Excellent location for visiting the area. The accommodation that we were in for four nights had a good sized terrace/balcony which overlooked the river, castle and bridge. Worth paying the extra for the terrace facility. Ate all our meals on the terrace, glass in hand and feeling relaxed whilst watching the view. Pierre and Patricia (who speaks good English) were friendly. Good butcher and baker just across the road from the apartment and supermarket close by.
good loction and nice view
Really good location with excellent views across the river to Amboise. Close to the train station and easy walking distance to village centre. Apartment was compact and comfortable. The owner was pleasant.
Somewhat difficult to contact the owner to book in unless you have phone coverage or are happy to wait till after 1700 hrs. Kitchen could do with additional power outlets rather than the one power board for all appliances. The noise from the huge water heater in the kitchen (which I assumed supplied the rooms below) was a bit annoying.
We were looking for a good location and convenient place to rest so this fit our needs well. Great sunny balcony and well-supplied kitchen were the best parts. We enjoyed many meals on the balcony directly on the Loire and with great castle view. The host was extremely helpful in spite of our poor French. Great secure bike storage.
If you are looking for modern decor this may not be the best place for you.
Great views of the chateau and river. Quiet location easy walk into town
Small room would suit budjet traveler's.
The location was convent to the Chateau and Da Vinci's home. Also convenient to the train station.
No ventilation! The only way to survive the heat was to open the window and it opened onto a traffic circle. Noisy all night! The apartment was filthy and had a strong mold smell. The towels were bath mats. Be sure to bring your own soap, shampoo etc. Also the owner only took cash and wanted to be paid up front.
The room was a makeshift accommodation on the ground floor. Very simple, old furniture. Smelly. Bathroom was not finished. Tiles missing and floor flooded after the shower. We thought that the kitchen was dubious and chose not to cook or eat there Door and window went directly onto a busy street, impossible to open the window at night for fear of burglars. Owner wanted money immediately. Did not give us a receipt. We think that the price for this accommodation was unreasonably high.
Location, views, peace and quiet. Obliging owner - turned up when it suited me. Easy parking.
Smoke smoke smoke smoke in room. Unable to open a window to aerate. Permitting smokers to inhabit résidence! You should all be shot at dawn!
Nice view on the Loire, calm neighbourhood, the owners live right nextdoor which makes the communication easier. Free internet access
A little bit small but worth the price!
The location is excellent with a view of the Loire and the Chateau Royal across the river. We enjoyed eating dinner on the dining porch. The room packed a lot in for a small space.
It would have been nice of the kitchen had a few small amenities like salt and pepper and a few spices.
The terrace was great with a truly excellent view. It was very close to wander across the bridge into town for dinner. The town is lovely. The host was very helpful.
The room we had was a little poky for the price
The Owner & his associate were ok. after that nothing else. however as always we found Booking.com were excellent at dealing quickly with the problem.
the photos of the property are inaccurate ie the one on your advert with the table & parasol. the property was not clean, the cutlery & the tray they were in, plates, cups, pans, salad spinner etc were all dirty, we spent 30 minutes + cleaning them. 1 small wardrobe for two people , the whole property was not acceptable, when you pay a lot of money for a holiday you expect a good level of cleanliness, facilities & equipment in your apartment. clearly the owner doe's not have this in mind. i would strongly recommend that property owners supply an up to date profile & photos of their lets , eg updating every 6 months.
I loved my stay here
need to improve TV reception only has an internal ariel look at internet access May be create an english guide to the facility that include the loaction of supermarket l general hints like dont forget he butcher sells great tereines and so on
The staff were very friendly and helpful, always smiling, and made us feel at home. The view across the Loire to our neighbours at the Royal Palace is grand, as is the view of the bridge, including being lit up at night. Despite the traffic on the bridge the location was very quiet, and the murmur of the river put you sleep in the evening. Free parking was off-street on the riverside in front of the house. We could walk to everything in Amboise and had free use of bikes from the apartment. Chenonceau, Blois, Tours and other attractions are all in the locality and the station is a minute away if you don't want to drive. The deck/patio was excellent for lunch and dinner or relaxing with a glass of wine.
The room was a bit small but being out most of the day, it didn't matter, the location made up for it.
location on the river was good with a view of the castle. Central for all restaurants.
The studio apartment was of a very poor standard. I would not recommend a stay here
The view of the river and the royal chateau is just magnificent. The owner, Mr. Pierre was very nice and very accommodating. He even let us used his two bicycles and brought us champagne and had good laughs with his friend Patricia and her dog, Elvis. We recommend the place to travelers like us...Indeed we had a pleasant time...
nothing that we did not like. everything was wonderful.
Pay the extra money for the upstairs room with the balcony and a view over river towards the Chateau, it's worth it. The location is great, a short walk into the town with the castle and heaps of restaurants, then you can come back and relax and take in the magnificent view.
. The rooms could do with a real good clean but are ok, the ground floor rooms are tiny, noisy and lacking a good air out.
The owner, Pierre, is a real character and a great guy. Recommended a few nice restaurants and things to see. Between us using frenglish and sign we had some laughs. The accom is in a good spot right on the river and easy walking to the bars and restaurants. Try Le Lion d'Or for great food and Le Shaker for giant cocktails. Great time.
Nothing, our visit was great!
Amazing view of Amboise Chateaux and the Loire. We were treated to a fireworks display that night right off the bridge that was excellent. Parking turned out to be good too. Location was really first rate as we had a marvelous bakery that was open all weekend right across the road. Pierre was very nice.
Hard to find where to knock and get in. Need to indicate that you must go behind the residence and where to find him. Small and a bit crowded, but had everything you could possible need.
