Golf HotelAvenue Greyfié de Bellecombe BP 38, 73571 Brides-les-Bains (Show map) Very good, Score from 92 reviews“A wonderful hotel - full of charm, excellent service and good food!!”
William,
Ingatestone
Ideally located in the Alps in the 3 Valleys ski area, the warmly welcoming village of Brides-les-Bains is linked directly to Méribel by the Olympe gondola lift. This magnificent residence with 1920s-style décor combines charm and authenticity. Guestrooms offer comfort, quality services and are equipped with modern private bathrooms. The Golf Hôtel is in a quiet location looking out over the spectacular scenery of the Vanoise Glaciers. It has a clear view of the snow-covered Grand Bec and the village of Brides-les-Bains. Hotel Rooms: 54, Hotel Chain: Exclusive Hotels.

The location was great, at the base of the Meribel area. No driving up the mountain further in the snow and ice, but still access the 3 valleys by lifts. The staff and service were shockingly bad. It took 3 days to get cups in our rooms. After the first 2 days of not having their cheap plastic cups available, we called and pleaded to have something to drink from in our room. No one could help- first, the cups were 'locked up from the cleaning staff' and couldn't be reached. Then, we were informed they found some and would bring them by our room. Two hours later I went through the lobby and asked what went wrong... Apparently they couldn't locate them after all and didn't bother to tell us. The hotel food was ok but pushed heavily to buy. And no coffee is available either unless you buy the 11 euros pp buffet we didn't want. That's correct, no free coffee is understandable in Europe, but not allowing coffee or tea to be found or purchased in the hotel at all without having to buy a whole unwanted buffet is just horrible guest service. Oh, and you walk outside to get to the 'hot tub' that is in the basement and has a lukewarm temp auto setting.

The views from this hotel are fantastic. If your room is facing the town centre, you are surrounded by beautiful mountains with the sun shining into your room. It's such an overwhelming feeling full of calmness and admiration... In the afternoon, there was a bowl of fruit outside the restaurant area for the guests to help themselves. There was also a useful simple explanation of what consitutes a 'portion' of fruit as per the '5 a day' concept. If you use b&b, you have to fill in a form of what you would like for breakfast. If you are staying for a few days and want your breakfast to vary you need to change it at the reception the day before. Perhaps this is a standard way of serving breakfast in France, I am just used to buffet style which gives a little more choice and you can decide there and then what you would like to eat rather than plan it the day before.

Old fashioned luxury environment at a reasonable price, thanks to Booking.com Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very reasonable 25 euro 3/4 course set menu each evening in addition to the a la carte, with reginal favourites included. Tea making facility in the room would have been good.

Very good value for the money in particular the three course dinner. We used it as the base for skiing. It is about 200 meters from the Olympic gondola and in the mornings we took a shuttle bus to the lift. We used the steam sauna and jacuzzi and it was not used by anyone else (good for us).

The Golf Hotel is in an excellent location for direct access via the local Gondola to Meribel and the Three Valleys ski area. The price at the hotel is a fraction of those similar hotels in Meribel yet this does not reflect in the quality which is excellent. The location is quiet so a peaceful nights sleep is guaranteed and noise from neighbouring rooms is minimal. The food is plentiful and excellent quality, especially the breakfast which is buffet style. The hot-tub is a welcome addition after a hard days skiing and the adjoining bar area is extremely relaxing and a great place to unwind. I have stayed at the Golf for two consecutive years now and I will deffinately be back next year!!

Great value, great location for catching the cable car up to ski in Meribel (Meribel centre only 30 mins away) much quieter and cheaper to eat in Brides les Bains

Great value for money proposition. Spa area a bit small otherwise really nice. Excellent location, rooms, breakfast, considering the reasonable price. Spa area bit too small.

Hotel was a very good value. Very nice. Clean. Food (breakfast and dinner) was very good. Short walk to base of ski lift (25 min gondola ride to Meribel). In a charming town. Very friendly. Casinos if you are into that sort of stuff...generally a quite town.

Fine hotel. Modern contemporary style inside in an imposing building a short walk from the ski gondola and village centre. Food varied and imaginative. Good breakfast buffet. A very good 3 star - could almost be a 4 star !

The staff were very helpful, food was good and plentiful. It was close to the Olympic ski lift to Meribel. Nice location and had convenient car park. No English speaking TV channels and lack of English information about hotel facilities and surrounding amenities, so nothing major, I'd stay again.

5 mins walk to the gondola to Meribel, spacious clean room and good continental breakfast made a cheap alternative to staying in Meribel itself. Most of the hotel appears to have been recently updated, however the bathroom in our room was dated, although clean.
