Grand Hôtel

Easy walking distance for old town of Troyes. Although just across the road from the railway station there was no train noise. We stayed for a single overnight stop travelling south but we would all stay at this hotel again.

Placed right next to the main train station and at a walking distance to the city center. Very beautiful, big, clean and comfortable rooms. Nice breakfast. For this price range, that was clearly the best hotel I've stayed in france until now.

The bathroom needs curtains or another arrangement for bathtub.

Huge room if a little tired, very nice facilities inc. air con.

Limited parking

Undestanding staff. They canged our room which was very depressing! Bed clean.

We got a depressing room about which we complained and they gave us a better looking one but not newer in furniture or updated bathroom.

Unfortunately the Grand Hotel is not very grand. I would not recommend it to families.

It was smelly, dated, very basic. the area was poor, which is right by the train station, especially grim when my husband was propositioned by a hooker right outside the main entrance.

The gourmet menuat one of the restaurants, Le Champagne, is out of this world.

The staff was very kind and helpful. The location is right across the street from the train station. The (cold) breakfast was convenient, and the quality of the food was good. I did not eat in the hotel restaurants, but there are many others nearby. The bathrooms are dated, but this is an old hotel in an old city. Everything in my room was working fine, and the mini-fridge was quiet.

Difficult to take showers as there is no curtain on the tub. There is no Internet access in the room; you have to ask at the desk for a key to one of two or three areas with wired access. Noise was not a problem for me, but I have not stayed at the hotel on weekend nights. There is no air conditioning, but this was no problem in early September, as there are large, functional windows.

Facilities were tatty and run down. There was no light bulb in the toilet. TV channels were limited

Het verblijf kan worden samengevat met de uitstraling van het hotel, namelijk vergane glorie (waarvan de marmeren vloeren op de gangen nog getuigen).

Un po' vecchiotto, e parcheggio moto a 8 euro in una cantina...
