Ideally located between the Latin Quarter and Montparnasse, Hotel Novanox is just half a mile from the Luxembourg Garden. It features a tree-lined terrace with thick bamboo fencing and teak furniture....
Score from 496 reviews Good
a bit noisy with traffic outside and metro but manageable
very warm room temp. in winter time; good and fast wifi; good location: very close to subway station, near restaurants and shopping area
don't expect a big room: despite we demanded a double bed during reservation, we got 2 single beds
The location, view of Montparnasse tower from the room, staff's friendliness, hotel decor.
Good room but would have liked a relaxing bath after all the walking. Staff friendly but changed a lot.
The breakfast room was in the basement and so we went out.
Very convenient location Small but clean rooms Some of the rooms are a little outdated, but you can try to move to another room with modern design. Lafayette Galary is across the street with famous Montparnasse tour. Walking distance(30min) to almost all sight seeings.
on a 2nd floor you may feel that there is a metro station under the hotel, but it's not a big deal.
Location made it easy to get to main attractions.
Most staff were friendly however one lady at the desk was very rude when we needed help to arrange our transfer pick up time. There was 2 ladies on reception, 1 was helpful however the other one was very rude to us and charged us for a free phone call to our transfer company because it wouldn't work from our room which was not our fault! Her attitude was a shame after such a good weekend away.
Location great, staff pretty good, room adequate over all good value.
Perfect location. Many restaurants are in the walking distance. Bus stops and the railway station are close. The staff is friendly and kind.
Rooms were reasonably modern and clean. Room size was par for the course for Paris, but adequate. Staff was quite friendly and helpful. Location was fantastic with the Metro station just outside the hotel. We would stay here again.
The only complaint we can give is that you can hear the Metro pass by underground from inside the rooms. It wasn't a deal breaker, but you could hear it go by every few minutes.
Clean, comfy, good value, great staff and fab location. Bit noisy with the window open, but you're in the middle of Paris - even that adds atmosphere. Definitely one to recommend.
Having to leave.
Balcony, view of the Boulavard
The keys of the bedroom doors not working twice.
The location was excellent. Right next to a metro station very convenient.
At times we didn't have hot water for the shower. You could hear what was going on in the next room. Room small and it was superior but I understand all rooms are small in Paris.
Highly Recommended! As it was our first trip to Paris, (and for simply 3 days) it was perfectly situated for what we wanted to do---visit the Parisian attractions but also small, cool, funky neighborhoods. Staff was professional and courteous. One woman, perhaps the owner/wish we got her name, went above and beyond to take care of us despite our inability to speak French. Originally booked at a different, comprable hotel, we saved nearly $500. We were delighted with our stay at Edouard VI Montparnasse!!
Staff very helpful
The Staff and location is what 'makes' this hotel
No tea/coffee making facilities in the hotel at all, only one power outlet in our room
A WONDERUL affordable hotel within walking distance of everything. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. A lovely stay. Room was more spacious than expected - very quiet - huge bathtub to relax in. Quiet room.
We were on the 5th floor facing the back not the street and it was nice and quiet so we didn't have to hear the traffic from Montparnasse. Our bathroom was very lovely and the cleaning staff always left it as if we'd just arrived! Their wifi is amazing, I listened to french music on Spotify! You can walk everywhere, my mother and I walked all the time and hardly used the metro. There is a food shop right underneath the hotel, though it's very easy to miss, Monop. You can walk to Rodin museum in 25 minutes. There is an award winning cheese shop near Duroc metro station, 10 min walk from the hotel in the West direction. I think its 68 Sevres...possibly. Oh and they can vacuum your cheeses so you don't stink out the Eurostar. I think Gerard Mulot had the best croissants and its near the north side of the Luxembourg Gardens :D
Yes you can feel the metro vibrate but it stops after 1am and starts after 5 I think, though this won't wake you up. Also. We felt and heard the metro a lot around Paris, I think this is just because their metro doesn't go that deep underground so you'd get this at other hotels too.
Location! Cleanness! Friendly staff!
VERY NICE PLACE AND GOOD ACCESS TO OTHER PLACES IN PARIS,
Great location, great staff. Very helpful all of them. Plenty of restaurants / bars literally on your doorstep. Accessible via the metro to all tourist locations. Cab only €9 from Eiffel tower. You can not beat the hotel's location.
Room was small. Not a major issue as it had been stated in many reviews. Was out of the room most of the time. No tea/ coffee making facilities in room.
The location was perfect. Right in front of a major metro station. Not far from anything. Staff was very helpful. Rooms and showers were clean.
The wifi logged you off every time you left your phone on idle for a bit. Making you sign on every time.
Location, personnail, clean
No kettle when arranging the breakfast was12 euros when we stay 13 euros
V close to the metro with several lines. Walking distance from many attractions. Comfortable bed, v clean bathroom with lots of hot water & good bath/shower.
Traffic noise at night
