Our suite was absolutely lovely, very contemporary, sleek and modern. The bathroom was floor to ceiling granite with dual sinks and a huge soaking tub/shower combination. The toilet and bidet were separate making the bathroom more convenient for the 3 of us. Considering all the traffic noise in Nice, our room was peaceful and quiet when we rolled down the electric shutters to sleep. When we opened the shutters, we were treated to beautiful views of the neighboring architecture and gardens. The kitchen was great enabling us to start each day making our own coffee to go with the lovely pastries we purchased near by. The hotel staff couldn't have been more kind, welcoming and helpful and offered great tips for local commercial tours, buses and eateries. The location was perfect for short walks to the beach, shopping and restaurants. All in all the Goldstar Resort and Suites made our stay in Nice the very best.

Upgraded to ambassador suite . It was very spacious . Ideal base for our trip to Monaco grand prix close to train station beach and plenty of bars etc. We paid top price because it was grand prix would not have normally paid this amount for these rooms ! Didn't eat here because it was too expensive . Nice was expensive all round compared to other resorts around for food and drink . Read the info book and make sure you clean the kitchen or you will be charged 30 euros!

The design of the suite was good and the kitchen facilities were very useful. Location was good. Central and on the corner of R.Meyerbere which offers a number of restaurants and food shops. The roof top swimming pool (one pool with sliding roof and not indoor and outdoor pools as advertised) was nice, but completly inaccesible to my elderly wife because the top rung on the only access ladder was so far down that one had to be an athlete to use it. Reception staff, though helpfully inclined, were generally not up to the job. Examples were 1) when asked to find train times from Nice to Grasse, told me firmly that there were no trains to Grasse, and when I persisted and suggested they telephone the local sncf, they said they did not have the number! 2) On paying my bill (in cash), they did not offer me any form of receipt until I asked for one. 3) The safe in my room failed to open on one occasion, and when I called for assistance, they sent a young girl up. She solved the problem quickly - by tapping in, in front of me, a master code which I could have used if I had been dishonest.

We were (without asking) upgraded to an Ambassador Suite on arrival. It was spacious and comfortable and comprised large double bedroom, sitting room, bathroom with heated towel rail, twin basins and triangular bath with v good shower facility; and separate loo. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. Swimming pool on roof large about 18-20m by 8m with access across it to sunbathing area with loungers. This was spacious for city centre hotel. Did not use restaurant or Bar but they looked good. Fine rooftop views across Nice. Only criticism was fitness area poor. very old mechancial (non electric) treadmill. some other equipment and hamam not usable. sauna available only on request. However the Promenade des Anglais is the place to jog. Scenic Lift somewhat eccentric but assume this was temporary. Overall, good hotel in excellent location.; 5 mins walk to Promenade and Hotel Negresco (a well known landmark) and 10 mins walk to old town; would definitely return.

First of all, the hotel concierge(can't remember her name :s) was amazing! Location is good if your not looking to be on the seafront. Close walk to all the cafes and shopping areas as well as the sea front. Hotel has good facilities. Bed sheets and towels always smelled bad. Was unexpected since the hotel is very clean and modern.

Comfortable and well designed (however not modern) hotel quite close to the waterfront. I really liked English-speaking stuff that in France is not so common. Even ladies serving breakfast were well prepared for English- speaking guests. In terms of accommodation we received room that was 2 classes higher than one we booked and it was a nice surprise. Room was close to the street but it was not noisy. Breakfasts were tasteful and diverse and served in a sunny restaurant with beautiful view to the city. I loved the idea of swimming poll located at the highest floor of the building with the temperature of 30 Celsius degrees. Fitness corner was consisting of only a few elements and part of them was out of order. Roman (steam) sauna was closed during my stay. Room was close to an elevator and its throb was audible especially in the morning.

After a bad experience in Nice the day before the Goldstar was like a breath of fresh air - friendly helpful staff, lovely facilities and a wonderful room all ensured the last 4 days we spent in Nice were very enjoyable. Its a short walk from the beach front and a little stroll along the promenade will take you up to the Old town so locations is pretty ideal. Only minor gripe was the internet connection was a little flaky sometimes - not the end of the world for us, but if you are totally dependant on a computer while away then might be tricky

The location was great, only a few blocks from the promenade and a short walk to Nice old town, rooftop pool Buffet breakfast not value for money, the sauna/steam room were both broken and it took two days for someone to find a plug for the bath ! The onsite parking convenient but 25 euro a day was a bit much.

Have just returned from this hotel after an extremely enjoyable stay. Absolutely everything about this hotel was first class. The staff were so friendly and most helpful, the decor was stunning, the suite we had was beautiful and very comfortable,it had everything you could possibly need. Stayed in one evening for dinner, which was excellent, really top quality in beautiful surroundings. We had a little problem with the safe and someone was there to help us within a minute. Was very impressed with the service we got during our stay. The location was perfect...We travel quite a lot and this hotel is one of the best we have stayed in.We were sorry we were only staying for three nights, and can't wait to come back. Can't speak highly enough of our experience here...everything was excellent, couldn't fault anything. Would recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates quality.....Perfect!

Quality of the room, attentive nature of all the staff, breakfast, great location only a few minutes walk from the sea, and close to shops, bars and the train station. The window shutters going up and down can be a little frustrating but certainly not enough to stop me from recommending the hotel.

The Hotel location to the shops and the beach was very good. The Staff all had good enlish and were very helpful during our stay. The Consul Suite that we styed in had a kitchenette which was brillant for preparing breakfast or a snack. The bathroom was really spacious and the bed was very comfortable. There was no Residence Bar in the Hotal and these facilities closed by 10pm which is very early. We had asked for a seaview but didnt get same and also requested a non smoking room but on our first night there the room did smell strongly of cigarette smoke.

Many thanks to the Owner of the hotel and the Staff. Our short stay was enjoyable, the breakfast on balcony - fantastic. The location is perfect, we were given the senior suite instead of the junior suit, which was a nice surprise. The Owner of the hotel is taking case of the customers, which results in coming back in the future. Breakfast could be more variety.

Great central location... a few blocks to walk to the beach, the train station, shopping, restaurants, the Carnaval de Nice sites, and the flower market. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. Fixtures and finishes throughout the hotel were new, stylish and functional. Very good value. My only complaint is that the wireless internet service was intermittent in our room and we had to go to the lobby or the one of the lounges in order to get on the internet.

It had a very small kitchen which is a big plus, and the suite we had was rather quiet except when they left the door open and a band was playing upstairs. We asked for a quiet room in our booking and they did give us a larger suite where it was very quiet for a city hotel. The worst thing we felt was that the mattress was so hard it felt like we were sleeping on the floor, and the pillows were also so hard we went out and bought ourselves cheap soft pillows. The quality of the bed is the most important thing in the room, and here the bed was so hard it actually hurt our backs. We would not recommend the place to anyone who has a really good bed at home.

Location was excellent - hotel is modern and immaculately clean and the apartment comfortable and very quiet. Staff very polite and helpful. Bathroom is spacious and towels and toiletries/accessories provided of good standard. Kitchenette small but adequate for a short stay. Free wireless internet access was appreciated. Swimming pool and sauna facilities very pleasant. Some basic cleaning materials for use in the kitchenette would be very useful, and maybe a few more bits of crockery and kitchen tools/knives would be needed for a longer stay.

The rooms were great, spacious and we even booked massages in the suite! I recommend you do one! The gym had old and non-functionning machines which was really too bad! The sauna wasn't hot either. We didn't try the pool but it looked nice!
