Loved the room and the parking - which is essential. Staff were great. The location is perfect for exploring the walled city, harbour, and marina. Not part of the hotel but they keep promotional literature for a free English walking tour which was priceless!

A very noisy front street with rowdy disco and party goers pouring out vocally till 5AM! Ask for a room at the back. Breakfast was adequate but fresher, better croissant available just along the road. We'd stay again but away from the noise.

This hotel is perfectly situated within the walls of st. Malo. Clean rooms, helpful and friendly staff. Parking is available opposite the hotel in a locked garage. Very handy as it can be difficult to park,(call and reserve parking in advance). This was my second stay at this hotel, I will be returning.

room was like sleeping in a cupboard. it was so small it was not possible to fully open the shower room door as the bed was so close. Toilet door you would not wan to close as far too small, so needed to keep it open! Window opened onto a brick wall painted with a beach view! Not good, but my husband would not let me complain, very british!

    Convenient for restaurants.

We were located in the annexe, away from the main hotel, so difficult to give an acutate review. The room was clean but basic. We did not use their restaurant, so no comment there.

the central location. Good breakfast. Then main Hotel is of a high standard with lovely breakfast room in the cellar

The annex (Skippers) building is not up to the high standard of the main hotel. Our room had a stale feeling/smell The standard and quality of the shower room was poor. Hand held shower over the bath. We felt the price was high for the standard of the accommodation.

Convenient to the Quayside parking, and close to the restaurants.

This was not our usual stay in St Malo, but the only one who we found to have a vacancy for the two nights we stayed. It is difficult to give as full review, as we were in the annexe, away from the main hotel, and we did not use any of the Hotels facilities.

Location in old city. Easy to find. Garage for motorcycle.

Room very small. Water for shower took a long time to run warm, wouldn't run hot.

Excellent location within the old walls. Arrived on motorcycle and parked in their private garage which is opposite the main building. Our room was in the second building just a short walk up the hill. Good breakfast served in the converted cellar of the main building.

The location was excellent with respect to sightseeing activities and also the Ferry departure terminal.

The room was a bit small. and a bit stuffy. The light switch to the bathroom was faulty and was reported.

Friendly people at reception and a good location

We were placed in a room away from the main hotel. Although the room was ok, it was very basic and nothing like the main hotel rooms advertise

My wife and I had stayed at the hotel elizabeth 20 years ago, and had remembered it as being wonderful. It still is. We stayed, as before, in the main hotel, so I can't comment on their other unit. The room was small, but that is expected in any of the old buildings of the old town. Everything was fully functional, including a satisfactory wifi. The beds were very comfortable, and there is coffee (instant, though not bad) and tea in the room for the morning. The hotel is small so the staff are small in number, but always extremely helpful. There is parking if you let them know you need it. It costs a bit extra but is worth it, as the old city is, crowded with tourists like you and me, a nightmare to park in. The breakfast is a steal for 11 euros (remember that this is a place where you can spend 5 euros on a coke!). Self-cooked soft or hard-boiled eggs, ham and cheese, along with all of the standard French petit dejuner items, the pastries, plus apple and/or orange juice, and American-style coffee. Stay here for the breakfast if for no other reason. You'll start the day out right.

The two evenings we were there it was cold and a bit rainy (late April), so we slept with the windows closed. We were on the first floor (one floor up) and if had been warmer so that we would have wanted the window open, it might have been a bit noisy at night. We heard nothing.

I don't really expect anything luxurious when I'm also concerned about price. I also know that many of these small hotels are in old buildings and that having spacious bathrooms, good showers, and rooms large enough to do much more than sleep or sit at a small desk is simply not possible. So I did not feel in the least disappointed by our room. It was what I expected for the price. I did not opt for breakfast because I thought that 22 euros for two people was more than I wanted to pay, but that's not meant to be a criticism. It was my option not to accept the offer. I very much appreciated that the bed made no attempt to be anything more than a bed with everything white, looking clean and inviting. Nothing fancy. All of inner wall Saint Malo is beautiful so all hotel locations are fine. We arrived on the ferry from Jersey, Channel Islands, and departed on a train bound for Paris, so the location was easy and quick from both places.

    Low price

Arrived at 10:30pm - no kettle to make coffee/tea in room - couldn't get anything at reception either so had to go hunting around St Malo. Thankfully reception at Hotel Ibis was able to help.

    I liked the friendly staff.

Had gone to some trouble looking for a nice picturesque trad hotel only to find that our room was in another building not so picturesque about 60-70 yards away. Had this been clear on the website I would have booked a different hotel. The booking section of the website should make this clear.
