Sangatte was very pleasant.
Sangatte was very pleasant. Due to the fact we visited at the beginning of April it really suited our needs. Huge sandy and well maintained beach, which at times were practically empty. We had two dogs and it was perfect for long walks however I understand that as from April 15th until October dogs are not permitted on the beach which is a great shame. It is a short drive to the local supermarket which was very handy as we were self catering. Sangatte is a short drive from Calais which is a great bonus and within easy reach to get to other well known places of interest.

Beach and more beach - absolutely beautiful! But I was very disappointed at the lack of any facilities - impossible to even buy an icecream…. No supermarket, one restaurant (expensive), no cafe’s - nowhere to go,,,,,

Alovely village in a beautiful area. Close to Calais (10 minute drive) and the coast road drive to Boulogne is wonderful. Also, conveniently close to Bruge and some First World War cemeteries. Wonderful restaurant (Le Blanc Nez) one minute walk away. and marvellous beaches across the road

However, for what we needed- a place to stay so we were well-positioned to go on the Eurotunnel the next day, after having travelled up from the south- it was perfect. It was warm and clean and the kitchen meant we didn't have to think about going out for food but could cook ourselves. Sangatte has a lovely beach so nice to be able to stretch the legs. And, there is an Auchan up the road in Coquelles for last minute shopping. Wifi worked well.

We even got a free upgrade from the owners because the room was free. The hotel is located in the second row to the sea and has a reasonably quiet location despite its proximity to the main road. Extra bonus: The hotel has a charging station for electric cars, where you can charge for 10€ per day. We definitely recommend the hotel and would love to come back anytime!

And I would like to think you will make a gesture to compensate me for the disappointment. Car park inside was full it was a bad experience having trusted you only give your clients hotels which meeet our needs it smelt of smoke and I did not feel safe to complain

The room was very neat and clean. The bed was comfortable. We had an issue with the TV which the staff resolved easily and quickly. We also ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was very good! Delicious, steaming pot of mussels, with homemade fries and homemade mayo. Delightful!
