The view was good but 5 minutes is all you need. If you go to the gorge use this place for a coffee stop then move on.
Been touring in France for two weeks and this was the worst food we had, a complete waste of money my steak was bullet proof the rest of it not much better
Friendly staff and amazing views
- Staff wasn't very nice - REALLY long drive up there - VERY noisy
The location is superb and the staff have a friendly/family style. We liked that we could lock our bikes in the room. The view is stunning from the balcony.
Looking a bit shabby. Had a light timer in the hall so if you could not find the switch it was a bit gloomy. Quite expensive for what it is but it is all about location. Given that this is an activity oriented location I think there should be the option to buy a bigger breakfast and perhaps a packed lunch.
The view is sublime and you are actually perched right over the gorge. The quality of the dinners was quite good and I had not realized that my room fee included a "demi pension" or in this case, the evening meal. My daughter does not eat meat and they easily adapted with an alternative.
I had moved up our reservation by one day and had a confirmation e mail from one of their staff after our phone call. I had done the reservation with booking.com who did not show any availability despite them telling me on the phone that they did indeed have availability for a room for 2 nights with a view. I had printed out the e mail and had it with me. None the less, there was disorganization by a staff member and for our first night we did not have a view. Advice, if you change something, re check it again before going and always ask for a confirmation e mail as I had done.
The view was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Poor Wi-Fi connection.
Nice view on canyon from the restaurant.
No real view from room, very simple breakfast, staff does not like, if you have breakfast after 9 and they make sure that you feel this.
It has great view. Great for hiking. The room is clean.
The location is hard to reach, it is hard to drive. No cell phone signal. The dinner is bad (most food is microwaved.)
The view from the terrace.
Unhelpful staff, menu very limited and poor quality food.
This is the only hotel located in the heart of Canyon du Verdon not in small villages nearby, it is almost in the middle of nowhere. Staff was nice and friendly. no air conditioner in the room, but you can sleep with open balcony and hear the river and see the stars so bright. Just amazing. It is worth booking a room overlooking the gorge(with terrace). Funny thing but there is no mobile network around hotel, and on that night they also had problems with internet connection, but staff allowed me to use emergency phone for free and that was very nice of them.
we had a drink and desserts in the restaurant in the evening, can't say I was impressed. Didn't like breakfast at all.
Location and view is extraordinary. We could just hike from the doorstep... Dinner was delicious as well.
Wifi not too strong.
great views from hotel terrace, nice breakfast
Location amazing, staff friendly. Hotel is a bit like a time warp but in quite charming way. Quiet nights sleep. Breakfast and evening meal provided in package was great, an authentic French meal but you could Order alternatives if you like. We stayed for 2 nights and loved it. Was not luxury but made our 14 night tour of the region memorable.
Only downside was twin beds but we pushed them together. Decor a bit dated but thought it added to the theme.
Beautiful view of canyon
Very isolated from village, no signal for cell phone, older hotel with very few amenities
Very friendly staff, great views from hotel terrace, nice breakfast, easy parking, large room and bathroom with hairdryer
The location is simply fantastic, can not beat it, not only in Provence but I'd say in most of the world. Rooms share a huge terrace with an unbelievable view on the canyon. Dinner on the half-board plan was OK, and so was the wine selection. My girlfriend had a problem with laundry but the management was very understanding and compensated her, which was highly appreciated.
Wifi does not work in the room but only near reception area or in the terrace. Breakfast is a bit thin on selection.
good view from the terrace half board option was great value and there was a different choice daily relaxed atmosphere friendly staff
quite noisy when the room upstairs was occupied we are tall and the shower attachment was very low
The location of the hotel is very good,
The room and the service are average. Recommend not to eat dinner at the hotel, The food and the service are really bad.
The view is superb with an unprecedented location on the edge of a cliff (cavalier). Staying at the Hotel Grand Canyon is a very special experience.
As with many French Hotels, there is no bathtub shower curtain - very strange. The wifi was not working, and because of the outdoorsy setting there were flies, many flies in the dining area.
We liked the scenery and location which were remarkable. Staff were helpful and keen to assist as required.
Infestation by house type flies and fleas(?) Breakfast was o.k. - just! Dinner menu was poor quality. There was no supply of drinking water on tap or for cleaning teeth and all drinking water had to be bought and was expensive.
Magnificent view on the canyon - both from the room and from the restaurant.
We were very pleasantly surprised with the spacious room, good bed and bathroom facilities. The evening meal was delicious and the host quite a character. Views absolutely spectacular!
The garden needs tidying up but new owners havn't been there long, so likely to improve from the outside.
The location and view are spectacular
The room was small and had no real view
Too many flies!
Excellent but remote location. Pefect spot for adventurers and country type of turism. Staff is excelent, very polite and willing to help.
Not suitable for long stay as it is distant from bigger cities (Draugignan, Riez, Burjoiles
