Hôtel Elysees Mermoz  

The location is terrific and on a very quiet street. I spent a lot of time researching hotels before selecting the Elysees Mermoz for a four- night trip to Paris with my wife. We were looking for a hotel that was within walking distance of both the high-end shopping my wife desired (on Rue Saint-Honoré) and the specific restaurants I wanted to visit (in the 7th arrondissement)---plus all the touristy locations we had to visit. The hotel's location met all our our requirements. The check-in was smooth, and the room was nicely appointed and of decent size by Paris standards. There are several superb boulangeries within walking distance, so we didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel, so I can’t comment on the food, but the hotel is small enough that you can walk in the front door and be in your room in 30 seconds, which is something I enjoy.

I have three general negative comments, which are somewhat small but worth mentioning. First, the bed was as hard as any on which I've ever slept (I.E., really hard); my wife and I are both stomach-sleepers, so it didn't bother us, but it might bother those who sleep on their sides. Second, the hvac system in our room was not functioning, but, given that we were on the fifth floor, it was plenty warm in our room---plus our room had a small terrace that we could use to air out the room---so we never bothered to get the issue addressed. Third, there was construction occurring at the building next to ours, which shared a wall with our room (the wall behind our bed); at 8am every morning, the construction started, and it was very loud (!!!).

The Staff at the hotel were very helpful.Unfortunately there is no Restaurant at the hotel,but there is room service between 6pm/2am and plenty of local bars/restaurants. Big plus - only two minutes from Champs Elysees.

Big disadvantage - room soundproofing makes the rooms very hot and the street as too noisy to sleep with the window open. We booked a twin room but had to separate the beds ourselves as the room was presented as a double by the hotel.

The young women at the reception area are very warm and helpful. They are also knowledgeable about the area and offered good suggestions when we asked for places to eat close by and also shopping hints for specific items we were looking for. The room size was very comfortable and we had a balcony which we thoroughly enjoyed!

The only negative was the shower...the water escaped onto the floor and the tub was very narrow!

The lady working on reception was exceptionall. All the other staff were also very good. Good breakfast in a lovely contemporary dining room.

Room service was a bit pricey.

Breakfast is good for us. Actually, we won't think too much on breakfast in the morning of a trip because you have just starting a day. Hot coffee + little bit food is fine to power up you already. Also mostly we go out to visit the city, just back to sleep, so I love the location that make me easy to back and take rest. The day time stuff had serves everyone nice whatever you are Black or White or Asian.

Staff very friendly, & rooms were comfortable.

Staffs are very friendly and helpful, especially when I knew my flight was cancelled and they helped to contact Air France right away. And great location, clean room and good Internet access.

Staff were friendly, the room was tidy. It was quiet even though our room was facing a street. The water pressure was good and plumbing was in order.

In this day and age and a 4-star hotel must have a free WiFi.

The location is pretty nice, such as the staff and services.

The breakfast price is much higher than close restaurants' prices, so if you do not want to waste money, prefer this option.

Hotel facilities, staff, and location were all excellent. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel

I had a very good time in this hotel! I'd love to come back next time.

Wifi connection is a little bit slow.

Room was spacious Bathroom toiletries from Occitane, is a nice touch

The Room Service is only cold dishes, so no soup or hot main dishes The entrance and lobby is not good enought for business meetings The breakfast room is in the basement
