Situated just 165 ft from the historic town of Carcassone in the Aude region, Aragon is a charming hotel. It is the ideal place for exploring the Cathar Country.

This charming 18th-century guesthouse is an ideal base for visiting the medieval city of Carcassonne. It offers individually-decorated rooms and floral garden with a pond and a shaded terrace.

The Hotel Montmorency is located at the foot of Carcassonne’s walls and across from the entrance to the medieval city. It includes Wi-Fi access, a pool and a hot tub.

This B & B was clean and comfortable with an attractive decor. The location is great for touring the walled village. The owner was particularly nice when we missed the breakfast time but she extended the time for us. She was very welcoming and gracious as a host. I would stay again and recommend it.
The location is brilliant. To really enjoy Carcassonne it is best to be in the citadel. Wonderful.
Everything, location and owner especially
Maybe a little expensive, but worth it.
Stunning position within old city.
location, friendly host, good value
One of the rare few cheap places within the walls of Carcassone Friendly, english-speaking owner who was helpful and accommodating
Could provide more information/things to do in Carcassone Opening hours are a little restrictive as we were unaware that the b&b is actually closed in the afternoon.
location and the fact that I didn't have to resort to my school-boy French in order to get some good advice
Friendly welcome, very convenient location in the old cite with free parking, just right for a short stay.
Room was very small, hardly any space to put the luggage, and no space to sit down.
You want get disappointed if you spend a night at L'echappee Belle. Jackie, the owner of the guesthouse, was a lovely, kind and smiling lady, and we felt at home emidiately. The place was clean and genuin. Our best recommandations for this place - in the middle of La Cite!
Our host was so hospitable and helpful, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious!
Great Hostess, positively engages all guests and offers help above and beyond what would be expected.
Location was good. Hostess was helpful and friendly
Room was on the small side
The host was particularly friendly and helpful. The room was self contained but also had a door out to the garden which was wonderful after weeks of hotel rooms. I could sleep safely with the window open. Breakfast was generous. The furnishings were very tasteful. Linen was excellent. The host sent out of her way to be helpful. I enjoyed several conversations with her.
The room suited me but it would have been difficult to fit 2 suitcases in. The rooms upstairs would be better, but access to the garden in summer was what appealed to me the most.
excellent service and very nice and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was very good. Very peaceful stay in beautiful location
The host was amazing, very polite and pleasant. She entertained us for probably a whole hour during breakfast. We also fell in love with her dog, Lulu. The breakfast, although simple, was very good (amazing croissants!!!). The location simply could not be better, inside the walled city but still distanced from the noise of the main streets. The room, although small, was very cosy and well-equipped with a refrigerator, tea water boiler and various tea bag choices. The bathroom was also great, with a towel heater and a surprisingly good shower. In the room we found a guide that explained exactly the best walk we could do during the night to see the city illuminated, describing the exact spot to have the best possible view of the city (pont vieux), make sure you don't miss that (that's where they take those amazing photos of the city). You can park your car reasonably close, 4 minutes away on foot. Make sure you park on the parking that's right outside of the outer wall, you are entitled to if you're staying here. My suggestion is to first check-in without any luggage and then ask the host for the best spot to park (the hotel can be easily accessed by a secondary entrance to the walled city, but you probably won't find it by yourself when you first get there). Get your luggage after you re-park your car on the right spot. Also, remember to pack lightly!
The rooms were not very noise-proof, we could listen to guests on adjoining rooms, as well as people closing the entrance door. Luckly, we had no noisy neighbors, so all went well. The check-in hours are limited, since the staff is a single person (it's a 4-room bed and breakfast), make sure you know the schedule. The wifi was a bit slow (it did work, though).
Location great fab host
room with access to patio - and located right in the heart of the lovely Cite Medieval. Very friendly host
bit of noise from the local disco bar on the weekend
So many excellent qualities! Bed comfortable, towel heater in bathroom wonderful for a warm towel & room after a shower, lots of great shower spray heads, & best of all -- Jackie! And her adorable dog Lulu, & cat who slept most of the time! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Toilet water pressure was a little slow at times for refilling, but I think Jackie fixed it one day. It was better by the day we left.
Very small room
Friendly service Great shower Comfy beds Pleasing surroundings Very clean
Great location, rooms are specious, beds are good and shower is great.
Very difficult to find. Practically no WiFi in the room. Check in only at 4 pm, but check out at 10:30 am The place is very worn out. It is acceptable for one night though.
Everything, but most especially our greeting by Jackie. She gave a warm welcome, spent time talking and sharing her experiences and suggestions. The place is lovely. Don't expect a Hilton or Best Western. Jackie's place is from about the 1400s with all the charm and updates that make it comfortable and enchanting. We were a family of three and felt comfortable in the bedroom. These are small bedrooms not standard by American's standard but all the same comfortable (bed...AMAZING) and again enchanting. It is one flight of stairs up - very manageable. The breakfast was filling with pastry and bread, cheeses, yogurt, cereals, coffee, juice and on - most important the wonderful interaction with the host. Thanks Jackie!!!
We stayed at L'Echappée Belle for two nights and the hospitality shown during our stay by Jacqui (the owner) was exceptional. She really went out of her way to help us out, making all the difference to our stay. The room was comfortable and immaculately presented, and was a pleasure to come back to after a wonderful day exploring the 'old medieval city' in Carcassonne. The bathroom was a pleasant surprise - being quite spacious, modern (whilst still fitting in with the characteristics of the B&B) and was also immaculately presented. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast that was provided - giving a good selection of food. It was a real treat to stay in this lovely B&B within the walls of the old city and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Carcassonne.
