Hôtel Excelsior  

The location was excellent--within a short walk from the train station. It took about 15 minutes to walk to the old part of Nice from the hotel. I loved that the hotel provides a desktop computer for guests to use for free to check e-mail. The computer was in a quiet room next to the lobby. The room was a good size--bigger than most of the French hotel rooms we stayed in.

Noise was a problem. Our room wasn't very close to the elevator, but we could hear every time the elevator moved, or when another guest opened or closed their door. Also, the room only had 1 small trash can. It was a hassle to have to go into the bathroom every time we wanted to throw something away.

The garden outside is very nice, especially for having dinner or just having a cup of coffee. It's in a great location, just a short 10 minutes walk to the beach. Its a great hotel with helpful staff and very relaxing ! And its literally less than a five minute walk to the train station, making it easy to explore all the nearby cities and to get to and from the airport !

We thought the staff were helpful and friendly. The location was good very central- right behind the main railway station, which is also where the shuttle bus to the airport was located. It was a couple of streets from the main shopping and access road to the beach.It was about 20 minute walk to the beach. The hotel had potential- some effort had gone into decorating, plants around etc. The twin room was large as was the bathroom and the beds were comfortable.The air con worked well.

Having said all that it was really noisy- road noise and constant banging of doors and general thumping to keep us awake. The hotel was tired and shabby in appearance- dirty carpets, mould in bathroom. The breakfast selection was poor. The double room was small and bed hard. The hot water ran out one day. We did not think that it was 3 star.

This hotel is really clean. It is close to the train station and easy to get the bus to the airport. The staff in the reception are nice.

Very nice staff, very god service, clean rooms, not so far from the center. Bit noise on the street side, but it is ok. Can just recommend!

Jag var helt nöjd med hotellbokningen. Extra plus att det fanns gratis WiFi uppkoppling på hotellet vilket inte framgick av Bookings information. Detta vore nog bra att ändra eftersom det kan vara en avgörande faktor vid val av hotel när man har tonåringar med sig!

A cote de la gare SNCF Personnel vraiment gentille.

J ai explicitement demander une chambre non fumeur - j ai eu une chambre fumer aère. Je déteste l odeur des cigarettes froids dans les chambres! Les chambres vers la rue sont très bruyantes car fenêtres non isolées - on ne dort qu'accessoirement.

L'accueil du personnel est très chaleureux et convivial. Hôtel à environ 5 minutes à pied de la gare sncf, pile en face de la sortie. Personnel performant en cas d'erreur!

Absence de baignoire dans une chambre double supérieure! Balcon et rebords de fenêtre recouverts de crottes de pigeons car ceux ci nichent au dessus des fenêtres surement toute l'année.

proximité centre ville

Hotel ancien très beau, très bien placé dans le centre ville. Nous avons eu une chambre très bruyante la première nuit mais au matin le veilleur de nuit réceptionniste nous a gentiment changé de chambre hyper calme.

Le petit déjeuner nous a déçu pour un trois étoile, buffet incomplet car trop de monde, la serveuse du petit déjeuner, par ses "souffles" très sonores et qui ne se voulaient absolument pas discret, nous a bien fait comprendre que nous descendions trop tard et qu'elle avait autre chose à faire! C'est dommage mais pas digne du tout d'un hôtel étoilé.

La gentillesse du personnel, la chambre très confortable et le petit déjeuner.
