A charming, elegant town with a lively centre and a huge port. Fascinating old port, and fort well-presented and interesting to visit. Current heartbreaking exhibition re Corsican resistance in WW2. Ate well, mainly Corsican specialities e.g, mussels with cheese, veal with olives.

I had the unfortunate experience of losing my iPhone at the start of my trip. The desk managers at the Hotel Kalliste were amazing!!! They worked tirelessly to help me locate my phone that was left in a taxi. Thank you to Ilme!! Thank you to Joanne!! Thank you to Thomas!! You all went above and beyond to help me locate my phone. Great sleuthing to all! I was able to retrieve my phone and carry on with my vacation stress free.

Ajaccio is a magical and beautiful town, full of life, beaches, and amazing restaurants. It is very accessible by foot, and the access from the airport is also quick and convenient. Locals (at least most of the people we engaged with while there) were helpful and kind. I am not sure how safe a city it is as I "lost" a very valuable watch, and I wonder if it was the act of pickpockets, or hotel staff, or it came lose (it has not in 15 years though.) That did leave me with a feeling of deep disappointment. That put aside, I very much recommend traveling to Corsica and spending a couple of days in Ajaccio.

We found many good restaurants and one favorite one we went to several times. The city is clean and the port is amazing, especially with the huge cruise ships in port. The streets with the shopping kiosks offer anything and everything. The streets go every which way but GPS was an absolute necessity. DON'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT!!

We went to visit our granddaughter so she was our guide for the holiday. However, the hotel had a very comprehensive touch screen guide for transport, restaurants, places to see etc. Ajaccio was very accessible on foot and a week was enough to explore the town and surrounding areas on foot, bus and train. To go further afield you would need to hire a car. There were loads of restaurants and many cafes plus a weekly market by the harbour.
Pictures do correspond to reality, this is a really big two-bedroom apartment with a huge kitchen and living room. Easy to recuperate keys. This is an apartment with character (probably inhabited by the real owner, when in town), with a few really beautiful old furniture, a classy apartment! Owner had left towels, shampoos and gel douches for everyone on their respective beds, something rare in Corsica.
The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable--impressively renovated for an older building. There was no sense of "old" in the room. The location was great--just around the corner from Napoleon's birthplace/museum, and close to lots of bars and restaurants. It is a little complicated to find, but ask at the bar with the same name and they will direct you to the entrance.
Everything was wonderful, a charming old building, with thick walls and cozy views from the window. Very convenient location. I really enjoyed my stay, being next time in Ajaccio I'll try to book this place. The only thing I was missing was a shoehorn (chausse-pied). I think the owners will read my comment and add this little detail :) Et à bientôt!
Really enjoyed my stay at this hotel...the room was spotless and the bed comfortable...the lobby with a bar included is a good place to relax...delicious breakfast...the excellent staff couldn't be more friendly or helpful...the hotel is a short walk away from everything there is to see in the great city of Ajaccio...highly recommended.
this is more of an Airbnb, but a really great one. a very well designed modern space, great central location - restaurants and shopping just downstairs 5 mins to bus station or to the port, 10 to train station, 10 minutes to the beach. check in was super easy. great coffee machine with coffee pods…
Very friendly staff. A/C in the room was not oriented to the bed, so it could run all night, very good. Located in the middle of the city center, lots of restaurants and cafes around. We got a separate message to describe how to access the hotel, good job!
The room is with a friendly family in their appartment. Its quite far from the city centre but doable. It was hard to find. I booked quite late so the price/quality ratio was not very good. The room was quite clean. Just know that it isn't a hotel.
Pierre is an amazing host. The apartment is stunning and excellent value for money. I regret that we couldn’t stay longer. there is a hill up to the apartment but that’s just Corsica. A flawless stay with every mod con you could imagine
Comfortable spacious apartment. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Nice big balcony. Comfy bed. Perfect location for train station, buses, port, town centre..and our favourite restaurant in ajaccio, spaghetti 3.
Lovely hotel, right across the road from a nice beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Everywhere was clean and well looked after. It was surprisingly quiet and only a few minutes drive from busy Ajaccio.
We arrived early in the morning and hotel Mercure was so kind that we could park our car in their garage already. And also their swimming pool is so nice and welcome.
Nice hotel, close to city center and train station. Room was quiet and clean, but small. Service was very nice and very good breaktfast. WIFI was working good.
Super clean hotel with awesome staff! everyone is so nice and so accommodating!!! Room was big for European standard and the roof top terrace is super nice
