Very Conveniently located less than 100 meters from the Metro, RER, and Gare de l'est train station. Great bakery near by. Room was clean.

The most disappointing thing was the unhelpful, rude, and haughty staff. Despite what the write-up implies, wifi is not free but is expensive as they charged us 10Euros a day for it. The walls are paper thin. No air conditioning. The rating of 3 stars is not accurate as we stayed at a few 2-star hotels that were more spacious, and better equipped. Traffic noise is loud and there is a noisy bar very near as well. Over all, this hotel was a very poor choice.

Clean and close to metrostation. Staff is very gentle. When we asked for another room we could look and choose between 2 rooms!

Floor is not straight and door could not be closed properly. Lift is indeed really, really small, so we always took the stairs.

We are a family of 4 from Canada and we stayed at the Grand Hotel De Paris in July between our arrival at cdg and departure from Montparnesse early the following morning. The room was spacious by Paris standards. It was clean and the bathroom had one of the best showers I have encountered in a european hotel. It is located just steps from the Metro which makes it very convenient. The hotel is excellent value for money! We have paid more than double in Paris for a smaller family room and I would rather spend the extra 100 Euros on dinner and wine!

Location. Having friendly bar/cafe next door was very convenient;and proximity of Peripherique Exterieur for access from NE(Calais) and onward journey south-west. Familiarity - my third visit. Secondary glazing reduced traffic noise to a minimum on front-facing room. Teeny lift has its disadvantages as well as advantages(see below).

Is the following a "complaint" ? We found our plastic card "key" didn't work on the second of our two nights at the hotel: it had been forgottten that we were staying a second night, presumably - the codes are regularly changed. We were then a little anxious because we had seen no-one at Reception when we entered the lobby; luckily, the night manager was there - behind the smoked glass of the adjacent breakfast room area. He found a key that admitted us - but we could not retain it and felt embarrassed at the prospect of having to rouse him, possibly more than once and in the early hours were we to go out. The teeny lift: no good for anyone(the average-sized American?) or a couple whose weight exceeds 225 kg - or,more realistically, a girth wider than a normal airplane seat. Vive la maigreur!

Staff is very helpful. Nice location.

Lift is small and no air-conditional.

The location was good being just next to the train station, so we could just drop off our luggage and head to the city. The room was big enough especially keeping in mind that we were a family of four with two young kids.

The hotel itself was quite basic and the lift was small.

Very close to Garett du Noed and Gare L'Est, so easy to get around, hotel open till 01.00. Excellent value for money when compared with rates for other hotels similarly close to the metro and shops.

the hotel was old but comfortable. the family room we stayed in was spacious but a little tired. it was very cold in paris during our stay so the large bath and warm room was welcoming.the location was good if you are planning on using the train to get around.the gard l'est is very close the gard de nord about 3 blocks away. there were some good restaurants to dine at surrounding the hotel.

the lift is tiny so be prepared for carrying your luggage up a narrow winding staircase!..

If you are looking for only a place to crash for the night, this is the place for you. If not, and you are willing to spend a bit more money, please do-not choose this place.

Stay away from here!! There is no words to fully describe the bad experience I had in this hotel. Extremely rude staff, none of them spoke english and a room so small and unconfortable that it really ruined my Paris experience. Stay away from this hotel! If you want a low budget, you are better off staying in a hostel or even sleep at Gare de l´est. It will be more confortable and people will probably be nicer to you.

The staff were helpful, with the room serviced daily with new linen and towels. It was close to the Metro and other train services, with restaurants and similar facilities near by.

The rooms were dated with limited mod-cons available. Renovations were being completed in the hotel iteslf but the rooms could do with a facelift. If a kettle, crockery, small refrigerator and ironing facilties could be supplied, it would improve the position.

The staff was excellent and very friendly. Location to train and subway is unbeatable. North Paris area is fine and friendly to walk around

full remodel mode at the hotel. They only worked during middle of day so they stayed quiet.
