are spacious and clean. However, there is no sound-proofing. Our first room (we had two, which I'll get to in a second) was on the first floor, and we could hear it every time anyone entered or exited the building. We could also hear the interminable clacking of a person in high heels walking around the room above us. The pool is tiny and the "bar" only offered a couple of wines by the glass - most were by the bottle, and overpriced anyway. The real problems were the service and the other guests. The staff member who checked us in was pleasant, but the two other women seemed barely able to hide their contempt for us. The guests were worse: the hotel appeals to wealthy, older Europeans and their families - maybe not the most tolerant demographic, but I was surprised that several of them blatantly stared at us when we walked by (we are a couple of young-ish American women). When we checked in, we were told that we would have to move rooms for our third night. We were polite about this, even though it meant packing all our stuff up yet again, which we'd been trying to avoid by booking three nights in one place. On our third night, we returned to the hotel around 11PM and went to find our new room. As we entered the new building, a woman who was smoking outside followed us and demanded to know what we were doing there, as if she didn't believe we were paying customers. This attitude was characteristic of many of the guests of the hotel. Overall, the facilities were just okay, the guests and staff were unwelcoming, and the entire visit left a terrible taste in my mouth. I'm sorry I spent three days of my limited vacation time there.
decor, atmosphere, proximity from city center, clealiness, spacious rooms, amazing breakfast, private car park, italian style bathroom
no gym, no ironing service
A warm welcome from English speaking staff. We had a lovely room, a comfortable bed, all very clean and of good quality. The location is excellent, in the centre of town, while car parking facilities are ample. The air conditioning was most welcome!
Lovely light airy room with large well appointed bathroom. Swimming pool Good breakfast Plenty of parking Tranquility
Breakfast not included in room price
A really excellent value combined with a terrific location for a visit to Provence. Our room had ample amenities and very comfortable. Really enjoyed using the pool after a day of sightseeing. A very welcome surprise.
Excellent location and supermarket right across the road for any extras. Surroundings are imaculate and Hotel is extreemly clean and well run. Very pretty pool area, secure and quiet. Certainly would recommend this Hotel.
Welcoming staff, great location and lovely terrace with swimming pool
The rooms were very nice- it felt newly furnished, clean, comfortable, and had great WiFi and A/C. Lovely grounds and free parking on site. It also felt very secure. We were very pleased with the location, as it was a short walk away from the center of Saint-Rémy.
The athmosphere in the beautifull, old and typical provencal building. Swimming pool is great and appreciated in hot weather! Breakfast was very good, wi-fi free and all around, great parking, great location!
Beautiful hotel in quaint St. Remy. Easy walk into town. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Hotel is appointed with simple elegance and grace. Loved our stay here!
Loved this hotel and don't have a single complaint. :)
breakfast was very worth it with great location on the patio in the gorgeous weather! Pool was great. In a superior room that was very comfortable.
Hotel was in a good location. Pool area is nice with plenty of space. The rooms are immaculate and well looked after. The secure parking was a real bonus.
No form of bar service in the evening. The addition of mini bars to the rooms would sole this.
Rooms good, swimming pool good , parking OK, staff Ok.
We thought the hotel lacked a central point. The bar, shop , reception etc were all rolled into one.
Wonderful location within a short stroll of village centre and excellent position to explore Provence. Very nice pool area and rooms have good air conditioning. Really enjoyed our stay.
Location, pool, friendly staff, rooms, St Remy as a town. Markets,Bastile concert fantastic!
Lack of tea coffee making facilities, lack of local tourism information or what is on in the region, shows markets etc
