Hotel Esplanade  

The staff at the hotel were outstandingly helpful - a 24 hr. service on the reception is a definite plus. We took breakfast at the hotel and found it very generous - a self serve buffet - but with offers of hot coffee top-ups. The bedroom was always made up by the time we finished breakfast. Wifi connection although free was a little erratic. Tramway right outside the hotel offers very easy travel into Strasbourg centre. Would very definitely stay there again and a definite recommendation for others.

Spacy room (room no 18), comfortable double bed, working desk (though small), nice decoration, kind service, just a few steps away from the Management School of the University of Strasbourg, relatively easy parking in the hotel area (parking is for free all day long just one street away from the hotel; there is a parking fee in the street where the hotel is located).

The 1st floor is rather noisy (but not extremely noisy), the bathtub is really old, no curtain in the bathroom, no toiletries.

We enjoyed out staying at Esplanade Hotel. Location was very good (15 minutes walk from Cathedral), rooms very very large and clean. Good place to visit the town

The room is ok, but don't expect too much since it's a two star hotel. We also catch a promotion and we had the breakfast for 1 euro. For this money the breakfast was more than ok(let's be serious for 1 euro you barely take a coffee) but otherwise I will not give the normal price(8 euro) because the possibility to choose is very little. A nice thing is that we had free wireless into the rooms. The personal was also very friendly and helpful.

The rooms should be better cleaned. Don't get me wrong, it's ok but can be improved.

It was cold and I did not have any extra blankets or other warming measures, the dressing was doorless, the internet didn't work at all and the breakfast was really poor!

Les chambres sont sommaires et passablement vieillottes (pour ne pas dire cheap), mais la literie est très confortable, la salle de bain très propre et le double vitrage insonorise complètement des bruits de la rue. L'hôtel est situé à environ 15 minutes à pied de la cathédrale et du centre-ville donc sa situation géographique est idéale. Le petit-déjeuner buffet était bien complet et varié.

Quel dommage pour pouvoir accéder à la réception de devoir traverser un nuage de fumée de cigarette produit par le réceptionniste, visiblement peu impliqué dans son travail, et ses copains. L'hôtel se transformerait-il en salle de jeu la nuit? En descendant demander des serviettes supplémentaires, mon compagnon a découvert le fameux réceptionniste et ses amis en pleine partie de cartes, bières à la main, dans la salle du petit-déjeuner...pas très sérieux tout ça. L'ascenseur et les escaliers sont très glauques la nuit. Il manque une bouilloire dans la chambre. Les serviettes de bain sont rêches comme du papier de verre.

Séjournant 7 jours dans cet hôtel avec un programme tout à fait chargé, j'ai pu obtenir une chambre au calme, ce qui était très agréable sur un long séjour.

Les personnes irrespectueuses qui rentrent en pleine nuit et qui se croient seules dans l'hôtel à hurler. Je pense que l'accueil devrait intervenir dans ces situations.

Le lit, bien trop mou pour dormir convenablement. Le chauffage n'était pas allumé et il fait très froid le matin.

Alhoewel geboekt voor een driepersoonskamer (zoontje van drie mag gratis) kregen we een vierpersoonskamer aangeboden. Eenvoudige kamer, maar alles werkte naar behoren.

Netheid van kamer kon beter, vooral onder bed.

Modernes Badezimmer.

Direkt an Hauptverkehrsstraße gelegen und dadurch sehr laut. Keine wirklichen Decken in den Zimmern. Auch auf Nachfrage konnte keine richtige Decke zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Heizkörper im Zimmer waren nicht regulierbar. Die Betten hatten ihre Beste Zeit auch bei weitem überschritten.
