The rooms and the design of the reception area and in fact the whole hotel was beautiful, modern and luxurious. Generally staff were very nice. I was disappointed with the variety on the room service menu and the quality of the food itself was not particularly good. I don't mind paying extra money for good food but I did not feel that the food lived up to the extortionate prices. There were also no parasols on the sun terrace which I feel was a bit of a shame because it made it difficult for me to use it. I was 30 weeks pregnant during my stay and could not sit in direct sunlight for very long. Finally, we were rather frustrated with our taxi booking because the hotel price list stated €25 to the airport, I checked again on the phone when I booked, but then when the taxi driver dropped us off he took €38 from me (i.e. gave me back only €2 change from €40). When I looked surprised he tried to explain it but I couldn't understand before he disappeared off in his car again. My point here is that the prices they display need to be checked! If there are extras because of baggage or weekend tariffs these never tend to be included in the rate card which is very frustrating. |

The room was noisy, during the night I was woken by screaming several times. Room service did not receive my breakfast order and I needed to get to the airport early, so I could not finish my breakfast. The room was not ready for an hour and a half after my arrival from Monte Carlo. The room looked over a dirty block of flats next door, and I specifically requested the sea view. Some staff were frosty in their manner. |

We loved the proximity to the beach and the old city. We were well treated by the staff. What was amazing, was that they addressed me by name as I walked in the door, even before I presented any identification. How did they do that? I don't know, but it made us feel welcome from the start. We booked two rooms, one for parents, one for children. We were given rooms on the same floor, even though we knew at the time of booking the day before that this might not be possible. Well done Elysee Palace staff! The desks/chairs in the room were a bit smallish, but it did not affect our enjoyment of the hotel. |

The bus/tram stop is nearby 1.The signage of the hotel is not displayed prominently to be seen from the main road Promenade Anglais. There should be an arrow showing it from the Promenade itself. 2. The room should be provided with porcelain cups and saucers ( plus metal tea spoons) and not paper cups for drinks for the price paid for the room. |

I found the pool area excellant staff were very friendly but the hotel lacked atmosphere. The hotel is credited with 4 star but I would have considered it a 3 star. Misrepresentation of Mini bar which was only water and Juice this should have been stated when on web site. Plastic cups in bedroom for coffee or tea not on in a supposedly 4 star hotel. No one used the bar and this had to be as the cost of drink was prohibitive so there was no atmosphere there at night. |

We loved the funky design of the hotel. We had a suite so there was more than enough room for 3 people. The carpet is printed to look like big pebbles and the rest of the interior was very cool! We didn't have to pay for using the sun lounger and the view from the roof top pool was fab! Location wise it could be closer to the town but it didn't bother us. Pool was a bit small. |

The view from the rooftop restaurant and our waiter, Carlos, made our introduction to Nice very pleasant. Most of the reception staff were very helpful, with the exception of one female who had some issues with attitude. In room WiFi was not strong and timed out to many frustrating times. The door to the very good bathroom was attached to an auto closing device and needed to be propped open to ventilate the steam and heat from the bathroom occassionally. In this position it blocked access to the room door to the hallway. No big deal but worth mentioning for the hotel's benifit. |

The food range and quality, the staffs friendliness, the cocktail bar and garden The hotel uses extremely cheap toilet paper. It is simply unacceptable for a four star hotel. I have seen better toilet paper in hostels. |
