Stayed for one night on way home from 2 weeks in Perigord. The Escal was a very good 2 star hotel - the room was clean and comfortable and the Receptionist was very pleasant and helpful - she didn't speak any English but managed to understand my very limited French! Stayed in Room 5 - double and bunk beds - which was a lovely quirky room, but with limited headroom in the bathroom (Ok for us, but could be a problem for 6 footers). The room was on the 2nd floor - up some narrow spiralling stairs, which would be a problem for anyone with limited mobility. Nothing

The breakfast was excellent value at €7 per person - good, fresh and just what you needed to start the day. The family room was of a good size but 'tired' - needed a lick of paint and a new carpet. Bathroom OK but needed updating.

Au petit déjeuner, baguette très fraîche et croissants délicieux, personne de la réception très souriante et serviable. On entends facilement le bruit des autres chambres, mal insonorisé, mais hôtel déjà ancien, petits travaux à prévoir.
