Beautiful hotel. Best concierge service I think I've ever received from any travel. Would recommend this place without any doubt. Central location is nice as well.
Nice staff, excellent position. Nice atmosphere and good food
Terrible lighting in the bedroom, far too dark. The spa was disorganized and also too dark. The floor was very wet and dangerous, I slipped twice and saw other people also had the same problem.
Everything was excellent
WiFi did not work
It's a quality hotel. Lovely bar downstairs and very professional staff
rooms a bit dark even with all the lights on - and a bit small too
Great location Helpful staff
Breakfast too expensive
Grand in every aspect, luxury, slick and friendly service
Expensive but don't go to the best expecting not to pay for it
We chose this hotel for its traditional style, needing change after extended travel, from modern bland hotels. It was rich in character with the traditional red/ maroon and beige decor. All the public areas had style and charm and the hotel was superbly located in the main square. The staff were all outstanding in their service,
The rooms were smallish, and the bathrooms tiny in the standard rooms, with literally no space to turn around, and a risk to older travellers trying to climb out of the bath/ shower. The shower was not satisfactory and was fiddly. The lounge was lovely but the prices for anything were very high, including breakfast, but I guess that goes with the territory of an old grand " dame".
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - especially when our plane was delayed by air traffic control difficulties and we arrived dring the first act of The Nutcracker Suite! They immediately took us across to the Theatre opposite secured our tickets and looked after our bags and everything else. Wonderful pre-Christmas atmosphere in the hotel and the brightly decorated Place de Comedie. I strongly recommend this wonderful traditional but very well run hotel for a nice treat.
Pricey for the room that I got.
The staff and warmth of welcome. The spa-amazing pool a must-see. Comfortable beds. Central location unbeatable.
Had dinner in the Brasserie, ordered the rib-eye steak medium-well. It came rare, and was politely sent back for more cooking. On its return, it had not changed at all! No point in a second attempt to get what I wanted, the delay would have spoiled my partners meal. Not for the first time in France, a chef who knows what's good for me and won't "insult his integrity" by giving the customer what he wants. (The waiting staff agreed and were embarrassed but clearly afraid of the "star") Actually it's best to stay away from beef in France generally, the quality's not a patch on British and the butchery's illogical.
Super comfy bed and pillows Big bathroom Luxury decor View from the sauna Prompt telephone response from reception
Super overpriced mini bar Super overpriced breakfast
Central position in the town Outstanding standards throughout as one would expect. Friendly staff.
Parking in the central area is a bit of a nightmare until we had figured it all out. Then the hotel staff got into gear and lifted all our cares.
All the staff were exceptionally polite, professional and helpful. Despite having to spend our first two nights in the Seze Hotel because a delegation at The Grand stayed longer and kept our room, the staff did their utmost to make amends and the arrangements to move us out and back to the Grand were seamlessly done with great concern for us and our comfort. We were also upgraded to a better room which was lovely.
The lighting in our wonderful suite was not great.
The staff were excellent and the facilities great. Rooms were very clean and the decor fantastic. The hotel is in the centre of the city opposite the Opera House.
We arrived on the Sunday at the beginning of the month. We didn't realise that most of the city streets are shut off to traffic, therefore, making it difficult to arrive at the hotel. So if you are going to Bordeaux by car on the first Sunday of the month, be prepared.
Location, hotel is beautiful. The staff were very pleasant. The rooms are beautifully furnished and the quality of the bedding is excellent. The bathroom amenities are good. Breakfast was excellent. Loved the terrace off of our room. It was bigger than the bedroom!
The rooms were very small and we did an upgraded room. Did not like the toilet being in the foyer. With the size of the rooms being so very small it was dangerous moving around at night. Always tripping over luggage.
Classic European luxury. Recommended off season prices :-)
The location is fantastic and walking distance to a lot of restaurants and bars. Beautiful hotel and staff is very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay.
Complimentary Wifi was slow. Rooms are little small.
+ Location + Cleanliness + quality of the Breakfast
- room too dark
Location is excellent for exploring the old town. Good 4th floor room affording good views. Spa excellent with good staff. Best avoided at busy times, however.
Over-priced and over-billed restaurant. Residents given little or no priority when busy.
Rooftop bar and jacuzzi
small room with no view
Location, restaurant, rooms
No access permitted to Gym / Spa, No walk in shower, only shower was in Bath tub which involved stepping over a high bath rim with wet feet etc ( potentially dangerous ) , No kettles in room, Expensive off road parking ( 35 euros per night ) Expensive ( 80 euros ) but poor quality car wash service
Location is the best in town being next to the theatre and shops, loads of restaurants nearby for all budgets and it is near the river. Best bit about the hotel itself was the roof top bar, especially in the night when the rest of the city is all lit up.
Breakfast prices are extremely high but luckily there was a very good café across the square.
Location was brilliant. Extremely comfortable and luxurious. Staff friendly and efficient. Expensive but worth it and a real treat.
Nothing - if you haven't been there before and you have your car, it's a little difficult to find because the hotel is in a pedestrianized area.
