The staff and the shower

The room was too small, with furniture that did not fit in the room. Therefore it was difficult to put our suitcase somewhere in the room.

The location turned out to be better than it appeared when we arrived after 10 pm on Easter Sunday (most everything was closed). The Metro was convenient and we even walked to Notre Dame and the Arc de' Triomphe.

The room was very small yet expensive (compared to rooms in London and Madrid during the same trip). The hotel also seemed to be going through some sort of electrical or telecom renovation - there were exposed wires here and there in the public areas of the hotel. The room itself may have been going for that shabby-chic look but instead just looked shabby. The headboard was cheap, mass-produced particle board and the wallpaper was peeling. We purposely selected this hotel because it seemed authentic, but maybe next time we should just go with the Best Western.

With the exception of one of the reception desk staff (see below), the hotel was well organised, clean and, based on the rates, the rooms were decently seized. Not that t was necessary in our case, but the front desk spoke reasonably well English and unlike most other hotels in this class in France, there was a copy of the Herald Tribune available in the lobby.

When checking in, we asked if the room had two beds and was in a quiet part of the hotel (as specifically requested via Booking.com). A little plump lady at the front desk, insisted that we hadn't requested a quiet room but confirmed that the room had two separate beds. Once in the room, it turned out that the two beds were made up as one, so we had to return to the front desk. The lady was adamant that we had two separate beds and became extremely rude and arrogant and only upon our insistence asked housekeeping to make up two separate beds. We will not return to this hotel if this unprofessional person, who should not be employed in the hospitality industry, is still there.

Excellent location, easy to walk to main tourist attractions or take metro; helpful staff on reception;

Dining room is exceptionally small for number of rooms and very cramped when busy; Breakfast was adequate but limited variety; Breakfast staff not super friendly; little english. Not great value for money, but then again, this was Paris.

The welcome and friendly service. The room was very comfortable. Very good to have a separate bathroom and WC. Very good sound proofing, no sound of traffic. For us it was a perfect location, Metro and buses, and the area of the Rue Moufftard close by is delightful.

It was a pity the lift did not go to reception as I had my disabled daughter with me. This would be a serious problem if she had not been able to use the stairs to the lift. Otherwise no dislikes.

It was out visit to Paris and the location of the hotel could not be bettered, arrived ar Gare Du Nord and the metro line from there (Line 5) goes straight to St Marcel Metro station which is just a couple of hundred metres from the hotel. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nice breakfast to set you up for the day although the breakfast room is quite small. Comfortable beds and in a great location, with bars and nice restaurants just down the road.

The attitude of the manager Sean Marc was outstanding he couldn't have been more helpful. He made our stay very good. Breakfast room was small and crowded most gays but for the money it was very good. Would definitely stay again.

Room was a little small but ok and lift broke down for a day while we were there so had to walk up and down 6 floor. However breakfast was delivered to your room so staff were excellent.

Die Lage war sehr günstig, in ein paar Minuten war man im Quartier Latin und weiter in Germain du Près. Die Metrostation war nicht weit entfernt und man konnte überall schnell hinfahren. Das Frühstück war für französische Verhältnisse sehr gut und reichlich, der Kaffee sehr gut!

Es ist sehr hellhörig, wurde gerade auch umgebaut, aber kein Baulärm. Von der Straße her ist es nachts auch ziemlich laut (Verkehr), wenn man das Fenster aufmachen möchte.

Personnel sympathique; près de deux stations de métro; à proximité de nombreux commerces.

Petit-déjeuner moyen au niveau du choix

Sijainti oli erittäin hyvä; hotelli sijaitsi lähellä metroa, josta pääsi kätevästi kaikkien tärkeimpien nähtävyyksien ja ostospaikkojen lähelle. Huoneet olivat pieniä, mutta siistejä. Henkilökunta oli asiallista ja aamupala oli Pariisin mittakaavassa aivan ok.

Huone oli ahdas, joten tavaroita oli hankaka saada kunnolla mihinkään. Huoneessa oli myös koleaa ja kohteaa, tosin matkamme aikana satoi joka päivä.
