Bed is not really king size Swimming pool was closed due to weather *as said* But the fact; it was in bad condition and reqiured maintenance
It was an amazing place
Wish it had air conditioning
The exterior of the chateau is beautiful with surrounding moat. The grounds at the back of property are mowed...pool area is overgrown
The place shows it's wear and tear...we had a suite... The bed was atrocious, the mattresses had valleys from wear. The carpet is down to the seams and threads.... Grounds have overgrown beds, broken window by the pool... The list goes on
The hotel and its grounds are beautiful and the common rooms are elegant. To stay in a 16th century chateau was a treat. The reception staff were friendly and professional and our room was very clean.
Hallway carpets to our room were pretty worn, and the drapes in our room had seen better days. The hotel website says coat and tie required to eat in dining room, so my husband brought one; then when we had dinner, other diners were dressed much more casually. Restaurant wait staff were trying very hard, but seemed young and inexperienced and fumbled a bit in trying to serve an elegant dinner.
Top floor no help .no wifi .not in the main building .nothing extra for our honeymoon .i let them know before we left home ???
The setting was amazing and the ambiance what we hoped for. Our granddaughter was enchanted with the room and the grounds.
That we could only stay one night.
Beautiful castle, beautiful grounds, beautiful dining rooms and large rooms.
There are absolutely no shops or restaurants nearby (nearest town is 30min?). Breakfast is very nice, but dinner is extremely expensive (~€50pp for 2 course + wine + complimentary starters, bread and petit fours) and didn't taste good. Bread is served cold but we asked the waiters to heat it up an they did that for us.
The location is remote (about 20 minutes to Chartre) but if you're looking for a respite surrounded by fabulous grounds; this is the place. While some rooms could use a touch up; overall the Chateau is wonderful.
The food is so expensive ....we chose to drive back and forth to Chartre for dinner after the first night in the Chateau's dining room. Also, the front desk;s English diminishes when trying to figure out the final bill. When we modified our reservation they charged a second deposit which resulted in much confusion at final checkout.
Castle is beatuiful
Too many furnitures are damage. The lamp ,wifi machine ,shower has no hot water. Dirty kettle. I ask to solve those problem and repecition change a new room to me. But I still fine a damage heater and sorry bathroom.
Food is not that great--not worth the price, the beef filet had an awful smell and was barely edible not worth €31! Better to drive out to a restaurant in nearby villages. Beds are very uncomfortable. Marble bathroom floors are not heated.
Far away from public transport. Very expensive Without informing us they gave us a room in a satellite building, not in the main one. Had to upgrade it . Food is crazily expensive..
Beautiful area and castle.
The beds are of poor quality. There where two parties (wedding and other), which effectively made large parts of the castle inacessible and feel us like intruders. When the castle is that busy, best to not take any other bookings.
