The hotel have many different types of rooms which have old and new decoration .some of rooms not renovated yet. Be sure to see the room b4 you stay or ask to stay in the first or second floor which already renovated . |

The hotel is located opposite a quaint Parisian market, and several nice cafes. We were expecting the area to be more lively, with shopping and bars, but in hindsight, think Louvre area is better. The lift was incredibly small - it was difficult to fit one person + a suitcase in it! The rooms have modern furnishings, but were very small and looked and felt a bit cheap - the mattress was not very comfortable, the linen was not nice (very starchy), and the room smelt very musty. There were barely any amenities (just soap) in the bathroom. Given the price we paid for the room, did not feel it was very good value. Also there was no breakfast room when we stayed there, so it's lucky there were cafes close by. |

We stayed for one night at the Hotel Du Vieux Saule. In spite of the daunting lobby decoration scheme and the truly tiny elevator, we found our room (403) to be airy and a comfortable size with three lovely windows looking out onto the narrow and quiet rue de Picardie. The breakfast salon is currently undergoing renovation, we easily found a delightful cafe steps away from the hotel. No problem for us, but we found the bathroom sink to be a bit leaky. |

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. It was small, the breakfast room was being renovated at the time and although the idea of breakfast in our room was nice, in practice, there was nowhere to eat it! The lift was also too small for even 2 people. |

Hotel is very nice, rooms are renovated and well designed, bathroom is very clean. Do not expect to find big rooms in Paris, most of hotels have small rooms. We had a great time, it is nice location, close to Pompidou center, with lot of sweet restaurants, shops. |

Reception is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean, maintained and nicely sound proof. We had a room next to the elevator but were never disturbed by any sounds. location wise the hotel is in the lively area Marais, walking distance from metro la Republique, good spread of local eateries (not all that good...) and bars. Good value for money The rooms are quite small, but if you come to visit paris, then this should be of no bother to you at all! |

A nice place close to Marais, across the street (Bretagne) is a local market (Marche des enfantes rouges) where you can have a very nice breakfast during the weekend. We stayed on Floor 5 where rooms were newly renovated and very well designed, spacious bathroom with a lot of light was a pleasure. The elevator is very small, only 1 person fits, but this is normal for Marais. The only suggestions that come to mind are that it would be useful to have a bottle opener in the room (we went to buy ours across the street when we drank wine) and it would be great to have a tea kettle in the room just as well (we brought ours and had wonderful tea while soaking in the bathroom). |

Staff was very friendly and the location is good. Room (and bathroom) was spotlessly clean, but quite small - difficult to find a place to put your luggage. Overall a good place to stay but the images on the webpage are deceptive. Rooms could be a bit more spacious (even in Paris), and the breakfast was basic. |

The central location, the facilities, the reception The size of the rooms. While small rooms are to be expected in a big city, and the hotel, to its credit, had the space optimized, there was absolutely no room to move in the room. The pictures on the website are a little deceptive as they give the illusion of space. |

My room was quite, on the 4th floor. The staff is not welcoming at all. I arrived and the receptionist ignored me for 10min since he was on the phone. The lift is too small to fit 2 people + 2 small cases, there is no door between the room and the bathroom/toilets, sauna facilities is very small and old-fashioned, no changing room. Don't book there! |

the location of the hotel, it was nicely renovated they advocate a green policy: reuse of towels, yet there is no space to hang your towel. The only thing is to drop it on the floor, really stupid. And they miss a mirror in the room. |

Great location, sleek room decorations and design. Nice staff at the front desk. Very small rooms, the cleaning staff was noisy in the mornings, which gets in the way of your quiet enjoyment of morning sleep on a vacation. Early check out times (11 am), and late check-in (2 pm). |
