Château d'Esclimont  

A fantastic atmosphere in a historical building with a high grade of luxury.

The scenery in the Chateau d' Esclimont was like entering a fairytale. Very romantic and gives you the feeling that you go back in time The castle is very well preserved considering it is almost 450 years old. The gardens and the lake are beautiful places to take a walk and enjoy the nature. The stuff was excellent , very kind and helpfull. I will definately visit the Chateau again.

To begin with there were live bats flying round the corridors outside the bedrooms and the food was awful - the worst meal I have ever had and a real rip off. My starter (£25) tasted of salt and water and my monkfish (£30) was three small dry overcooked pieces with six cold soggy tempura vegetables. They did at least refund me the cost of the starter. The wine list starts at £38 with screw top wines which my local supermarket sells at a £5. The staff were friendly but did not seem to care about the bats or the food - when I sent my first couse back the reply was 'the main course will be better' - it wasn't. No apology! The tennis courts were about 20 years old and unplayable as the all weather service has not been replaced. The bikes and boats on the lake are good. Internet at 12 euro is outrageous. We were ungraded to a room with a rack rate of 255 euros - what a tired dingy room - I hate to think what the original room was like. The outside of the building looks fantastic but don't be fooled this is not a 4 star hotel in any way or form. Our bath had a shower but no shower screen!

I stayed at the Chatueu L'esclimont as it was ideal location outside Paris and for meeting with a friend for dinner in a classical environment. The staff were very helpful and courteous, and all my requirements were well met and exceeded. I will be back!

i would have liked at breakfast, that i would be at least served with the coffee!

no turn down service (not sure if this was intended or an oversight) only 2 small pillows for king bed, scratchy blanket. Internal shutters meant room was very hot during the night (no air conditioning) and also let light in in the early hours of the morning. All of the above made for an uncomfortable and wakeful night.

The Chateau is a beautiful and very rare example of an architecturally striking moated chateau, only an hour south of Paris. The staff was very accomodating, but the property felt sort of empty like the building overpowered the few guests staying there.

Этот отель имеет претезию на *замок - отель* и если кому то приходит в голову как это говорят окунуться в старину, ощутить атмосферу настоящей Франции, пожалуй можно сюда приехать.. Но я в этом замке останавливаюсь не первый раз и не чувствую шарма и загадочной атмосферы. Внутри все отлично и соответствует высокому стандарту обслуживания.. отделка, комфорт.. и поэтому я воспользовалась этим отелем с целью выспаться после путешестви по замкам, перед работой в Париже. Прекрасное расположение около автострады. Парк с прудом и птицами. Здание снаружи поражает своей величественностью!

hotel is een prachtig frans kasteel met een park van 140 ha.En ligt in een prachtig bos. Vlakbij de snelweg.
