Set in a Hausmannian-style building, the Avalon Hotel Paris is a 5-minute walk from Gare du Nord train station. It offers stylish rooms and studios with free Wi-Fi connection and Satellite TV.
Score from 1414 reviews Good
This hotel is conveniently placed near Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est train stations. All the soundproofed rooms were refurbished in 2007, and some boast a view of the Eiffel Tower.

This hotel is located close to Gare du Nord train station, in a very lively area with many restaurants and brasseries. If you like a calm and comfortable atmosphere, this is for you.

Proximity to Gare du Nord
Night staff produced an old dirty-looking blanket when we found the existing blanket inadequate, being very thin. He did not have the necessary skills for the job. Bedding was not suitable for the time of year.
Pretty close to metro station and train station
Noise under windows from nearest bar
very close to subway(2mins by walk)
staff couldn't speak English, we paid extra for wi-fi also recep. always took our key and when we came up to hostel late night he was alwasy sleep, we waited 5-10 mins
the lift, the interior, the shower , no free WIFI.
They were not welcoming and kept complaining about the luggage we had as a family
Good new firm beds Window opened for fresh air Friendly helpful staff
Shower over bath Pricy Didn't pick up from airport as originally on website when we booked.
Location was very good for us, the cost was fine as we only stayed one night.
The location is near the Gard de Nord and Gard d'est, very convenient.
The room size is very small even we booked a tripe room. There is no space between the double bed and single bed. I will not recommend to my friends if they wish to book a triple room.
Location is good, very close to the station (with direct line to Charles de Gaul and Metro to Paris centre) and lots of eateries and bars nearby.
Very old hotel, needs updating but reflected in the tariff. It is value for money.
Close with Gare du Nord station, many restaurant around
The elevator was tiny, noise from outside
10 mins walk to Gard du Nord station.
The family 'suite' was dingy, rusty, smelly, dirty carpets , non working doors... A shocking connected rooms lot worse than your neighborhood red roof inn or Microtel. The owner could have given better rooms, but he cheated us. !!
Friendly staff Close to metro
Very dated Malfunctioning door locks Very noisy, whole night you will hear city traffic and ambulance siren.. Single Tiny lift which can carry only 3 persons
While there was nothing intrinsically wrong with the hotel, nor did it ever seem like good value for money or the kind of hotel I would ever like to stay in again. On the plus side, the room was clean, if a lot smaller than the pictures suggest, and it is in a very convenient location to access the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l'Est.
While never quite openly rude, the staff were not very welcoming and often seemed unhappy to be asked to provide the towels that housekeeping forgot to replace or to sell you an internet access code. I personally am not a fan of not having a wash basin in the room which houses the toilet. I do not like having to go into the shower room, assuming it is not being used by my partner, in order to wash my hands after using the toilet. Next time I visit Paris, I will not be staying here.
The welcome, the location.
The small room with curtains that didn't quite keep out the daylight
Position 24hr desk
not the cleanest, but at that price I'm not complaining...
The location and the fact that it was clean.
The rooms were run down and badly in need of decoration. On the second night a small mouse ran across my chest. The windows were not very secure either albeit we were on the second floor. We had to leave the room key when we left the hotel which I had never experienced so we didn't leave anything in the room anytime we popped out.
Shower was decent
Everything. Dirty, decrepit, I don't think they vacuumed in years. Stains and dirty linens. Wifi was not free.
Location to major railway station was great. That was the only thing good about it.
Staff weren't very helpful, rooms were terrible, paint falling off walls, shower was shocking, no where to hold soap, no water pressure, shower head dangling off wall.Lift was tiny and felt unsafe. The tiny balcony was broken and had wire to fill a huge hole in the rails.Very unsafe.Came out if lift to find double bed on its side blocking our doorway. Beds hard. Just terrible. Needs to be demolished.
The central location was good but. and the bed comfortable......
The location of the hotel on two busy roads that had busy traffic throughout the night meant that when the windows were open because of the heat the noise was too much. This was compounded by the hospital being nearby and the sirens regularly going past the hotel. The decorations in the hotel is in need of updating and the carpets in our room ... we didn't take our shoes off just when in bathroom!
The quality of service was very poor. The man at the reception was not polite and when i had a query he made me wait for 10 minutes. The hotel was half under renovation The internet facility is not free at all in this hotel .
Location good for Gare Du Nord
Level of cleanliness extremely poor. Hotel was in need of major upgrading especially the curtains and carpets.
The hotel room was disgusting. Lag of cleaning over a long period of time. The shower head was defect. No air cooling in the room. No safety box. No refrigerator. No place for a family with children. No WiFi even when it is stated in the hotel confirmation
Very satisfied with the hotel, all is fine.we have a happy trip. Thanks for their service.
It is close to the train station and the nightlife nearby is great.
In this century charging for internet by the hour (3€/2h) and terminal is just plain ridiculous, our stay would have been perfect if it wasn't for this matter.
