Location, location. very good! Central to the city center, Metro, buchons streets, the river walk.
The hotel is located in the very highest style retail district- in the same block as Dior, Hermes, Swarski, Vuitton, Prada, etc. but the hotel rooms were spartan, with hard bed matresses, very small bathrooms, and a one floor walk up to the lift. Not a bad value, but it was out of character with the neighborhood. If we return to Lyon, we will seek a bit higher comfort hotel, even for a higher cost per night.
-Location incredible. A few steps from place Bellecour, the central square of Lyon. The old city is at a walkable distance. -Hotel staff super friendly and helpful!
Quiet, clean and fantastic location in the middle of everthing. Easy walk to the old town, divine patisseries, both river banks and top shopping. All staff very pleasant and helpful. Went out for breakfast as bakeries are close by.
Every thing was good
Everyone who worked at this hotel was very friendly and helpful. The proprietor always has a smile. The location and price can't be beat. It's quiet and clean with a good petit déjeuner. A Lyon local who came to visit was surprised that she didn't know the hotel and now intends to recommend it for visitors.
The only possible downside was that the elevator starts one flight up, but that really doesn't matter because you can get help with your luggage. Besides, one flight of stairs is good for your health!
Convenience to main locations of interest to visitors.
The location was great, close to everything. The staff are nice.
Even though it's a two stars hotel, it would be nice to offer more room facilities such as tea and coffee facility.
The location is excellent. The room was very basic and a little dated but clean. No fuss or frills but it fitted my needs.
The hair dryer was useless. The elevator is slow and tiny (cannot fit more than one person and one suitcase). Like others mentioned, stairs are unavoidable (and there's lots of them). The staff was very friendly, but spoke very little English.
Clean rooms, good bed, nice staff
Staff friendliness and location. Very good value for money.
In a golden location to explore the old city.
Lots of stairs
The location was great - really easy to get out and about and heaps of food options and pubs just a couple of minutes away. The staff were friendly and helpful (and spoke English). Although the rooms were a bit old they were clean. If your main requirement is somewhere affordable, clean and well-located to stay (as it was for us) this place is great.
The lift started on the first floor so we had to haul our luggage (and ourselves) up one flight of stairs before getting the lift to our room. Probably not good if mobility is an issue but as a young couple we weren't worried at all.
Location is excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
We stayed 3 nights and were happy with the location being very cental and walking distance to sight seeing, shopping and restaurants. The owner was very helpful, friendly and very responsive to any queries. The hotel had a elevator and the room on the fourth floor was clean and compact. The double glazed windows were great to keep outside noise out.
The shower was a hand held type over a bath, but no screen or curtain. When using the shower, water was falling onto the top of bath and along rim and onto floor. No drain hole in bathroom, so extra towels were used to prevent water going onto carpet outside the bathroom. So extra care was to be used whilst showering.
It is on a very good location. Close to restaurants. Shops n tourist information subway A is only 3 min walk. Around 8 -10 euro taxi from part Dieu plus luggage fee. It is a two stars hotel, so don't ask too much.
Walk one floor to elevator. The staff is very helpful with our luggages.
This tiny little hotel, although small, was clean and the bathrooms look as if they were just refinished. If you are planning not to spend much time in the room (due to sightseeing and nothing else) then this is your kind of place. The location is excellent. Just down the block from Etoile, where you will find severarl metro stops (line1,4,6, and RER stops as well) Including the stop for the Air France bus which is still the cheapest way to CDG airport. If you need a place to stay, that is clean, and has an excellent location, this is your spot. As you can imagine, when you walk outside, there are bistros, restaurants, and anything you can think of. One last perk, is that you can walk to the Tour Eiffel within just minutes.
Room size leaves a little to be desired however, we did find plenty of room to store our luggage. This certainly "opened" up the room a little more.
It was a great starting point for each day given it's superb location, and one of the easiest hotels to find out of the ones we stayed at on our trip.
Nothing springs to mind.
The location was excellent. Close to shopping and the Metro.
The location is really good.
Staircase is very steep and the lift is one person and one suitcase size only. Parking is a nightmare!
Location perfect. Breakfast was adequate, cleaning was good and staff were helpful and friendly. With a little effort with fresh décor and new beds this could be a far better, simple, centrally located hotel.
Basic - very poor quality of carpets and decor. Comfort was absolutely minimal - bed and pillow awful. Felt like you would wake covered in bed-bug bites .... but surprisingly we didn't have any!
Good room, cool and clean with blazing WiFi. Better than average shower and the staff provided fresh towels every day. The breakfast was also good and the coffee was outstanding. It was an easy walk to most sights and to the subway.
Not really crazy going down two flights of skinny stairs from the first floor for breakfast every morning. The lift is on the 1st (in US lingo 2nd floor).
Walking distance to a lot of things.
The triple room is very small.
Small, very friendly and helpful staff, safe, comfortable.
Needs some fruit with breakfast. The air conditioning is present but underpowered. Most of the year that probably doesn't matter.
This hotel is near the metro and lots of restaurants and shops. It's easy to reach from the airport train at Part Dieu and easy to use as a base for touring the old city and other attractions in the area. There is a 24 hour staff, and they are friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic and not very large, but they do have air conditioning, television (including English channels), and wifi. The rooms are well cleaned and supplied with fresh linens. The breakfasts are simple but good--bread and sweet pastries, yogurt, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, orange juice. Most of this is served to you at your table in a pleasant breakfast room. (Yogurts are in a cooler in the room.) The area feels safe even late at night; a lot of people are out and about until the wee hours and transit runs late.
This was not a problem for us, but stairs are unavoidable. The small lift begins on the first floor, and the breakfast room is below the ground level. The rooms are also rather small, but we found them adequate, especially as we spent most of our time outside of them.
