Good customer service from the manager. He was friendly, polite & understanding. The bed was clean & comfortable & the breakfast was good continental breakfast. When I told my overnight misadventures to the hotel manager. I told him that although I had booked for 2 nights I just wanted to leave the hotel & pay for the 1 night only. The manager agreed to my wish & apologised for my dissapointment.
The location, if coming by train station overnight it's out of nowhere & scary because you have to pass through a tunnel by a park. No tv in the room. I found some hair in the bathroom & some used shower gel. The room was cold & they were some heavy moulds in the room by the window. The room temperature was cold & I was unlucky a group arrive late & they were very loud so I could hear everything. Also the hotel overnight has no reception, you have to check in with a machine. I hated that I think that people are better than machines. They need a staff at night. Because of the no staff policy I couln't complain about the noise. Also no phone in the room. It's really basic & I have experienced better places for the same kind of money. Better in terms of location & cleanliness.
If you're on a budget, it's an ok choice. Beds were good and bath was fine. 10 minute walk from Cergy St-Christophe RER station (40 minute RER trip to Châtelet in the center of Paris). Was not clear to me from the map how to walk there from the RER, but it's almost a straight line: walk next to the Hotel de Ville and then on the park, next to the University, until you reach the end of the park, near the Courtepaille restaurant. Then take a left and the Ibis Budget is there on your right. If need a supermarket, walk past the RER going from the hotel and a Leader Price is near, a straight line from the RER. A place to go for a walk would be the big park "Axe Majeure" just a couple minutes from the RER in the direction opposite the hotel.
