Grand Hotel Terminus Brive  

It was just across the road from the railway station. It was warm and the bed was comfortable and the shower efficient but there was no door on the bathroom - ok for a couple I suppose but not ideal. It was reasonably priced.

It was rather difficult to get into the hotel. Entrance was through the bar but there was no notice saying this and it did appear as if the hotel was closed. Now it was late November and not the height of the tourist season.

We just wanted somewhere to spend the night after getting off a train and picking up a rental car the next day to continue our holiday. We weren't expecting much and the Grand Hotel Terminus was a pleasant surprise. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location next to the railway station. Excellent and very reasonably-priced dinner. Recently renovated and clean room, albeit with an eccentric layout with the large bathroom at the end of a short corridor behind the lift, but still within our room. Surprisingly quiet.

The position & proximity to station . Staff helpful and friendly. Good to have the lift in service this visit. Despite our lack of French the staff were understanding and we were able to communicate what was needed.

We found the room a little warm and had difficulty to get the air conditioning to function well.

It was clean , comfortable bed, close to the railway station , car hire & a walk to centre of the town

Having to lug cases two flu ghats of stairs.

We were greeted warmly and my bag was carried to the lift. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast next morning was excellent as was the service. It was only a short walk to the centre of town too.

Staff were very honest, friendly, rooms were very nice for a stopover for one night and facilities were very good. A lovely courtyard and breakfast room So handy tools city and very picturesque views. An excelent place to stay when yogurt the late train in from CDG airport.

Perhaps a place to make a drink when we arrived late would have been good.

It was very clean, bright and airy, in a surprisingly good location - unlike other cities, the area around the train station in Brive is attractive and there is some night life.

I was pleasantly surprised with all - I have no dislikes of Grand Hotel Terminus Brive

Close to the train station in this relaxed pleasant location we enjoyed our stay in Brive.

Its an old fashioned hotel, and nothing fancy, but good value for money

The hotel was opposite the railway station, which is why I chose it. I was dismayed to find there was no lift, but pleased to accept help with my case. The air con was quiet and much appreciated. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was poor, with little choice. However, I can heartily recommend the station buffet where lunch was excellent, and very good value.

This Hotel should only be two stars not 3 - wifi only works in a few areas and there is no elevator for heavy bags, Overpriced..

Opposite the station, so very convenient if using public transport. Very much a traditional provincial hotel. Our room was recently decorated and was air conditioned. We would use the hotel again.

As other reviewers have noted, depending where your room is you can hear the station announcements; the bed was a bit firm for us; having to sit on the stairs to use the wifi was a bit inconvenient!

We needed somewhere close to the station as we arrived at 10p.m. Opposite station.Lovely clean modern rooms in a old building.Staff helpful,we didn,t eat here but some had a snack and was good.Ideal that you didn't need to check out until noon. Very central.would recommend it

The location is perfect for catching train connections either to or from Paris. The Staff were freindly and helpful and the rooms of older style but clean and comfortable. It is also right next to car hire companies for those wishing to start their own journeys to the Sarlat area. The bar was most welcome on a hot Friday afternoon.

No lift access to the first floor for those with heavy cases.

Location, location, location. We were coming in by train and leaving by car. The hotel is literally right outside the train station and a block from two car rental companies. The rooms were clean if a little quirky, like many European hotels that had to be creative to find room for ensuite baths. The staff was friendly and didn't seem to mind working around the language barrier (my French best described as "confusing")

The great location by the train station had the noise one might expect, but nothing ear plugs didn't handle fine.

Le manque de double vitrage dans les chambres qui pour le coup ne sont pas du tout insonorisée. Les bruits de la rue et surtout les annonces sncf s'entendent depuis les chambres vitres et volets fermés

Proximité du centre ville

Literie trop ferme, chambre bruyante car située face à la gare. Température basse dans la chambre, mauvaise isolation.

Ouvert 24 heures sur 24. Personnel accueillant. Chambre tout à fait correcte pour le prix. Situé juste en face de la gare SNCF : très pratique quand on prend un train à l'aube.

On m'a permis de prendre possession de ma chambre avant l'heure "règlementaire". J'ai eu une chambre côté cour, car j'avais demandé une chambre au calme. L'accueil est très sympathique (à l'arrivée comme au départ). J'ai choisi cet hôtel car situé en face de la gare, très pratique lorsqu'on a un train à prendre à l'aube. Accès au centre ville à pied très aisé.

Die Lage ist - direkt gegenüber des Bahnhofs - O.K., falls man früh weiterreisen muss. Die Zimmer sind sauber und recht frisch renoviert.

Der schlechteste Service, den ich in einem Hotel seit langem hatte. Einziges Personal: ein total desinteressierter, arroganter junger Typ, der auch die schmutzige angeschlossene Brasserie bediente. Erst bequemte er sich nicht zur Rezeption, sondern winkte mich herbei, dann ließ er mich - trotz schwerem Trekking-Rucksack, den ich trug, 5 Minuten warten und spülte in aller Ruhe Gläser. Dann knallte er mir einen Schlüssel für ein Zimmer im 3. Stock auf den Tresen und antwortete auf die Frage, wo der Aufzug sei, "im ersten Stock". Dass der Aufzug dort quasi unauffindbar im hintersten Winkel eines langen Ganges lag, erwähnte er wohl absichtlich nicht. Auch bei der Abrechnung wieder absolut arrogant und desinteressiert. Das Hotel ist immerhin mit drei Sternen gekennzeichnet!

Le calme

Vrij ruime schone kamer en badkamer. Redelijk dicht bij het centrum en recht tegenover het treinstation. Parkeren kost 5 euro en dan staat de auto binnen. Op straat parkeren is van 19 tot 9 uur gratis.

Slapen met het raam open is geen pretje omdat er de hele nacht lawaai is en er 's morgens heel vroeg al van alles omgeroepen wordt op het station. Geen lift en matig ontbijt

le petit déjeûner, banal, insuffisant, croissants et petits pains devaient avoir au moins 3 ou 4 jours !!!! pas très appétissants. Le bar n'est pas propre, la restauration ne semble pas attirante. La petite cour intérieure serait agréable le matin au petit déj si elle était propre. Désolé, mais à part la chambre , tout le reste est loin d'être '' clean ''
